We had the pleasure of staying at the Admiral Farragut. The room/bed was very comfortable and the whirlpool bath was a nice extra feature. The area was quiet and relaxing while only being 2 blocks from the main strip in Newport. The staff was extremely friendly and breakfast was simply amazing.
We will definitely return :)

Great downtown location. Friendly, attentive staff. Rooms are spacious with massive bathrooms. Two-person jacuzzi tub in every room is a nice touch. Free breakfast every morning. We'll definitely be back!

Staff was nice, place was clean, having a hot tub and fireplace was well worth the price

We ended up booking a room at this inn at the last minute, and we are so glad that it worked out! Rick was incredibly helpful - he regularly called to see if we needed anything and was very hospitable. The historic inn was lovely, our room was clean, the mini fridge was stocked with drinks, and the bed was so comfortable!! And the location can't be beat.

Location was great , easy walking distance to Thames Street and Waterfront. Breakfast was good. Nice place but could use a little upkeep. Overall good experience.

Hallway was dingy and outdated. Looked like they didnt have a good contractor fix repairs in room and in hallway. The location, however, is great! Its a couple minutes from the beach and plenty of shopping/restaurants nearby. Breakfast was fantastic, I wish I could remember the womans name that prepared it.

Wynstone is a nice b&b, however, there seems to be mold (my husband has allergies) and the main attraction, the jacuzzi, doesn't work! There were also ants in the bathroom, no heat (there was a space heater in the room), and cob webs on the pillows. The location is great, but it still doesn't feel like it's worth the price - a hotel
would have been nicer and cheaper. Would love to stay if it was a bit less dingy.

Originally booked at Clarkeston. Innkeep talked me into upgrading my room but failed to mention it was at a different location (The Wynstone). While still pretty central, The Wynstone is at the corner of a busy intersection and the room didn't feel like much of an upgrade. The whole experience felt a bit deceptive.

Great location but very out dated. Nothing like the pictures showed. We stayed for our one year Anniversary. The Jacuzzi bath didn't work and was dirty. We were the only 2 people there in the whole building including staff (just us no one to go to if we needed anything). Not worth the price ( we were left to fend for ourselves, no staff or other rooms rented). We had to go two miles away to get the key to the room and building, then had to return the key back two miles away and no one was there to give the key too. Never experienced anything like it. Very out dated! Would stay in the same location again but not that place! You can get much more for your money elsewhere!!!!!!

Location is very close to main strip, walking distance but not too noisey to be disturbed. Back staircase/entrance (that they said we could use) was extremely cluttered and unusable. Dirty/clean bags of blankets & towels laying on top of stairs. This “hotel” is an air B&B vibe no staff available in building all day except for Early morning for breakfast. She’s just there to cook breakfast , that being said breakfast was phenomenal. Mattress was HORRIBLE to the point where we left a night early, it was that bad . My back is still in pain… would not recommend for paying over $400 a night. You’de atleast expect a microwave in the room and a nice tv to watch in the bed.

Awful service. Disingenuous staff/owner.
