Cactus Kirkland

Based on reviews, we went with reasonable expectations and I’m glad we picked this place for a no-reason weekend family dinner. The food was good, we tried the crowd favorites mentioned in other reviews. The unique picks were the flautas and ahi-tuna tacos, both hit the spot. It was a busy evening but I can’t fault the service. The food, to borrow their words, is not authentic, it’s Cactus.

Food is consistently good. The service has been hurried the last two times. Granted it’s popular or weekend nights, still it’s too rushed and impersonal. Drinks are watered down too. Of course the food is still some of the best Mexican you’d get in Kirkland. The Birria tacos are 💥

Really good Mexican inspired cuisine. The cheesy avocado dip and the corn and avocado flautas were great! The brisket burrito was big and well worth it. The brisket chimichanga was small compared to the burrito but it tasted great. The chicken fried chicken has this incredible chorizo gravy which goes so well with the dish.

We came here for dinner, the food was delicious, the staff was attentive and friendly. I was really impressed with the cleanliness of the whole restaurant and their bathroom, I love it when places are clean and well kept. They also had notes posted about how cleanliness is important to them and to please let them know it there are any issues. Some places say that or they have the check sheet in the bathroom but then it's a hot mess so it feels like a facade. With how clean it was it felt like they are genuinely concerned about keeping it clean! Overall a lovely experience, will definitely come back!

Had dinner with my wife. Service was excellent, the atmosphere was great. Super clean including the bathrooms. Had the carne asada, the tortillas were awesome, but it only comes with two. I asked for 2 more and there was no charge, and 4 was the perfect amount! Would highly recommend!

Really impressed with the food and quality of service!

We went out for a family dinner (10 adults and 2 infants) and were happy to have somewhere that can seat us. I've been to Cactus before a few years ago and while I had positive experiences, I didn't remember the food being this good! We got a lot of different dishes (brisket burrita lenera, carne asada, steak salad, tuna poke, etc..), and literally everyone loved their food! All the meat in particular was done very nicely. This is not common since the group includes a picky bunch. All

Service was also pretty good. The food arrived quickly and we got every random extra thing we asked for (extra cutlery for the babies, napkins, etc). Our server gave us time to order and helped answer all our questions.

I highly recommend the brisket burrita lenera.

Great upbeat spirit, fun atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly, attentive service! Jackie recommended the Cojita Chicken seasonal entree, and it was excellent! The grits were especially superb! The Macho Mango Picante Margaita was delish - also a seasonal item.

You can never really go wrong with Cactus. I’ve been to all three locations and love my experience every time. I almost always get the shrimp tacos and the burritos are also sizable.

The Kirkland location is impeccable on a summer’s night. Just a great place to enjoy friends, family, and delicious food.

Everything tastes great , portion size is also good. I love the complimentary dessert offered..

Great food and great service. Everyone enjoyed their meal and of course the portions provided leftover for lunch the next day. Really enjoyed the salsa that came with the chips. I had the Chicken fried chicken and it was delicious.

Blown away. I moved to Seattle 6 months ago from San Diego and I've been searching for good Mexican food. This is it. Deliciousness. Absolutely delicious. The vibe is friendly, the bar seating very comfortable. I had the tamarind strawberry lemonade, pineapple shrub, cauliflower soup, and chorizo enchiladas. Superb. I will definitely be coming back.

Great Southwestern food. I got the Carnitas tacos. The meat had a great crispy crust, and the cilantro and onion went perfectly.

Great cocktails and appetizers.

I wish I had taken pictures of the things we ordered because it was all delicious. We ordered the Austin Style Guacamole which was so good. The salsa is the best we’ve had in Washington since moving here three years ago. We also ordered a Smoked Chicken Quesadilla and the Butternut Squash Enchiladas, both were absolutely delicious. Everything was so good that we took the leftovers home which we never do. We ended the meal with their Cuban flan which was just as delicious as the rest of the meal. It was a great first visit!

The food is great and the location is amazing. On a nice day, I suggest sitting outside. I loved that they had some great vegetarian options.

This place is a vibe! We went there for a birthday dinner and it did not disappoint except that they were out of jackfruit. :(
We ordered the Watermelon Cucumber Margarita, the Liquid OaXaCa, and the Cactus coffee to begin with. The Watermelon Marg was refreshing. Then we ordered the Crispy Squash Blossoms which were nice but the quantity did not match the price. For the main course, we ordered the Butternut Squash Enchiladas, the Cactus Fajitas, the Ancho Chicken, and the Chorizo Verde Tacos. I loved the Cactus Fajitas with Portobello mushrooms. Because it was a birthday dinner, they got us a complimentary Three Milk Cuban Flan, which was so rich and quite sweet, but I liked it.

Food was absolutely amazing. Drinks were good. The staff was helpful and friendly. Perfect place for my birthday dinner. We will definitely be back ❤

My family ordered for delivery at the Kirkland location tonight. Once it was delivered, one dish was missing. I called the restaurant and the manager Jack was very sorry, sat in his own car and delivered it personally to my doorstep. What a service and extremely kind gesture!!!! We dine at Cactus Kirkland for many years and love it… and the staff is just amazing. Thank you!

This area of downtown Kirkland is totally walkable and fun. Cactus seemed like the place to be. It was packed at dinnertime with dining both inside and out. We hung out in the bar for about 15 minutes then we're able to grab a booth. They've got some very creative Mexican inspired fare. We zeroed in on the Brisket Burita (they smoke there own brisket) and it was really good. Good balance of ingredients and the brisket starred. We also had the tasty Chop Chop salad. We tried a selection of drinks and enjoyed everything we chose. Our server was attentive and had a quirky fun personality. Made for a fun night out!
