Virginia City Shortline Railroad

This is fun little tourist train that goes between two historic gold rush towns that area mile and a half apart. During the ride, the conductor tells about some of the history of the area. The ride lasts about 20 minutes each way. It leaves from Virginia City on the hour, and from Nevada City on the half hour. If you come on a weekend, the train fills up fast, so stop at the Depot first thing to buy your ticket. You choose your departure time and your return time when you buy your ticket. Tickets are sold in person only, and for only the current day.
