Bouchard Inn & Chanterelle Restaurant

Went to Chanterelles last night as part of Newport Restaurant Week. We never go out for French food as husband has severe dairy allergy and few places we’ve tried had been unaccommodating and inflexible. One other Newport county restaurant actually said they only use butter and had no oil! Well, obviously French food can be made without milk products if the chef is as talented as Jessica! This restaurant was absolutely amazing! Thank you Dan for impeccable service and for your engaging personality and thank you Jessica for giving us amazing French food!!!! So sad that it’s taken us 22 yrs of living in RI to finally try out this restaurant but please know, we’ll be back. Amazing… really perfect good and service - thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you.

This was our 2nd time dining at the restaurant and it was again a memorable experience. The ambience which, service and food were all 5 star. Rebecca our waitress was professional and had a great personality. Jessica the chef outdid herself with the delicious food and presentation. Mentioned we were celebrating a wedding anniversary and they gave us champagne. We will definitely be coming back on our next trip to Newport.

I have been to Newport many times but this was my first time staying at The Bouchard Inn. The staff was amazing and the hot apple pastry and yogurt delivered in the mornings were just perfection! Such a great location and having free on site parking was a dream! Will be staying here again.

stayed here for a wedding in the fall and it was perfect. awesome service, rooms are stocked with water/juice/keurig coffee all included, the pastries and yogurt delivered in the morning were hot delicious, perfect location for being downtown. all at a price the blew the big hotels in the area out of the water.

I stayed here in mid-May and was very pleasantly surprised. The service was great! They were very helpful with suggestions on things to do and other places to visit. The customer service was impeccable. I'm gluten free and they even had gluten free lady fingers delivered each morning as part of our complimentary continental breakfast. I've highly recommended eating at their restaurant too! The food was incredible. If I'm in the area again I will definitely stay here again.

The Bouchard is an amazing Inn. We stayed in a room on the back side, by the parking area. Clean, quiet, and a very warm reception. The breakfast was even amazing, delivered to our door. Great location as well. I plan to stay again the next time.

Very nice inn. Room was clean and nice. Located right downtown and close to everything. People, parking and service were all excellent. Must try the French restaurant in the downstairs of the inn is a must try. We've been twice so far and can't wait to return when we visit our son at college in late October again.

We came across the Bouchard Inn as we were looking for a last minute place to stay in Newport. We were able to get one of the last rooms and also booked dinner at the Chantarelle restaurant. We had an easy check-in, the room was beautiful and the restaurant was beyond lovely.

100% will stay there again. Perfectly located to walk to harbor area. A couple mansions are within walking distance as well. Small hotel but rooms were clean, well appointed and the complimentary breakfast was well above expectations.

Friendly and easy to check in. Room good. Comfy bed and room layout / furniture good. Bathroom a little small and shower poor. Low pressure and difficult to adjust. Breakfast yummy. Pastries delicious and fresh fruit yogurt just perfect 👌 😊 Little noisy as overlooking pub, but I didn't find that an issue. White noise machine available but didn't use it.

Delightful! Superior service, but with a friendly low key attitude. The food was outstanding. This was a special treat for our girls weekend away and we loved every minute of it. One of the best filet mignon's I have ever had. Warm, inviting atmosphere. High end without being uptight or trendy. Just lovely.

I loved our experience staying at The Bouchard Inn. Everything, soup to nuts, was exceptional. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. Can’t say enough. Looking forward to returning again soon!

I just returned from a stay at the Bouchard Inn. This place was warm and lovely in so many ways. It was not over the top expensive but our room was spacious, clean and updated. There was a gigantic (maybe oak?) king bed and a soft leather sofa along with lovely furniture that was not your typical bland hotel furniture. Check in was easy and quick and Carmen who showed us to our room was warm and friendly. It’s also located right on the main street and walkable to all the shops and attractions.

Included in the room charge was a big selection of k-cup coffees & teas, (with an in-room Kuerig), orange juice in the mini fridge, free water bottles for each day, and breakfast delivered to our door each morning… which consisted of freshly baked warm apple turnovers and chocolate croissants WHICH WERE TO DIE FOR! Also delivered with that was a yogurt parfait with fresh fruit, but did I mention there were AMAZING WARM FRESH BAKED APPLE TURNOVERS AND CHOCOLATE CROISSANTS?

There is ample private on site parking in the rear and although we did not eat in the Bouchard restaurant, it looked like a cozy white table cloth bistro right out of France. Yes, I loved this place and would highly recommended it for a lovely quiet Newport weekend.

We had a very special anniversary dinner at the Bouchard. Max, our captain, for the evening was outstanding. The courses were delicious and properly spaced apart. We were not rushed at all. We were totally surprised when our dessert was presented with Happy Anniversary in French on the plate. Then Max gave us a flute of champagne to toast. I was busy taking pictures for the beautiful desserts and flipped my flute on to myself and caught the glass. I was totally embarrassed. Max was gracious and replaced my flute. We all laughed. We all had an outstanding experience, and it was relaxing.
Highly recommend the Bouchard for any event you may have.

My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary here and just adored every minute. Dan was the most incredible waiter that we have ever had the pleasure of speaking with. He is a true master at his craft and added so much to the whole experience.

Rebranding and redecorating, yes. Change in food or service, no. Chanterelle is excellent.
I am sorry to whomever was on the other end of the phone call, but the gentleman greeting at the front door put the call on hold to take my coat and wish me a happy birthday. Good start is an understatement.

Max and his back server were 10 of 10. When asked if we would like anything more at the end of service, my response was a profound yes. Restart from the beginning please.

Kitchen timing was perfect. Presentation, tastes, textures very very good.

I won’t be staying anywhere else in Newport, going forward. What an amazing experience! The staff is beyond helpful and friendly. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and have everything you’d need for a good stay. The fresh breakfast delivered to the door was so delicious and it was such a relaxed way to spend a morning. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

I had a fantastic meal here. We started dinner at 8pm and finished at 11:30 and since we were staying at the Inn just had to walk upstairs. Max and Monica were wonderful. They let us know what everything was and kept the service moving through the 5 courses with impeccable timing. They made us feel like we were having dinner with good friends. The rooms were intimate and we were conversing with our neighboring tables in this small restaurant.

Can't say enough about this place. The location is great, walking distance to so many shops, restaurants and bars, and the downtown area. Far enough down Thames St that it's not too noisy outside. Rooms were clean and beautiful, they bring breakfast to your room in the morning and leave it outside the door for you. Such a relaxing way to wake up.

Devin and I had the best romantic dinner here. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, and each course of the prefix meal was better than the last. So much flavor to savor in every bite. And to top it off, we were lucky enough to have the serving team of Max and Marco. Their genuine care and service made this a night to remember. Can’t thank them enough. We are already planning our next visit. Thanks for an amazing evening!
