I graduated from high school in 2015

2014 was one of the hardest years of my life, and because of that I was not on the path to graduation until I was accepted into JLA, from there I was able to finish high school in a small, self-paced environment that I flourished in! I will never forget the teachers and staff who helped me make my education possible, and are part of the reason I’m now pursuing a degree in education.

Amazing school. Amazing teachers! This place was the reason I graduated and I will truly miss it!

JLA was the worse experience of my life. Granted I graduated from there and I am thankful for that, my time at JLA was miserable. I was discriminated against. Right before Christmas 2017 I was suspended for a video of my NEPHEW in the video he had said the "n" word which I did not agree with and I got onto him for. A few students at the school got ahold of said video and decided when I came back to school, from visiting my grandmother who was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, they were gunna surround me and jump me.. I was able to avoid this but I ended up being the only one suspended. It didn't end there, after a month of suspension I finally got to return to school. Still I was antagonized and threatened day in and day out. I made reports with BOTH Ms. Hodges (counselor) AND Ms.Baker (principal) these reports seemed to never make it further than Ms. Baker's desk. A few weeks later the girls involved attempted to block my car into the parking lot a d tryied to jump me again... Before they could close off the space completely I made it out hitting 90 trying to get away. I reported this to the police And the school and again nothing was done to the girls, however I was forced to sit in a room by myself for a week and half forced to finish my classes and escorted to and from my car like I was the problem. I graduated March 27 meaning I finished early.. I still received messages and threats from these girls. Again I reported it and nothing was done. Graduation rolled around and there was multiple posts made about me that I ended up seeing.. I made one single post back and I was told I could not walk the stage, yet the girls that threatened me an harrassed me for MONTHS all got to walk. Even the teachers here are bullies. Please protect your kids emotional stability and do not send them to this crooked school.
