River Run Animal Hospital

We love River Run and trust them with our 2 dogs. The support staff are always so friendly and welcoming. Any vet tech or vet that has seen Rocket or Buster, have taken care of them like their own pets. Great location between Powhatan and Midlothian, set back off 60. Plenty of parking and plenty of grassy area to walk your pet before or after the visit. Thank you for taking such great care of my fur babies ❤ So glad we found you!

Absolutely incredible. We had a kitty emergency while visiting my parents (from DC) and they saw him immediately, quickly got his vitals and an xray, immediately gave him a dose of medicine, and then burned the X-rays onto a cd for us to have free of charge. So thankful to the wonderful employees and vet who cared for our baby.

We were sent to River Run when our vet was called out of the office for a personal emergency. It was the worst possible scenario, our sweet girl Harmony, was ready to cross over. The vet techs were very kind, and super gentle and loving with her. The vet was also amazing, and incredibly respectful and caring. Harmony crossed at peace, and we were allowed to stay with her as long as we needed afterwards. The office even sent us a card afterwards expressing condolences. Harmony's remains came in on Friday, and we were treated so kindly when we went to pick them up. I know she was handled with dignity and care even in death, and her memorial pieces were absolutely beautiful. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Even at the worst of times for us, they were amazing.

I did not know that the hours are reduced and the clinic is currently closing at 8:00 pm. I arrived at about 8:00 last evening with an urgent need for my cat and the staff was so kind to see us, even though the clinic was closed. Thank you for not turning us away. You are wonderful, caring people.

I just took my cat, Kirby, there, and I don't have enough words to express how grateful I am to the doctor, the assistant, and the front desk associates! I made an emergency appointment last minute and they took me last minute, even though I was 20 minutes late. The doctor took amazing care of my cats needs and also my needs (as a worried cat mom). The prices were very reasonable and not even a fraction of what you could expect from an emergency pet visit! Overall thank you from the bottom of my heart!

New to Powhatan and had not yet found a vet but River Run came highly recommended. They were able to get us in same day. They were thorough, compassionate and gentle with our Hallie. It all happened fast but they walked us through it and helped us make the most loving decision for our girl. Thank you for being so kind. It helped so much during this very emotional time.

Called around 9:10 with an emergency with our dog who was getting sick. The person I spoke with on the phone was very friendly and welcoming even when calling so close to closing. After telling her what was going on she asked how far away we live. Which is almost 30 minutes away. She put me on a brief hold and came back saying to come in and they would stay open for us. (Not many places would have done this). My husband took our dog in and within minutes was seen. He said the vet was extremely nice and caring (even after our dog snapped at her during his exam). We will definitely be going back if we have any issues in the future.

Awesome. I called at least 4 other vets in the area to see my cat that was coughing and sneezing, no one could see him that day. I felt like he needed some relief. They told me I could come in within an hour of me calling, we went in and were in and out within an hour and a half. Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend

Words cannot express my gratitude! Our sweet girl, Flip Flop, took a turn for the worse and it was time that we could not allow her to suffer any longer. I called and I’m not even sure how they understood me because I was crying so hard. They got us in immediately and even helped get her from the jeep inside to the room. They took everything slow and explained everything they were doing. I have never felt so much compassion as I felt from the entire staff, from the phone call to picking up her ashes. I could not imagine going through that anywhere else. Thank you for taking such good care of our sweet girl and being so patient with us, especially the fact that they gave me all the time I needed to compose myself without rushing me. Thank you!!

They are 40 minutes away from me, but wow. They were the only vet that were friendly and efficient. They helped me maneuver a stressful situation with expertise and knowledge. I now have a five week old kitten that I know is going to be well taken care of. Even the receptionist, Kayla was a doll. Top notch service!

They are great for my dogs and cats. A little pricey, but all vets are these days. Nice facility. Friendly staff. Good in emergencies!!!

They are amazing! Really care about the animals and give top notch care. They answered all of my many questions and took time with me to make sure I understood everything. Plus the prices are very reasonable.

We absolutely love this place! We have 3 dogs currently and they have done amazing with each of them. You can tell they care about the dogs and treat them like their own. The staff is so kind making the atmosphere such a great place to be. We try to see Dr. Murray, she is our favorite and always takes such great care of our dogs. Dr. Murray listens to everything you have to say and has never swept any concerns under the rug and explains everything she does/ finds. Highly recommend River Run if you're looking for a good vet.

Dr. Parker Nash is a wonderful vet!!! He's very knowledgeable and funny. Had to take our Lucy in and he was so sweet to her. He could have sent me home with meds and ordered more tests but he is an honest vet and I super appreciate that!! Thank you for making what could have been a horrible day a super sparkly day!!

We needed immediate care for our very sick cat. I was feeling very discouraged after calling several animal hospitals who were booked, when I tried River Run. They were very understanding and made a same-day appointment for us. When we had to make some difficult decisions, they worked with us and were gentle and patient. Very thankful to this hospital and its staff.

Recommended to me by my neighbor when I got my puppy. We have been there twice now for vaccines and general wellness checkups. Staff are super knowledgeable and all of them seem to LOVE animals, which is definitely a must for a vet clinic. They are very reasonably priced as well, and the vet gave me recommendations for good pet insurance.

One of the most caring veterinary practices I've ever been to. Always willing to see my animals, and provides genuinely top service. If you were on the fence about going here, let this be your sign to visit them.

River Run is absolutely amazing. When my french bulldog got a hold of ibuprofen (not good) they literally saved her life after the emergency vet was utterly disappointing. The staff is always friendly. There is rarely a long wait. The facility is CLEAN and updated. I can't say enough good things about this vets office.

Not enough words to say how professional, kind and caring the staff was to my family when we had to say goodbye after 15 yrs to our sweet Oscar. It was so emotional and everyone was so understanding and let us take all the time we needed. They sent us a beautiful sympathy card with everyone signatures.
