Howard Johnson by Wyndham Downtown Gatlinburg

There's nothing fancy about this place but it's very clean and it's nice. We stayed here in April, 2023, and liked it so much we came back for our anniversary trip. We requested the fourth floor (we stayed on the fourth floor in April) so that we can get some extra exercise in by taking the stairs.
The room we stayed in back in April was nice but we are seriously in love with the room we are in now. On the corner so it'side private. Bigger than the other room. Going to request this room next time.
The location is great! Can walk down to the strip so we don't have to get in our vehicle and hunt for parking.
The cost of the room is very affordable! We did pay about $14.00 extra (for the total not per night) to get double (queen size) beds. Not that we needed them but because, as I previously stated, we wanted on the fourth floor and the rooms on the fourth floor have double beds.
There are a couple of pools and an electric fire pit. Of course, we haven't been able to use the pools because each time we've come it's been in off season.
But I imagine if one were to come in the summer the pools would be a huge plus!
The only negative, if you are a breakfast eater, is that there is no breakfast included. This doesn't bother us because neither my husband or I eat breakfast. And with the inexpensive cost of the room, you can afford to go somewhere for breakfast if you need to.
I am totally happy with this hotel and highly recommend it!

I highly recommend staying with “Howard Johnson by Wyndham”. You will love their clean rooms, friendly staff, great internet, and great roomy rooms! The outside of their property is also clean too! You can leave your room and walk to everything in Downtown Gatlinburg. Very convenient to everything! Great place to stay! We will definitely be back!

Super close to the main strip. Way cleaner than some others with higher ratingss closer to the strip we've stayed on. The staff was super nice. Very clean. Great balconies. Has a fire pit out front for guests to enjoy.

I was hesitant to stay here because of some of the reviews. However I took the chance and I’m glad I did VERY good price for one night and close to the Main Street in Gatlingburg and the room has been upgraded and was very clean and the bathroom was very clean as well. The best was a little uncomfortable but most beds in hotels are to me. The Young Man working the front desk when I checked in and was very nice and respectful. That right there makes a big difference to me. I stayed in room116 and so I’m not sure about the upstairs one I recommend this Hotel 👍👍 there WAS a BIG BEAR Breaking into the trash can outside so I was careful not to leave anything in the car

Everything was excellent from check in to check out for the value that we got. The price is great. Customer service was very good and very accommodating. Location is wonderfully perfect!!!! The room was clean and spacious, balcony is a plus. The property was clean. We’ll definitely stay here again when we visit Gatlinburg.

This was a great deal. Newly renovated rooms that are clean and modernized with nice TV and sweet ring light around bathroom mirror. Employees were all so nice. Walking distance within the Gatlinburg strip was a bonus as well. We enjoyed our stay.

The rooms are very adequate, beds are stiff. But the service was very accommodating, accidentally left some personal items and they were very helpful in returning them to me via mail. Enjoyable pool, a bit small for the size of the hotel but not many people coming here for the pools. Wonderful fire pit to relax next to.

Had a great room but our keycard deactivated halfway through and the location was overcrowded and if you want to go somewhere you have to walk there but overall it’s pretty good

Rooms were very clean and close to the main st. We stayed a week. Maid was on top of her job

Perfect location. The rooms were great and there are two fire pits. We had fun every night we were here.

I would definitely recommend this place 100%. If you are looking for a place that’s close to all the museums and attractions this is it. We walked to all the museum and ripley attraction and restaurants with a walk of 5-10 minutes max. We also drove to piegon forge and it took us about 10-15 minutes max. This
We were very comfortable during our stay , very convenient and very affordable . Kids loved the pool and we loved the comfort .

Mid week get-away and although the hotel is somewhat dated on the outside, 1990's Smokey Mountains, rooms are 2020ish and 3 nights for $150...5 out of 5. No complimentary breakfast but muffins and discount for an eatery on the strip. General parking lot next to us was $15 a day so basically $105 for 3 days if you plan to hang out in Gatlinburg.

Nice Budget friendly hotel. Close to downtown. Each upper room has a balcony. 6 nights 700 bucks. No bugs !!!!!

Very comfortable. Waking distance to downtown Gatlinburg. The hotel & bathroom were very clean. They don’t have the continental breakfast but they do serve juice, coffee & muffins. We will be back to stay!

Room was large and very clean. We arrived early and were allowed to check in early. The hotel is located within a short walking distance to the main strip. The front desk gentleman was extremely polite and nice and answered all of our questions. If you smoke there are two designated smoking spots that we seen, one next to a creek with a covered well lit seating section and the other is around a gas firepit. Very nice, we will return!

Property and room exceeded expectations and was clean, appealing, and convenient to the Parkway. Room was well maintained, oder free, and included a balcony with seating overlooking the pool. Elevator service was definitely a plus.Would stay there again.

I absolutely loved our stay. The rooms were very spacious and clean. We got put in front of the pool and it was amazing even though it was too cold. I will definitely only be booking here when we go back.

My husband & I just stayed one night but came into a nice cool clean room & the best shower I have ever taken…nice quiet comfortable I would recommend you won’t be upset

Very Clean, awesome location, convenient to many attractions, most comfortable beds, Fire pits were a nice touch and seeing the space needle and chair lift all lit up at night from our balcony was nice. Staff were all very friendly.

Room furnishings/decor could use some updating but still nice. Outdoor Elevator made some interesting & slightly alarming sounds when operating but could just be the extra cold temps that week…maybe? :/

May not necessarily be the hotels fault but after being impressed with the hotel, I hopped on the Booking site and was going to book our next stay in April and seen that they had the same style rooms for the same two nights we were booked for $100 cheaper than what paid.

Recently remodeled on the inside. Very clean and friendly staff. Great room for a short stay.
