Dama Restaurant and Pastry

Great food! 🤤 The server was so nice that even though we didn’t ask for it, she brought us an extra food item for our 19 month old toddler hoping he would eat with us 🥰 It is popular among local Ethiopians in VA and DCA area. We were the only non-Ethiopian couple but we were felt very welcomed.

Staff is great. Smilingly helped us with our choice. The cake is amazing and generous portions. Even the vegan cake was good. Ordered the vegetarian plates. Greatly satisfied. Can not say enough about the service

We had such a great time and amazing food at Dama! The service was fantastic and the food was awesome. Our party of five ordered a variety of entrees and all of them were great. We all enjoyed the experience and would 10/10 recommend.

Hands down our favorite Ethiopian restaurant in the area. Family vibe, hearty food, friendly servers. Our go to are vegetarian platter plus Tib Wot. Cakes are must try, too.

My kids are from Ethiopia and we LOVE Ethiopian food! We were so excited to find this place close to where we were staying in DC and it was perfect! The good was amazing! Also, don't miss the pastries next door! It was a perfect meal!

The store had this amazing wine!!!! The store staff are sooooo unfriendly, but products made the stop worth dealing with crabby people.

Stopped for coffee. It's great. Will have to come back to eat. The air outside this place smells heavenly.

Amazing coffee and pastry. The baklava was some of the best we have ever had. You have got to come here if you are in the DC/Arlington area.

The food here is fresh and delicious. When you arrive for lunch or dinner, you come in through an Ethiopian grocery store and connected to it is also a bakery and cafe. Try the spiced tea if you like tea with milk. As with all Ethiopian restaurants, the food comes on a single platter to share and eat with injera. The only issue is parking, there isn't much (you can park a couple of blocks away near Ft Meyer). Any of the 16 buses from Pentagon or Pentagon City will drop you off right there. Highly recommend!

Ridiculously good cake at the bakery. I’ve spent time in Austria and other cake capitals and let me tell you, this is the real deal. Coffee is great too. This place is a gem.

Easily one of the top two Ethiopian restaurants I’ve been to in the DC area. Had kitfo and lamb tibs. Both were fantastic- kitfo was amazing for me and lamb for my girlfriend. Has a market and cafe right next door, picked up a six pack of habesha and pastries on the way out!

Small, hole in the wall pastry shop with an amazing selection of delicious delicacies. A friendly host that greets you personally as you walk in and serves you the most delectable treats. A must try.

Very friendly staff. Eggs with tomatoes, onions, and jalapeños were very delicious. The fruit cake was AMAZING. Best of all .. for the coffee, cake, and eggs it was only ~12. Great deal given the rising prices at breakfast joints. Would highly recommend if in the area.

Dama Pastry and Restaurant is a true gem in Arlington's Foxcroft Heights neighborhood. A short walk from the Air Force Memorial, this family-owned Ethiopian restaurant is a market and bakery too. It opened in 1980 and quickly became a staple for Arlington's Ethiopian community. They sell all the usual suspects as well as Ethiopian coffee. However, they also sell large cakes, gluten-free cookies and fresh bombolonis, a frosting less, less-sweet doughnut. For under $3, it was the best fried doughnut I've had ever.

Super tasty food both in the Ethiopian cafe side and in the more-western bakery side! Our server came through with an awesome recommendation for a fried fish dish that none of us had tried before and that left us all blown away (and also trying to figure out how to create such a crispy batter that stood up so well to the sauce that got ladled on it).

Totally authentic. Fantastic vegetarian options. Takeout was packaged super nicely and fed me for 2 meals. Didn't try buffet but suspect it would be great.

Me,my friends and family love to go to Dama. They have great food,good hospitality,good cake,good coffee. Oh and they just started vegan burger it taste good was there today and was invited by Almaz to try the new sampler let me tell you it taste great try it. The picture may not be great because I used my phone not my Nikon ;) as I am a professional photographer and realtor. If you never been to Dama check them out.
