Bar and Board Bistro

We just want to do a special shout out to chef Joe Rego at Bar and Board in Newport. 5 course meal prepared and chosen so thoughtfully. Everything was absolutely delicious. If you haven’t paid him a visit yet please do so because you will not regret it! The pasta dish especially probably one of the best meals I have ever had! A Valentines Day to remember ♥

Food amazing. Service spectacular. Atmosphere superb. Wine list fabulous. Entree options plentiful . We were joined by 13 others for a large dinner in Newport on a cold winter evening. The restaurant was full but flowing with adjustments from staff to accommodate. Plates were well represented. Highly recommended for small or large parties.

Really enjoyed our time at bar and board. We were in search of scallops. We found some Nirvana. We will return many times. Great service as well. Great vibe.

The building must have been an old bank with a vault showcased behind a classy, clean bar. We did only have drinks at this establishment but they were on point. Our bartender was an artist. He chilled every glass while shaking drinks a full minute each. Garnishes were pristine. Flavor of drinks were on point. I’m an enjoyer of adult beverages/mixology and I would have stayed there all day if I had my way. Highly recommend for quality drinks.

We had a wonderful night at Bar & Board. The food was phenomenal, the board and main dishes tasted delicious and were well presented; and let’s not forget the yummy cocktails! Definitely recommend and will be back soon.

Great spot for a big or small group. Made a reservation with a group just shy of 20 people. They planned to set us up on the patio, which is amazing, but it rained about an hour before our time, and they set us up inside without us having to ask. Great food and drinks, this place is HUGE overall. Like 3 floors and then some. Come for the craft cocktails and stay for the food. Must go if you are in the area.

Went to Bar and Board Bistro and it's been a tear since I have been there. Let me tell you that this restaurant has come a long way. The food is absolutely outstanding and the drinks and service are just so flawless. Congratulations to the whole team for making my experience so unforgettable.

Honestly was between this and another spot but a random fellow recommended my fiance and I so we went. Let me tell you…..food is absolutely phenomenal. Staff was so friendly and inviting and made the whole experience that much better. The real center piece her was the food. Chefs kiss to the food. We got the flatbread for the appetizer which was awesome. Recommend to anyone who’s looking for a good plate/environment.

It was our 1st time there as well as our guests, and all the recommendations from Chef Joe Rego were excellent . All our meals and appetizers were delicious.

Quite possibly my new favorite place to eat. It’s a really cool restaurant with lots of options and great food. They’ve got a big patio out front, another area has a bar-style vibe, and the upstairs has a more elegant feel. Felt like a choose your own adventure, based on where you sit. It used to be a bank and they kept the vault front and center of the bar. A lot of the decor upstairs has a renaissance feel. The straws are made of gluten free pasta. It’s a small example of the attention to detail by this place. The build your own boards are really good. We did the honey, goat cheese, burrata, duck, and crostinis. I also got the clam chowder which was really good. By the time our entrees arrived we were pretty full, but the entrees were great as well. Then, just for the hell of it, we got the bread pudding and apple crisp to go :) Service was a little slow but very friendly and got everything right. I cannot recommend this place more highly. I’ll be back often for at least drinks, boards, and desserts!

Cons first, the heat lamps are a tad much and the music could be a notch or two lower. The food and service were top notch though. I ate until I felt sick and I kept eating. 11/10 would recommend. That was amazing!

I tried the lasagna, fish tacos, octopus, calamari, clam chowder, and brusselsprouts. Never had lasagna better than that anywhere else and the clam chowder was my second favorite dish here. I am eagerly awaiting my food coma later today.

Underrated restaurant. Everything we tried was delicious. Service was excellent. Oysters were fresh. Scallop was perfectly cooked. Halibut was delicious, well balanced. Lobster Mac and cheese was very yummy.

Amazing!!! The wife and I were in town for a quick weekend get-way and decided to have dinner here. Parking is a bit tricky but we.ended parking in a pay lot about 10 minutes away. Once we arrived, we gave them our names and were lead upstairs to the dining area. I was pleased to see that all the tables were moved away from each other in order to maintain the 6 foot distance. Our waiter was very knowledgable about the menu and helped us decide on what to eat. The food came out quickly and was downright delicious. When in the area, this place is a must.

We've been coming to Bar and Board since we moved to the area 5 years ago. We usually dine at the upper or lower bar and the bar tenders are really great. I must say, the foods always been good, but a new chef started recently and now the food is absolutely delicious (as are the desserts)! I can't get enough of the Statler chicken with butternut squash ravioli- so good!

I love this place! Great food, and build-your-own cheese board option. We also come here for tacos trivia on Tuesday nights and it’s always a good time.

I’m satisfied with the variety of vegetarian options here. The drinks are a little on the pricey side, but the cocktails are creative and very tasty. Overall, I highly recommend it.

Went in on a sunny day in Newport, at first glance the high ceilings and tall table tops stood out and the space was beautiful, we ordered a charcuterie board, and a few small items, everything was delicious, the bartender friendly and knowledgeable,, drinks were also killer, highly recommended, please try

Absolutely delicious!! I should have taken the photo before I started eating but I couldn’t wait!!! Crispy chicken with cannellini beans over fettuccine! To die for. Service was fantastic. Sat in the outside covered area. The sun was in my eyes and without asking the manager lowered the blinds. The staff was very attentive and the restaurant is immaculate. 6 Stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Came here for our 10 year anniversary. Great views and an amazing sunset with amazing, friendly service. And the food is delish too. Definitely order the avocado shrimp stack and the mussels. I haven’t had mussels THIS good in years! Perfectly cooked, flavored and just so so good. Great ambiance and be sure to have a hibiscus margarIta. Just delish!
