Big 5 Sporting Goods

My daughter signed up for soccer for the first time, and it's been a "few" years since I've played, so I wanted to shop at a store where employees would take some time to show me around and explain what to look for in the various items we needed.

I've always had a great experience at various Big 5s, so I stopped into the Poulsbo store first because it was closest. The employees at Poulsbo were clearly NOT interested in helping us out, even though I spoke with two separate people and asked specifically for help. I told my kids I'd rather take my business elsewhere, to a store with good customer service.

We drove to Silverdale, and they did not disappoint! As soon as I walked in, two employees and a manager immediately greeted us and asked what they could help us find. I explained that my daughter had just signed up for soccer, and I would like help finding appropriate cleats, shin guards, socks, etc.. The manager showed us around the store, gave us pointers on what to look for, different features (some of which may not be necessary and added expense), and gave us space to look. While we looked, he and his employees checked in with us frequently enough so we felt helped, but not in an annoying way. :) We left the store with everything we needed and some water shoes, because we'd been meaning to get some of those anyway. I told the manager about how we ended up at his store and thanked him and his staff for the great service.

Got the pool we wanted. Taylor and Alex were able to get in my little car!!

The staff are all wonderful every time I go in there, also knowledgeable and I love the sale they have weekly. Thanks John Jordan and Conner!

Staff was very friendly outgoing and knowledgeable about their products. Prices are reasonable, and they have many optional sporting goods to choose from.
I do recommend Big 5 sporting goods. The manager help me along with an employee they were very professional and outgoing. I felt like the customer comes first at this Silverdale location.

The young man that helped us was very polite and helpful. The store was clean. Will go back again. Friendly and helpful.

Stanford's hospitable this store has almost everything to do with any sport, from fishing guns baseball hockey to clothing and shoes. The store for years and now he's like it.

I come here often they have lots of great things from kayaks to roller blades and very helpful staff I really appreciate their helpfulness and knowledge.

Great experience. Needed something that required a wa state id and the store was willing to sell a few dollar clam license to help me get something with a state tag. Great CS

I don't shop here often but that's simply because I don't have the need to purchase lots of sporting goods. That being said... I absolutely love the Silverdale Big 5 store!!! Every single staff member is always attentive, genuinely helpful and truly goes the extra mile without being asked to do so!! I've never even sensed any sort of negative attitude from anyone working here, let alone experienced one. The prices are great, especially for the selection & quality of the merchandise they offer. The store is always very clean and inviting and each employee seems to have extensive knowledge about whatever I'm in there shopping for. Kudos to whoever does the hiring & training because they've nailed it!! I'd absolutely recommend this store to anyone... Even if they were shopping for groceries 😊

Had forgotten my mask. Thankfully the employee saw me scrambling through my car to find one. She was very polite and gave me one. She was super helpful and attentive to all the customers. She was in sight and available for everyone without pressuring the customers. Great experience.

They have multiple wood baseball bats in the back. Great that I only had to go to one store.

Very helpful employees. I stopped in to do some Christmas shopping for an underprivileged teen. I had a limited budget and the employees went out of their way to help me find great deals to get the young man some of the things he wished for. They helped me get Nike shoes on clearance, plus a military discount. Very nice! I really appreciated their help.

Excellent customer service. I got asked 3 times by 3 different employees if I needed help within the 1st 2 minutes in the store. I was just killing time while my food in the nearby restaurant was being prepared. Not obnoxious, but legitimate offers of help. I felt welcomed and that was important. I almost felt obligated to buy something. I browsed the merchandise and found some good ideas for Christmas gifts. Didnt buy anything but I will be back. I would rather go here based on this experience than their competition. I'm talking to you Dick's and REI...

Very well stocked and I was surprised how fast and friendly service was. I needed a sleeping bag but didn't know how to pick one and the clerk helped by explaining the different types and even asked me if I was going to use it inside or outside and at what temperatures!! I was at REI first but no one to help me so I left. Big 5 is my new sporting and camping store. Thanks Big 5 and your friendly personnel.

Store practically empty so I had the help I needed with hiking boots. Lots of good sales. Sales person very patient with me finding the right boot and right size. I had a coupon for $10 off but it had a minimum purchase price of more than my boots on sale. But the check out person gave it to me anyway. Brought my boots, between the sale and coupon, to less than half the original price. They will have me as a return customer.

Always nice, professional and competitively priced. I got some water shoes for lake swimming and the first pair I got were too big. I brought them back with no hassles and continued friendly service.

Great customer service and they had just what I was looking for. When others were all sold out of skateboards, they had a good selection at reasonable prices. They made my 13 year old's Christmas the best!

Connor is just about the kindest, nicest salesman I've ever come across in my shopping career. That Brian guy is pretty cool too. But he seems like the kind of guy who doesn't say hello back over the phone. Great customer service! 10/10

Big 5 may be smaller than other local sporting goods stores, but they pack a good variety. Recently I went it to find my husband some Sounders gear for his birthday. Although they had shifted from soccer to football, the associate looked for and found me some Sounders beanies...perfect for a December birthday! They run good coupons too!
