We had an awesome river float trip at Mendenhall Glacier and our guide, Larson was top notch!! He was a pro, managing the 10 person raft down the fast river!! It was so beautiful and definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Alaska and the river was just fast enough to be fun and exciting. Highly, highly recommended if you want to see the natural scenic beauty and wildlife (eagles) in Juneau.

We took our 5yr old daughter with us on a kayaking trip to Mendenhall Glacier during our recent cruise to Alaska. The team was extremely well organized and absolutely amazing with our daughter, specifically Mckaylee who allowed our daughter to kayak with her. She was sweet, patient, kind and made a huge impression on us and our little one. We couldn’t thank her enough. We also couldn’t imagine using a different team. Thank you McKaylee and the rest of the team for a wonderful bucket list experience! Our pictures don’t do justice to the scale of this location nor just how beautiful it was. Don’t hesitate to book your next excursion with this group!

Our rafting guide, JASON was amazing! He was very knowledgeable and kept us safe while still having so much fun! These views are unbelievable, you can’t put a price to that. We saw a great view of a bald eagle and salmon, jumping all around us.
Shout out to Beck also for helping us get on shore safely!
This is a great company, and I highly recommend it for our families and adult individuals alike.

Larson said to use Google but my husband is old and gave him a review using Yelp. Larson was perfect for our trip down the river. We had 3 kids with us and he was great with them. He made sure everybody got splashed and pointed out tons of eagles which they really enjoyed. He didn’t get us stuck so we didn’t get to bounce the boat, maybe next time. He stayed true to his word that we would not fall out the raft. So definitely 5 stars!

Upon arrival, we were given waterproof overalls, water boots, and life vests. Our stuff was locked in a truck and was driven to the end point.
Our group thoroughly enjoyed having him as our guide. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything in great detail. We felt safe and had a blast! Our group talked and laughed the whole way down the river. At the end, they gave us hot cider, water, veggies, dip, and reindeer sasuage! Beautiful day on the water.

Had a fantastic Mendenhall Glacier float trip. Jason was sensational! He was very friendly and fun! Jason went over the top to make sure we got all the photo opportunities we wanted. We saw several bald eagles! One bald eagle was eating a fish on the bank… super up close view! Javier was also helpful and very friendly!

This tour is the absolute best way to experience the natural beauty of Alaska! My husband and I took the guide-paddled version of the tour, and had the time of our lives. The tour company provided waders, rubber boots and life jackets for everyone so no one got soaked clothes or shoes, and our guide Jason gave us clear and thorough safety instructions before we started our float trip. Jason was an amazing tour guide and a skilled paddler and made sure that our group had a fun, safe whitewater adventure! Many thanks to Jason for such an informative and fun afternoon, and to our bus driver Sophia for educating and entertaining us on the way to the river and back to the pick-up point. It was definitely a bucket list experience!!

It was absolutely amazing, it was such a beautiful sight and experience!! We had Jason as our tour guide, he was absolutely amazing, told us a lot about the history behind it all and had a lot of great things to say! He was such a bright and encouraging person, thanks to Jason we had an amazing time on the water! I definitely give them a 10/10 and would definitely recommend them!

We had a fantastic time today on our rafting trip. Larson was our guide and he was great. He was informative, funny, and made sure we were all having a good time. His mom should be very proud.😉 Thanks for being so much fun. We highly recommend this tour. It was organized and really fun.

My son and I booked the Best of Juneau excursion and it was incredible! The whale watching with Captain Terry and Libby was exceptional! They were great guides! I saw everything I wanted to…whale tail, whale lunging and a baby whale playing in the water.
The mendenhall glacier experience wasn’t great. If I were to do it again, I’d skip the hike as go to the visitors center and view points.
The Salmon Bake was fun and the atmosphere was so peaceful. I wish I’d known there was more than just food…reading other reviews it looks like there’s a small hike to a waterfall and some gold panning activities. Take some time to look around! Overall, amazing!

First time experiencing Juneau and did this kayaking experience with my small group while Jake was our guide. AMAZINGLY beautiful weather, equipment was in great shape and appropriate for tour, Jake was knowledgable and had a sense or humor, and we caught some amazing photos of the glacier and bald eagles! Great overall experience highly recommend! 👌🏼

This experience was AWESOME! Larson was a great guide who took safety and fun very seriously. He put all of us newbies at ease and made sure everyone had a really great time! Tip: they'll provide boots so your shoes don't get wet, but do yourself a favor and bring spare socks to put on after.

Our family went on Alaska Adventure's raft and float down the Mendenhall Glacier River this morning, and it was a highlight of our trip. The river crew was helpful and knowledgeable, both in preparing and gearing up for the trip and as we moved down the river. We had kids with us, too-ages 11, 9, and 6, and they were entertained by our guide, Jason, the entire time. He was amazing, and we will definitely be recommending this experience to friends who may come to Juneau.

We did the glacier kayak adventure today!! Allegra was a superb guide! She was inclusive of all of her group; she was knowledgeable and really cool! We saw a young bald eagle, seagulls, turns, and even saw the Chester twins (harbor seals)! On our way back to shore someone spotted a jellyfish, and Allegra got so excited; it made us appreciate it more! I would do this again, in a heartbeat and would recommend this excursion to anyone, young or old! Thank you Allegra!!

Such a wonderful experience on the Mendenhall Glacier River Float (excursion booked through NCL). Our rafting guide JASON was amazing! He demonstrated expert skill in navigating the raft, knowledge of the river (and the recent changes due to the flooding) and wildlife, and kept us safe (we "stayed in the boat") while still having so much fun! Jason is very personable and entertaining which added to the enjoyment of our trip. Our group consisted of adults ranging in age from 50 - 79 and we all felt safe and had an extraordinary time...the guided float is a fantastic experience for all ages. Our only complaint was the advertised "snack" - it didn't hit the mark. But overall, it was a great experience, and we highly recommend Alaska Travel Adventures.

My wife, 7-year old son, and I enjoyed the Mendenhall Glacier canoe ride on June 9th. Blake, our guide, was both personable and knowledgeable of the area and wildlife. Our journey felt like it was more special than the likely easier hike from the museum. The canoe ride was not strenuous and took between 30 and 45 minutes. The photos we took from the canoe of the glacier and nugget waterfall were probably better than what you can take from the hike, plus we were given snacks at the waterfall and at the end of our trip!

We had a fabulous experience today kayaking around the Mendenhall Glacier! Our tour guide was Nolan, he was very informative and helpful! We got to see bald eagles and seals and captured some wonderful views of the glacier!

I loved our Wilderness Sea Kayak from Sitka from start to finish! The fast inflatable boat ride across the bay was very beautiful. Launching from the float house docks was a really fun new experience, described and demonstrated so simply by the guides that no one in our big group of many types of humans struggled. The relaxing actual paddle through crystal clear, peaceful water around the island got my blood pumping but gave me all the time to enjoy the giant jellyfish and beautiful lichens we saw, plus scour the land- and seascape for bigger wildlife. Sharing a vessel and meaningful conversation with guide Stevie (pictured) meant I listened when she recommended the hot sauce with my bowl of chowder after the trip, and I have no regrets at all about this day. Would only have stayed on the water as long as they let me, per usual! Thank you!

Addison was awesome! We had a good time floating the Mendenhall lake and river next to the Glacier. We saw a seal, eagles and salmon along the way. They provided all the gear and took care of everything! Fun tour and definitely recommend!!!

Awesome adventure kayaking in the beautiful Alaskan wilderness on a gorgeous lake and amazing glacier too!!! Our guide Makaylee was absolutely wonderful, super friendly, fun and full of information about Alaska and all we were seeing. We even saw a porcupine and a seal in the fresh water lake. Also assisting us Aw Courtney and Allison, what a great group of girls! Super fun and they really added to the fantastic experience! Thanks so much!!!
