The area was very beautiful it was just a short walk from large parking lot with plenty of parking. The signs for the trails are pretty easy to follow for the most part, but the maps don't really all make clear where you are currently. And, some of the maps have been scratched or vandalized so they are harder to read. Lots of beauty. Medium strength walk plenty of hills and views to see. Open sunrise to sunset

Such a beautiful and well maintained Forest Preserve. I love the nature, paths and trails.
Great job to all those municipal, county and forest preserve workers. 👍

This area is about 40 minutes south from us in the city. Good sized nature area with many clearly marked trails ranging from 1.5 - 9.5 miles. The paths a pretty wide and very easily for our our senior doggo. We will happily be coming back again.

Plenty of nature here! Paths were clear and brush was cleared on the sides of the path if you have a dog. The wildflowers were beautiful . I couldn't find poison ivy so there is slot of unseen maintenance occuring here from the timbers stretched across the mud to the paths being nicely leveled. I've been here ten years ago and the improvements are impressive. Clearly marked paths and more. Check this off on your to-do list.

Cranberry Slough is a great place to go fish and relax.
If the kids like fishing, take them there, they'll have fun.

Stunning walks! Lots of mosquitoes, so make sure you’ve sprayed yourself with your favoured repellent! Don’t let the mosquitoes put you off! This place is incredible! We went on an unusually hot day so the flies were rampant, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying this place AT ALL!

This spot as a lengthy 4.8 mile trail that I hiked. The birds sealed the deal to make this an excellent experience. Specifically, I logged a Red-headed woodpecker in my Audobon app for birding.

I take my dog in a walk here frequently. The paths cut through beautiful forests and around scenic sloughs. The nearly 5 mile Country Lane Path provides a great exercise retreat or outing for you, your family, or pup or trail horse.

Cranberry Slough.. Aka country lane... Always a favorite, walk it, jog it, run it, bike it. I took the shortest loop 2.5 miles. Great for bird and animal
(Deer) sightings, plenty of offshoots for the adventurous. 10+ miles possible.

I enjoyed the experience just as much as when I was in grammar school, feel bad for employees I didn't realize they actually physically lock several gated areas at 5pm, so come early leave early, so they won't have to unlock u out. Sorry again ,very fantastic staff my kids first time was enjoyable.

Sanctuary.

Not a lot to say about this place - it is a sanctuary for me and my girlfriend. We come to relax, walk, take in the quiet of nature, take in the water activity or just the respectful peace between us both.

Can be physically rejuvenating or reflectively interesting, as nature always is.

We enjoyed a relaxing and restoring walk in the woods on a very pleasantly warm day. There are enough woods in all directions to let you feel truly surrounded by nature.
