What a great shop! My daughter will be working at a remote salmon hatchery this summer & wanted a good knife. The owner took his time helping her explore options and showing her features & how to use them safely. She bought a beautiful Benchmade Auto Triage for a great price (she got a discount for paying cash). Highly Recommend!

I was in Juneau last week on a cruise and stopped in to look for Ulu knives. I met Anthony there who showed me the knives and helped me find what I wanted and gathered my information to ship them back home. I asked about the bowls and they were out of stock. But Anthony gave me his cell number to check in with him about them later. I texted him today and he immediately answered with pictures. I was able to place an order and he’s going to get them shipped out to me right away! He has gone above and beyond and actually all the staff in the store that day was very friendly. My Mom was looking for some particular items and they gave us suggestions and directions to a few places that might have what she needed. I can’t say enough about them and if I ever make it back to Juneau, I’ll definitely stop back by.

Anthony has a passion for the knives and loves to share his knowledge. There are many ulu's around town for far less money...but i suggest flipping the box over to see where they are made!!!! Alaskan Knifeworks states all materials are Alaskan/US made. They even have original style ulu's made from jade!!!

Not sure why I popped into this location - most likely waiting on some friends before heading back to the cruise ship - but glad I did. Had no idea of the selection of knives that were available. Even though I wasn't in the market for one at the time, I got a ton of information from Anthony, soo informative that when I am ready to buy, I'll have the information needed to make the right decision. What an array of blades AND great background on the different types of blades. If you want the best in selection And information, Alaska Knives will have what you need.

My dad and I just bought a knife. It is unbelievably beautiful. Our understanding is that this knife is a marriage between Kershaw and Alaska Knifeworks. It is a high quality steel but more importantly, it is what some might call a "gentleman's knife." The handle is made of petrified mammoth tooth and has a gorgeous pattern and coloration. The person helping us (Anthony) find exactly what we were looking for was patient and we had a lot of fun visiting with him. This is a great store and my second visit in the last 5 years. I highly recommend going here if you want to find a knife that is absolutely different and beautiful. They are able to ship the knives home to avoid any challenges that you may have if you need to cross the border. As a result... Pictures to follow!

One additional note... It is my understanding that they attempt to have everything in the store built in Alaska, preferably, and if not Alaska, in the United States.

Fantastic shop. My son and I cruised in on Carnival. Walking into this shop you can see it's run by Alaskans and selling Alaskan handcrafted knives as well. I love the show Life Below Zero and had to get a woman's knife the Ulu knife. Just beautifully made with an antler handle designed with a salmon. Perfectly fitting. I also bought a filet knife forged with a non-rusting steel. Lastly, I bought an Anchorage made pocketknife. Gorgeous pieces and since I was on Carnival the shipping was free. There was a man with all the knife knowledge and a kid with a happy that made you want to come back. (He is the reason I ventured back to the store) He was happy about Alaska which made me want to buy more knives. Great atmosphere and a view right off the water. Felt good to be Alaskan even if just for a bit. Thanks guys. I apologize for not remembering your names. I hope to come back and buy more knives in the future.

What a wonderful place to purchase a knife. Anthony was amazingly helpful and knowledgeable about all the knives in the shop. By far was the best knife store we went to in Alaska. Anthony I will be sending you those Tamales.

Tony showed us around the store and sold me one of their extremely cool hats. I would have bought one of their knives but we arrived by cruise ship. Awesome knife shop!

We stopped here on a cruise and were so happy we did. The prices are good and the customer service is great. Vince is AWESOME! He understands and appreciates knives. He is concerned about selling you the knife that works best for you. He is not going to give you the hard sell.
The selection is really good. They carry known brands but also amazing. Alaskan custom knives. As much as you fight it, when you pick up one of their Alaskan knives, you will say in your best Aussie accent, "That's not a knife...that's a knife." I just wished I had more expendable income. Great shop with great people. Thanks guys!!!!

This was my second time in the shop. They have great local knives but I come here because they have some unique William Henry Knives. I’m a big fan. I didn’t end up getting one today but I did the last trip. They made the shipping easy and they held it so that it arrived at my home the day after I got home! Really nice and genuine people! Great selection!

Ryan was incredibly helpful. We came in original thinking about buying a Ulu. However, buying a gift for a fisherman we spoke with Ryan about the styles of knives and ended up buying a fish flaying knife with a Caribou handle specifically make for Knifeworks. Would 💯 go back to Ryan again and buy more things. His knowledge was vast and he was so kind!

I came to Juneau on a cruise ship to do glacier related things and wanted an authentic keepsake to remind myself of the journey.

Ended up at the shop afterwards and purchased an obsidian knife. The guys were friendly and enthusiastic, and now I've got an authentic piece of Alaska sitting on my mantle.

It gets lots of complements, and plenty of oohs and ahhhs when combined with a story.

TL:DR cool shop. good products. expensive, but you get what you pay for. 10/10 would do again

Friendly service with a great selection of knives, featuring the ubiquitous 'ulu', found in most Alaskan gift shops. This place really has knowledgeable staff that understand knife works and blades of all sorts. A great stop on your visit into this particular port of call.
