Excellent food and very friendly staff.

The food ACTUALLY matches the menu. The chicken chimichanga was fantastic. Refried beans are very good, too, with a hit of BBQ sauce in them (very nice touch).

The owner even gave us a tour of his SPOTLESS kitchen.

Best authentic Mexican food in the area 💯🔥
All the food is made fresh on the spot, they even bring a cart out to make the guacamole fresh right at your table. Very helpful and friendly staff. 10/10

Stopped in this place and realized they were closing in a little over 15 minutes. We were just going to order to go food, but they were super kind and welcoming. The food was amazing! Honestly, we were a little surprised at how good it was. We are from Texas and not used to these finding flavors so far north. So good! The table side guacamole was very tasty and made to order. Would definitely recommend!

El Molcajete Moya (molcajete translates to motar and pestle, used in Mexican cuisine for making spices and chiles)

Stopped by the El Molcajete Moya last-night because they have AMAZING tortas. If you have never enjoyed a torta and want to try an authentic one, go here! It’s essentially a sandwich with soft toasted bread, beans, avocado, tomato, lettuce, and a little bit of creama (which is very similar to mayo). The flavor on these are the best! The staff is extremely welcoming. Service is excellent and these folks want you to be here and are ABOUT THE FOOD. The owner will come by and tell you that making sure your food good is his priority.

Did I mention they serve authentic Mexican bottled brew? I had my torta with a Victoria lager (one of my favorites)

I added a photo of their Taco THURSDAY special. I didn’t try the tacos, but the place was happening and people were crushing them (it was Thursday night).

Anyway check this place out. It’s a sleeper for sure!

Conveniently located just down the hill from a decent brewery, I almost don’t want to share this review because I don’t want the fake trolls, who only used us because we are rare true locals, to find these legit hotspots and enjoy this hidden gem and their delicious food. But, because we want this place to do well and have all the success it deserves, I will make the sacrifice. LOL

The staff is always friendly and treats us like old friends. Better than El Paso and cheaper than Uncle Julio’s, they make the guacamole fresh at your table with proper spice levels of your choosing. Los mejores tacos del mundo!

My husband and I were staying at the Marriott which is up the road for the night and were looking for somewhere to dine. We had just helped our son move from New Jersey. We read very good reviews and decided to dine in. Hector was our server and he was very friendly and polite. Service and food was amazing. Would definitely go again if in the area.

First off, the water tasted fine and I only drink life water. The food was very fresh and I got to try something I had never eaten before. I lived in New Mexico for many years, this food was 🔥 (really good) . Rice & beans specifically were 🔥!! Steak was better than chicken - just an fyi for you. Had I only got chicken, I may have had a different experience. All in all, one of the better Mexican food places I’d had since relocating here.

Fantastic! The Mexican cuisine here is simply amazing and authentic, with the ingredients being freshly sourced. We made a stopover on our way to Richmond during the afternoon, so we had the opportunity to enjoy our meal without the bustling crowds that usually gather during dinnertime. I can only imagine how lively this place must be in the evenings!

Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. The food speaks for itself. I highly recommend Birria's tacos and the chorizo and steak tacos were my son's favorites. Definitely my new favorite place!

I loved everything about this place. Hector Moya the head chef was the most friendliest and welcoming person. He himself came out to our table and talked to us. My whole family felt like we were all at home. The waiter Josue provided us with amazing service. Over all amazing place.

Decided to try this place out since we had heard great things about it and it's super close to base! I can't wait to be able to dine in! It's a really cute restaurant with beautiful decor, super clean, and the owner was super nice. We had tacos (the carnitas were seriously amazing!), chips and salsa, horchata, and my toddler devoured his quesadilla.

Went to El Molcajete Moya 2 for the first time today for lunch. The food was great!!!! Definitely will be back. I had the Enchiladas Poblanos which I want to get again, but everything else looks so good too. The staff were attentive, nice, and friendly. It's also close to Marine Corps Base Quantico!

Let me start by saying I'm from San Antonio, TX. The food for me wasn't great, but I am very picky. It was cold. I got the street tacos. The meat was a bit tough, but it was still ok. The seasonings were a bit bland. Overall, the service was excellent. The atmosphere was excellent.

As someone who dines here often, I can vouch for the consistency of this restaurant and as a Mexican, I can say it truly captures the essence of Mexican cuisine and hospitality. The portion sizes are generous, and the flavors are authentic and delightful. My favorite dish is the Chile Relleno, and I highly recommend everyone try it. And speaking of must-tries, don't forget to order their guacamole—it complements perfectly any meal here! The staff's warm welcome makes you feel like you're in Mexico, and every visit feels like a trip back home!

This place is an absolute gem! The food was incredible! Very fresh ingredients, everything was seasoned well, the chicken was tender and not at all over cooked. Fantastic service and lovely atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend this place.
