Virginia City Cafe

Since the Virginia City Cafe is the only open restaurant in Virginia City in mid-September, it is correspondingly crowded. We barely managed to get the last table and were expecting a long wait. But that wasn't the case, the service and the kitchen were quick and attentive despite the crowds. The food is good and inexpensive, overall we were very satisfied.

Good simple, American cafe. Delicious burgers and the kids meals have large portions.

Surprisingly good food! The burger was decent, tasty fries and super friendly service. Also loved the Italian soda with peach and cream 😋 It is a little pricy for what it is, but that’s normal for the area.

Great food, great service. My bison burger wasn't as good this year as it was the year before but that's one of the main reasons we came back. The waitress was better this time around though. As far as we know she's in Peru right now. She shared her adventurous soul with us and I can't get her off my mind. A sweet gal and you've lost a good server.

Ordered a western burger, most excellent burger. Excellent portion for the price. The menu is reasonably priced considering being a tourist haven. Waitress provided top notch service and was very attentive of her customers she was waiting on. Absolutely recommend this place.

The Best American breakfast had in the USA by far! Eggs Benedict amazing.

Friendly service, really good burger

Don't know why the lower rating but the burger I got was slightly overcooked but delicious. The Philly was good also. French fries were the smaller cut which I like for the crunchy little ones. Service was excellent and quick. Beer and liquor is served next door at the Pioneer bar which is accessible without going outside. Would definitely come back.

Thankfully this was a delicious breakfast! I say that because there were not any other places to eat that were open early. Really a great breakfast, exceeded expectations and very decent pricing. Thank YOU!

Great little place. We were there on a Saturday and they were short of help. One server was working all the tables. She just explained her predicament, worked each table in order, brought water pitchers to the tables and got the job done. She told us all the items they were out of (we were late for lunch) and it was still great! Considering the circumstances, it didn't take that long to get our meal and the food was good.

We ate here on our way to Yellowstone. The food and service were great. We would definitely stop here again on another trip. We loved the old buildings and the history of this place. I imagined what it would have been like back in the western days. Wow, just Wow.

Showed up for lunch, the labor shortage is affecting them, but the employees had great attitudes. Food was tasty, especially the Sampler. Good experience.

We didn't eat here but we stopped in for some water. Prices are pretty cheap for a tourist place and the water was free and tasted clean. The service was also very nice.

Ordered bisquits and gravy with hash browns. Might be tourist priced but excellent breakfast and more than wife or I could eat. I had leftovers the next day and was a happy camper twice.

I had the VC Dip and fries. The french dip sandwich was very tasty! I would recommend this menu item, it'll be what I buy if I ever go there again.

It is a good option to eat in the place, the food is freshly prepared and with good ingredients. The prices are accessible, the attention is very good

Great place excellent food and drinks

Not sure why this only has 3.8 stars. At least for breakfast I'll give a 5 - basic with only 4 options (pancakes, French toast, eggs/hash browns, biscuits and gravy), but it was cooked well. Good coffee latte too.

We were glad VC café was open until 8. Two of us ordered hamburgers, and one ordered chicken strips. Both come with fries. The food was delicious, and our waiter was great.
