I feel like my Newf Penny receives better care than I do! If you want a clinic that has a "community" feel, with a vet that you can trust, then this is it. It doesn't feel like you're in a conveyor belt as most larger practices tend to have. You can tell that Dr. Howard cares more about the animal than your feelings, and he has a comforting presence that the animals feel. It's great!

I never leave reviews but have been coming here for nearly 2 years now. Dr. Freidman and his staff are great people to work with and they truly care about the pets they work with. Highly recommended.

This doctor is one in a million. You can feel his care, professional and most importantly love and care for all living things!

I cannot recommend this clinic and Dr. Friedman enough! When my partner and I moved to Sammamish and adopted a kitten, we were looking for a really good vet to get our kitten the best possible care. We got him neutered, vaccinated, and all that, and they took such great care of our cat and it seemed that both our cat and us, had a great experience and decided 3 years ago, this will be our new vet. A few days ago, our cat started getting extremely sick so I called, and they immediately setup an appointment for the next day. I was nervous because everytime I've taken pets to the vet, they're absolutely terrified of going and that can be a pain in itself, but our cat seemed to actually like going there. As soon as we walked in, he was calm and relaxed, and seemed very comfortable during the exam when he's normally terrified of other people and tries to run away from them - so I think that says something! Dr. Friedman was extremely helpful and quick with providing his opinions, treatment plan, and further options if he got worse. He was honest and I never once felt like anyone tried to upsell me on things I didn’t actually need. Unfortunately, our cat got worse and we had to take him to the animal ER. I called to update him and he was very sincere and provided me with information that helped the animal hospital treat our cat more efficiently and effectively, and had his x-rays emailed to me so I can provide them to the ER since it was shortly after closing. Unfortunately, we're still helping our cat get through this, but throughout this whole experience, Dr. Friedman has shown an immense amount of sincere compassion, knowledge, and has gone above and beyond, as well as helped in ways that other vets haven't and I greatly appreciate it as it has lessened the anxiety we've had during this. As long as they're still practicing and I'm in WA, we will always be going here - whether it be emergencies or wellness visits/vaccinations. With family pets in the past, it can be difficult to find a vet that REALLY cares about the pet and providing the best care possible, doesn't try to upsell you on foods or other things the pet doesn't actually need, or is really involved after the visit, but this place strives to do right for both the pets and the owners. If you're looking for a veterinarian, I cannot recommend this place more!

Wonderful Vet. I drive over 40 min just to keep my dog going here.

The staff was very helpful and friendly; the location is super easy to get to and really charming; the doctor was friendly and approachable; I could tell he was gentle and cared about my furry child. Even though I was a first-time patient they were willing to try to get me in same-day! Their prices are very reasonable. I am so happy to have found Cougar Mountain Vet and will definitely be going back! I highly recommend!

We love doctor F! We are fairly new to his practice but are so happy with both him and his staff. He calls to check in on your pets and is very fair with pricing.

Still so happy with Dr Friedman and his staff and he still calls to check up on them after surgeries or if they hadn't been feeling well. He's so great!

With a newf and two aging cats we needed an amazing vet and that is what we found in Dr. Friedman. It's been nearly a year since we lost our cats and you learn a lot about people's character during those times, Dr. Friedman was comforting, understanding, and supportive through the process. I am so appreciative of his care. With our Newf, he is incredibly knowledgeable and gracious. I always appreciate his suggestions and recommendations (he's not pushy) and refer him whenever I can!

We love Dr. Freidman and the entire team at Cougar Mountain Vet! You can tell everyone here truly cares about the health of visiting pets, and love their flexibility in getting us in for scheduling purposes and last minute emergencies. This team is a true gem!

I drive an hour to take my Aussie to him!! I tried other vets close by but no one compares to Howard!! He always calls back to check in. When my dog was involved in an accident on a long weekend he called me right back to make sure he was okay and offered to come in on a Saturday! His many years of experience are invaluable. You can tell he truly cares for his patients!!

My wife called literally 7 different Vets being turned away from each for a strange swelling in our pit bulls face. This place not only took on our child, and at 445pm without heartache and the process was simple. The staff went above and beyond for us and her. We appreciate these people for caring for our family member. Having a family of rescued pit bulls we get a lot of different looks from many folks, vet's. But Cougar Mountain veterinary took us on and for that we will make certain all of our kids have on going care program. We really respect the love for our kids aka pets dogs. Top notch.

Dr Howard is thorough and sweet. His prices are reasonable. I was really nervous finding a new vet when I moved to Washington but they made me feel at home. I trust them completely. This means a lot considering I'm in the human medical field and overthink everything

Dr. Friedman is incredible. He is super knowledgeable, extremely reasonable, always makes time to see our dog promptly when we need help and....he called to follow up on how our dog was doing. That's rare. We are so lucky we found him.

Dr. Friedman is an angel. My pup was rushed to the vet while in another State, and Dr. Friedman gave me a second opinion on the other vet's diagnosis. It gave me the confidence to proceed with the recommended treatment. He even called the next day (on a Saturday) to check in. I was not expecting the follow up call. Do not hesitate to bring your fur babies here. Dr. Friedman truly loves animals and will take care of your loved one!

My husband and I take our dog to see Dr Friedman for regular check ups and when she is sick. He has been such a great veterinarian! He explains things well, very knowledgeable, and caring. He even called us to check on our dog after she was seen at another vet due to a small emergency. Awesome doctor and highly recommended!

I took my dog to Dr Friedman for the past 10-11years. He is an outstanding doctor who obviously loves animals and also is very compassionate to their owners. Had my dog in to see Dr. Friedman quite a few times over the last few months and the charges were always surprisingly low. If you are looking for excellent, personal service at a very reasonable/low cost you cannot beat Dr. Friedman. HIGHLY recommend this veterinarian and when I decide to get another animal he will be the vet I go back to.

My Golden became sick very quickly, only 8yrs old, head/eye hurt and could barely walk - really thought we might lose him. My old vet (associated to PetSmart) could only offer pain meds and some antibiotics, when I asked about acupuncture, they thought it might be helpful... and then I found Dr. Friedman :)
Not only did he make my dog feel 100% better within a week and one session of acupuncture, but it was they way he works with the animals, that you could really see the difference - he really cares about each animal. He spent a good hour with us, talking, touching, answering my questions...calming my dog as he began the acupuncture treatment.
Dr. Friedman is exactly what you hope for, when your pet is sick and you need someone you can trust. I couldn't imagine ever going anywhere else!

Excellent!! They truly care about animals. Yes the place is small and parking is hard and the guy may be a little abrupt on the phone, he's busy giving excellent loving care to our animals. Jack and Mable had teeth cleaning done here and being a nervous mom I was so worried. They were loved and well cared for. Highly recommend.

Always easy to work with and they get my kitty’s special food quickly if they are out. Highly recommend.

Dr. Friedman is simply the best - there is no place I'd rather take my pets. I have 3 dogs and they all love him as well. He is knowledgeable and thorough - and very accommodating (and also very funny). I love that when I make an appt I get in right away, and I get to see HIM, not some random vet or pseudo vet assistant. It's not some sterile unfriendly place that just pushes appts through. I've gone to other places and never seen the same vet twice. If you don't like his phone manners, get over it. You'd be missing out by not coming here.
