The best malasada donuts I have ever had. The guava was delicious but the costumer service was even better.

They’re are extremely good and better than Leonard’s Bakery. 100% would have again!

I finally got lucky enough to think about trying to pre- order 2 weeks ahead of time and was able to try the limited flavors available on the pre- order. They did not have Ube for pre- order but they had it in person. Service was easy, just stand in line and pick up your order. So, I wouldn't call these malasadas. The dough is not chewy and malasada- like. It's on the dry, lighter, smaller side and this sounds strange but I felt the filling to dough proportions was actually too much. Too much filling? I couldn't believe i was saying this. But the fillings were okay. Liliko'i tasted like lemon. Strawberry guava and Haupia were okay. It was nice to try once but it's not malasadas, more like a pricey small filled donut.

I dream about the malasadas I had in Hawaii.. hot, soft, and fluffy filled with cream.

I found Ocean Malasada at the Emperor Norton's Bazaar, and the malasadas I got were none of what I wished it would be. Their menu on OTG's side listed ube, nutella, etc malasadas, but turns out they're only doing holiday special flavors: Hot Cocoa (plain, dusted with cocoa powder and powdered sugar), Red Velvet (easily just the plain dyed red), and Charcoal/Coal (which looked like plain with activated charcoal maybe?).

I got the hot cocoa and red velvet, and was utterly disappointed and underwhelmed... Dry, dry, DRY, and plain.. kind of like an overpriced plain donut hole... Totally not worth the $2.75 EACH (and they're pretty small too), total $11 for 4.. Really wish I could get a refund, but I guess it is what it is.

Really wanted to like them, as I love malasadas, and have ordered from them a few times (during the pandemic they are selling out of daly city). Unfortunately, their customer service is terrible and they're quite rude. If you like them making errors with your orders and not apologizing for said errors, feel free to stress yourself out and buy from them.
