We came in Sunday evening for a small dinner and dessert and sat at the bar. The bartender was attentive and filled our drinks quickly. It was pretty empty when we got there but packed when we left. The food was AMAZING. We shared the short rib special and it was so good! For dessert we had the chocolate mousse and bread pudding which were also sooooo good! The restaurant itself was beautiful. Prices were reasonable. Would definitely dine here again!

Very pleasant experience, the place was rather packed by the time we left it, but when seated we were offered more private section. The food was very good and the choice of craft beer is decent. Lobster fish cakes and calamari are my favorites. Snails were more plain, would not advise. Wedge salad is good too.

Zelda’s accommodated our large party at the last second on a busy Saturday night.

The staff was graceful even when there was a miscommunication and our food was served very late and all at once instead of in courses, which was unfortunate initially.

The food itself was really really good. Loved the unique clam chowder, excellent calamari and sea bass.

Had a wonderful dinner with friends for a birthday dinner. Short ribs and seared tuna were excellent. And our server Bridgette was incredibly friendly and helped make it a nice dining experience. Have always loved the atmosphere at Zelda's.

Great drinks and food. Pretty quick service. It was really busy when we first showed up but the hostess was great and took our number to call us back when a table was ready so we were able to just walk around the area in the meantime instead of waiting or going elsewhere. Great atmosphere and nice live music.

Great Staff!!!! AMAZING food. It is a mix between a bar and restaurant atmosphere. It was a little loud but the food and staff made up for it for sure!

I really liked it, steak tartare and escargot. And a turkey sandwich that had so much Turkey he had another sandwich to take home. Jessica was excellent even when it got busy.

Excellent meal! The scallops were expertly prepared. The salmon was fantastic. The sefood bake was delicious. Good beverage selection, too. I like that this restaurant is somewhat of a hidden gem near the end of Thames. Don't waste your time in long lines at some of the other places. Head over to Zelda's instead.

Zelda's is a French influenced menu. Serving sizes are American. The variety and quality of all of the dishes made selection difficult. We had the escargot and "Newport" clam chowder first. We then had the seafood bake and pan seared tuna. The sides were unique and ideal compliments for each entree (partner took pictures, so I can't share) mushroom pilaf and Brussels sprouts with tuna, couscous and seared cabbage with bake.

The smoke and mirrors cocktail perfectly compliments the seafood bake, and partner had a sidecar, done to perfection. I hope we'll get back soon!

Intimate and sophisticated but still family friendly enough that our 9 year old felt comfortable. The food is absolutely exquisite and the service impeccable. We cannot wait to visit again. Reservations HIGHLY recommended.

One of the best French Dip sandwiches that I've ever had! Solid drinks, welcoming bartenders and really, really good food. Recently renovated, the bar is beautiful! It's a definite "must go" if you haven't.

A friend and I stumbled upon the restaurant while strolling in Newport this past weekend. It was early evening on Sunday so the place was quiet, unlike most of Newport's restaurants, and we had a wonderful dinner. We're still talking about the quality of the food, the tasteful decor and the overall dining experience. It's truly a find and we will certainly stop by again the next time we are in town.

Decided to stop in for dinner-no reservation- and waited for only a minute while they made room to accommodate us. I started with a delicious house drink with fresh raspberries and tequila. Wow! Perfect and refreshing. We split the house Caesar salad. The cornbread croutons where a delightful change from the norm. Now I’m a picky eater so I stuck to a filet mignon - it was cooked perfectly and a sizable portion in today’s COVID world where portions can be small - not here! I was hesitant to get the loaded wedges but I did not regret it! My husband decided on the pork pie special. We were informed it was the chefs family recipe. My husband would like to be part of that family. He tried to convince me to go back the next evening for dinner so he could have again. We hope it will be a special for fall so I can have my own. Because the service was so attentive and we didn’t feel rushed we decided to stay for a nightcap and dessert. A wonderful and light Irish coffee and two fingers of whiskey for my husband accompanied a molten lava cake with vanilla ice cream. This was an evening that matched expectation. With many restaurants limited in seating and staff, we felt well attended and welcome. We will make Zeldas a regular rotation on our evenings out.
