Applebee's Grill + Bar

We had a phenomenal celebration @ Applebee's on New Year's Eve, First, the staff was courteous, interactive, and attentive, they went above & beyond to see that my family and ALL ATTENDED were enjoying the evening. Second, the food was scrumptious hot, and on point. Lastly, the entertainment was so fun and added to the night I would come back especially if there staff was bringing the same vibes high energy.

We visited here on a Monday just after lunchtime, wasn't too busy, only a few people in. Friendly greeting on arrival by Dane, which was lovely and he got us our food in good time. We had pasta and a side dish of fries and I had a chocolate milkshake and a lovely cuppa. Great surroundings, bright, clean, nicely decorated. Loved the little apple carvings out of the backs of the chairs. Food was tasty and milkshake yummy.

We were greeted by great staff immediately and I was surprised how quick we were served.

While it is a chain, Applebee's feels like a high quality restaurant of typical American food. I wholeheartedly recommend the pork ribs with BBQ sauce. The Times Square location is very large. It was not too crowded. Their prices are moderate/high, in line with their high quality.

I came here to celebrate my nanas' 99th birthday. I started at the bar with an amazing perfect margarita. Later, we dined on chicken quesadilla and chicken with fries and broccoli. Let's not forget the lava cake

We were there for New Years Eve! I was with my best friend. We got the VIP tickets to the 3rd floor. Once we were let in, we got a glass of champagne and taken up to the 3rd floor. Our table was set up nice. Once we sat down we found out the table was lopsided. We almost spilled our champagne because the table was so bad. After speaking to the manager we were able to move tables and the 2nd table was fine. My issue with the tables was it was one on top of the other. You basically touched the person's chair behind you. There wasn't much space. It was difficult to get in and out to use the restroom and get your food.

It was not the best experience for me. In my opinion the DJ was horrible on New Years Eve! The DJ kept repeating "Energy, Energy, Energy" and "whose ready for 2024" a million times! The DJ had the music up so LOUD I wasn't able to understand some of the words to the songs. His song choices were not my favorite. (He only played 1 hip hop song for 30 seconds.)
Most of the songs he played was only 30 seconds of a song and then he changed it to another song. You wasnt able to enjoy an entire song. I
also lost my voice because i had to scream to talk to my best friend that sat at my small table with me.

The food was okay. Didn't get any dessert because it was gone once I got up there.

The drinks were good. The BEST part of the night was our server Matthew! We didn't go thirsty and he took great care of us!

Overall, I was disappointed in the experience. Other than our server, the best part of the night was walking outside to watch the ball drop! We were the last people on the street so we weren't smashed and surrounded by a bunch of people. We were pretty far back from the ball drop, but was able to see it.

I have been to this location more than once with my family, most recently today. Each time there were no issues with food or service.

I am writing to address two things specifically.

1) Server Karina is awesome. Karina is nice, has a nice personality, checked-in with us more than once, and even helped out when I knocked over my cup of water...

2) Regarding the 18% included gratuity people are writing about. Yes it is "included" on every receipt. But, it does state it is a SUGGESTION. By no means is it mandatory.

Before you even get your receipt, you can read about the 18% suggested gratuity on the cover of the menu when you get it.

We had an amazing time here.

Three cheese pasta was lovely! Very filling and big portion. Waiter was lovely. :)

Great ambiance here. The wait staff are attentive, friendly and convey an upbeat attitude. This place can be extremely busy, but the wait for a table is definitely worth it. The food is actually very good. The chicken sandwich is delicious; tangy and spicy. The French fries are made just right, crunchy and warm. Chicken fajitas, salads, pasta, seafood and burgers are available on the menu. The drinks are amazing too. Try the daiquries, Pina colada or even the white wine. The seasonal cocktails are fun and tasty. They're prepared by the bartenders with care and pride. Just the right blend of alcohol and various flavors. These drinks taste as good as they look. This restaurant is located in a very busy and active section of the city. The interior of the restaurant is designed with a funky avant garde concept. It's really a cool experience to dine here. There are three levels to this restaurant as well. This restaurant is a group friendly restaurant. Tables are available to sit and dine-in the bar area as well. Overall, dining here is a fun experience. Applebees embodies some of the best qualities of moderate dining NYC has to offer.

It’s always a great time at Applebees! We went for the bottomless boneless wings and they were divine. The wings were hot, fresh, and glistening with the perfect amount of tasty sauce. The french fries were a distraction but a necessary evil, I suppose. Our server Lipu was very attentive and was always quickly refilling the wings and drinks. Even though he was balancing many tables at a time he provided excellent service.

Really fast service and a lovely waitress who was very efficient and was quick to refill our drinks without even asking.
The food was amazing, and I would definitely recommend the 🌮 tacos.
Would definitely visit again.

I come to Applebees a lot and I must say the price change shocked me ! I feel it’s very over priced but again it is NYC! However our server was amazing once again! This is the second time we get Karina and she is so incredible I was very happy we got her again even with how crazy busy it was I couldn’t believe how fast she got our food out to us. Kept checking in getting us refills cracking jokes. You go girl keep up that positive attitude! Made our Christmas !

Eric was our waiter. He had quick service, a positive attitude & great manners. The food and drinks were on point. This is my new fave Applebees location

Seriously the best steak I’ve eaten in a long time. Bourbon St Sirloin Steak medium was cooked to perfection and so tender. Annoyed I didn’t try Applebee’s earlier.

We went here on Thanksgiving without a reservation, so it was quite busy but still the staff managed to make everyone happy. We had an amazing waiter and a great meal and the Long Island Ice tea was so good too. I would definitely recommend going here! (The music was great as well!)

I just eat a steak well done with potato veggies delicious. The service was very nice young people working friendly.you can dine alone your Owen table if you want or at bar I appreciate they give me a table I injoy my meal you can go out alone.or family kids good place.

I had an awesome time with friends and family the atmosphere was great . i wasn’t sure what to eat because the options seemed endless but great thing i had the server named moises he was very knowledgeable on the menu and recommended some of his favorites which by the way was amazing ! My server was very attentive even with the fast volume of the restaurant super impressed. The music was good . I recommend this applebees location such a great experience me and my family will be back again .

Great food. The service was great. Restrooms were clean and tidy.
