I thought I'd stop by here today after eating at outback for dinner. It being a hot day outside the barista recommended a cold brew coffee. It had delicious flavor and was nice and strong (just how I like it). The barista was nice enough to add some filtered water to the cold brew and it tasted even better! I will definitely be back here and make it a frequent stop in my weekly routine! 5 stars!

This little gem of a place is woman owned small business. They do coffee tastings on their eclectic beautiful bar and have wine tastings Friday and Saturday nights. You can learn so much about coffee beans while making it a social experience. Love this place so much. It’s so cute too

Tired of ordering a normal Latte and being asked "Venti or Grande?" Look no further than this place. They know how to pull a good shot, texture to perfection, and draw latte art in to-go cups. 5/5 Stars!!!

I adore Sense of Place Café! It’s an oasis in the Arlington Forest Shopping Center. It has amazing coffee and lattes, delicious treats, smoothies, even some cocktails. The décor is inviting with international pictures decorating the walls, really living up to its name. Best of all is local proprietor Kay Kim, a cheerful, welcoming host who greets all with a smile. Please ditch the cookie cutter coffee chains and give this local treasure a try!

The owner, Kay, was very sweet and polite. She was extremely accommodating when I ordered a coffee and received something unexpected. She served up a new latte very quickly and it was absolutely perfect - the right temperature and just the right amount of sweet. She clearly cares about the happiness of her customers.

Delightful coffee, a great space, and a perfect addition to the Arlington Forest neighborhood. Their cold brew is sweet and earthy; a welcome flavor compared to, say, Compass Coffee's cold brew. The baked goods look wonderful, and I can't wait to come back to sample them.
The coffee bar is a laptop-free zone, allowing people to actually interact, of all things. But don't worry; there are a few tables for those who need to get work done. There is a small courtyard, not affiliated with the Cafe (yet) that is just enough space for kids to roam safely while you get your morning caffeine fix. I've heard the cafe is seeking an outdoor seating permit. That will be a spectacular addition.
I am nothing but impressed, and so happy to have A Sense of Place Cafe as part of our neighborhood. This is bound to be a regular Saturday and Sunday morning stop, with kids in tow.

This place is a real treasure in Arlington. The blueberry muffins are the best. Please don't buy too many though, the rest of us who don't wake up at 7am need a chance at them
PS. The coffee is a bit more caffeinated than the usual coffee shop swill in the DC area. You've been warned!

Sense of Place has phenomenal coffee--especially the house blends, like Arctic Fox--and the proprietress and staff are knowledgeable and engaging. Their pastries are also quite good, especially in the morning. It is well worth spending the time to try pour-overs at the bar!

On the afternoon I visited to enjoy a delicious craft pour over at the bar, it seemed like each guest was happy to return and already friendly with the owner, Kay. She was knowledgeable, kind, and seemed to recognize everyone. These days, it is rare to find such a warm and inviting café with a community-feel that still serves top-quality coffee. Looking forward to supporting this small business!

Sense of Place is hands down the best coffee shop/roaster I've been to in the DC metro area. Not only are the drinks and baked goods delicious, it's also clear that the staff are passionate about coffee. They specialize in coffee with little to no acid, meaning that I can actually drink it black without risking hurting my stomach. All in all, a fantastic place that I can't recommend enough.

Very good coffee, masterfully done, friendly staff that remembers your name and treats you respectfully, unique coffee flavors. Sense of place is a highly underrated coffee shop that exceeds the expectations of the average coffee drinker and gives its guests a deeper appreciation of the Korean process of fermenting the beans.

Kim and Kay roast their own coffee beans for a unique and strong but never bitter flavor. They are a true old world Espresso Bar, with a menu that reads like you walked into an espresso bar in downtown Tel Aviv, Paris or Rome. And the latte I just drank taste as good as any that I have had in those cities. Five stars isn't enough. I'm so glad to have found you.

I always enjoy coming here. It's the kind of place where the owner (Kay) knows your name and even gives people hugs. She gives us free snacks with our beverages on the wine nights. The ambiance is that of a cozy, neighborhood cafe that makes you feel at home. Come by for a visit and find your Sense of Place. ❤😊

The pour over coffee bar is absolutely an experience any true coffee lover needs to have. The beans are fermented and roasted in house with so much love and care that you can taste it in the smooth, perfect cups of coffee.

Best coffee in DC area. The owner is a chemist who does her own beans and takes all of the acidity out. Also amazing home baked blueberry muffins

Great lattes, especially the honey cinnamon! The owner/staff are very accommodating and made sure we were satisfied with drinks. Highly recommend and will be returning!
