Wonderful authentic German food. Great atmosphere. We ate here two years ago, and we made sure we stopped by again when we were in the area. Make sure to add this place to your stops!

We didn’t go there because we’re German but because we liked the quaint interior.
Our server was awesome, she ran the whole place all on her own and was going 100mph without missing out on anything.
The food tasted delicious, we had burgers and potato and cucumber salad on the side. While the restaurant claims that some of the dishes are German, we wouldn’t confirm that the sides, like the potato and cucumber salad, were traditionally German or tasted like at home but we didn’t care at all. We’d never demand food to taste like at home. If we would, we could as well just stay at home :)
Lovely place! Absolutely recommend.

We are in town to stay at our Airbnb and decided to have dinner here at the German restaurant. And what a great idea. The atmosphere was warm and cozy with lots of fun decor.
Maggie took the best care of us and the food was delicious. Highly recommended!

We were the only ones in as it was off-season. The hostess/owner was so attentive and really made it an experience by explaining what the food was and how it was prepared. The mulled wine and the peach cider were delicious! I had a schnitzel Reuben and was very happy. My friend had the pierogies and sausage. There was so much food that you could not see the bottom of his plate at all!
While we waited it was great to see all the memorabilia on the walls. 😁

Ten stars for the owner, Maggie. She's the real deal. The food was comfort food heaven although a bit pricey. And the atmosphere was laid back with a great music Playlist sounding in the background.

great lunch spot in a quaint historic town- love the wood sidewalks!
I had the Grilled Brat sandwich & dw had the Curry Wurst meal- both with homemade krout and german potato salad- all yummy!
before we dug in we had to talk mustard with the server- we opted for the stone ground mustard and it was great!!
after lunch was the walk thru town on the wood sidewalks- don’t miss going into the candy store and the museum and various other shops. nice afternoon!!

Historic building housing a great restaurant where the owner waits tables while her daughter cooks the food.

Very good food, creative daily specials and changing side options.

This restaurant would be a hit in a big city - it's an exceptional find in this out of the way location.

Cool old west style interior/exterior, with great German fare and American fare also. The building was built in 1863 during the Civil War. The same year the Virginia City township was founded. The building served as some saloons over the years and then a library in 1918. Lots of history in this restaurant, with great food and courteous, attentive service.

My Granddaughter and we’re visiting Virginia City, stopped in for a snack, split a Huckleberry Blue Cheese Burger.
Delicious! So good and different! I expected it to be sweet, it wasn’t and it didn’t need to be. It was just outstanding.
Maggie and crew did it again, delicious food. Did I mention the fries? Best in Montana! Hot, crispy, cooked just right.

We didn't expect to find a German restaurant here. As a German, I can say the food is good. We came before it got busy and would definitely recommend the place. We were curious how a Germany restaurant made it to Virginia City but the lady wasn't 100% sure. Very interesting though.
