The Shaved Duck Restaurant

The Shaved Duck accommodate a group work presentation. We had an event room for ourselves that was closed off to other noises in the restaurants. Good wine selection. Very nice presentation of the food and table setting. Also very clean.
I had the chicken gnocchi and carrot cake. Both were delicious. There were various textures in the gnocchi dish that overall went well together.
Will definitely return to this establishment

I came here on a weekday night with my wife. It wasn't very busy and we came ready to eat so we ordered the Shrimp and Grits, Duck Breast and Carrot cake for dessert. The Duck Breast was a standout for me. All of the food was very good, I'd absolutely recommend to others to come and have a nice dinner here.

Excellent experience! We were seated promptly and in accordance with social distancing guidelines. All of the food was excellent, the duck breast superb. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. It was a special occasion made even more special by the staff, my date and I were very impressed to say the least. Glad to have an upscale dining experience like this on the Southside. They also have great parking.👍

Checked out this place with the little lady for brunch on a recommendation. This place is awesome. Our server was perfect! Courteous, helpful and there when we needed her. I think her name was Leslie. I settled on the French toast and my other half had the duck hash with a side of pimento grits. I have never had a more perfectly prepared French toast, just look at the picture and queue the mouth watering. Her duck hash was full of flavor and I wanted to take her plate after she gave me a little taste.
Our specialty cocktails matched our meals and came out fancifully prepared ;).

With a modern atmosphere that is open and welcoming we were both comfortable. Clean restrooms. The Shaved Duck gets four thumbs up and we will be back to see y'all.

Some of the best duck I've ever had. Very good service and drinks be it a little expensive for mixed cocktails but thats a RVA thing in general. The crispy confit duck is so.e of the best I've ever had and I always get the duck. My partners pot pie was tasty but the duck leg is the star dish.

Great service and delicious food! My wife and I had the duck breast and duck pot pie; both were superb. I would also highly recommend going during their daily happy hour, which offers great deals on drinks and apps.

We came here for brunch and it was such a great experience! Duck is definitely their strong suit. The duck in the hash and the duck and waffle are both so delicious. Although for the hash you really don’t get much duck meat. The waffle itself was pretty dry but the pickles they put on top are pretty interesting addition to the flavor. Also recommend their bread board! Everything is made in house and everything on the board is soooo delicious!

This restaurant is special. Craft cocktails, the Black Manhattan was absolutely unlike any other I've had before with it's homemade bitters. Then I had a smoked bourbon that completed the exceptional drink rounds.

The food was equally exceptional. The duck breast had a perfect crisp on the fat edge. The small plates were very tasty... I can't say enough good things about this place. We will definitely be back!

If you are a foodie (even if you're not), this place is a must.

My wife and I came here for the first time on our anniversary back in September and we fell in love. The food is amazing and the service is outstanding. We both ordered multiple items on the menu so we could try a variety and we weren't disappointed. We had the shaved omelet and the duck burger with a fried egg added. If your a drinker they make a real smoked old fashion. We have gone back twice since then for happy hour and for brunch. Highly recommend giving this restuarant a try if you have not. You will not be disappointed! DELICIOUS!

Not just a meal, but a flavor adventure. I got the duck breast and every single bite was a “wow.” I was sad when my plate was empty. My wife got the skirt steak and loved it as well. Our waiter was professional and personable. Perfect place for a date night, special occasion, or just a fantastic meal!

We had a wonderful birthday dinner with my wife. The pork nachos appetizer was a treat, and we enjoyed the duck breast and beef filet entrees. The huge carrot cake dessert was more than ample for two, with a lighter touch of icing than usual. They have a nice selection of wines and draft beers, but the specialty cocktails are the real feature. The "smoked" Old Fashioned was a superior and memorable libation.

Food and service was amazing. Went a couple months ago for mother's birthday. The chef came out and greeted us and wished my mother happy Birthday he also talked about the new menu. Definitely had a great experience will be back

My boyfriend and I have a thing about brunch; we go to a different spot every Sunday! Thus far, after many brunches, The Shaved Duck is the only spot we’ve gone to more than once. This place is the best brunch in Richmond. The french toast is amazing, and the grits are my favorite. This place is family friendly, but the drink menu is great for couples!

We ate here on a nice Sunday for brunch; we decided to dine inside since we finally could. (FYI we reserved the seats ahead of time online). The aesthetics inside are nice and I liked the duck-inspired paintings and decor.

For food, we ordered duck and waffles and the banana foster crepe. Also a side of grits, a soup and ice cream for dessert. The duck was tender and juicy— the taste reminded me of chicken in a good way. I also liked the crispy waffle and soft crepe which had a strong banana flavor and actual bananas in it.

The ice cream also was flavorful and came with two large scoops. Grits were mixed with corn and went well with our other food. Everything was tasty and the server(s) that came by to assist us were all friendly and answered our questions. Before the food came out, the smell was so delicious I could smell it through my mask! Great place.

If you're looking for great food and amazing drinks with a relaxing ambiance, this is the place. The food has always been a hit whether it's duck or beef and the new duck smash burger is an amazing twist on everyday burgers. The range of drinks that the mixologists have is some of the best in Richmond.

First time visiting The Shaved Duck and brunch did not disappoint!! Their Brunch menu is amazing. I was too overwhelmed with the options and ended up just getting a mix of a la carte items. The smoked cheddar grits are phenomenal!!!! Best grits I’ve ever had. I still dream about them. For the cocktails I tried the ‘blackberry beret’ and the ‘wake me up before you go-go’ and both were absolutely delicious. The restaurant was very clean, service was great and I did not feel rushed at all. This might be my new favorite brunch spot in town! I will definitely be back soon.

I had a warm experience at The Shaved Duck restaurant. The staff Jackie and Shelby were very friendly, and the food was amazing!

I would eat here again for sure. I had 2 cocktails and both were excellent. I had the Lemon on a Prayer and the Velvet Rose. We ordered way too much food but it was all very good. All the breads they use are made in house even the hamburger buns. The She Crab Soup was so good. A little different than traditional but not so far off that you won’t like it if you want traditional. The meat and cheese board is huge. The duck tacos needed a little salt but were very tasty. The mussels were fresh.

Great food. Amazing service. We were seated quickly and had to wait 5-10 minutes for a server but Alexa was Amazing! Food was delicious and fun. Portions are perfect. I had the salmon with apple and blood orange. The combination was outstanding and fun to eat. I definitly will try salmon and blood orange at home some time soon.

Went here for happy hour. They had cocktails and food specials that all sounded really good. The bar was full when we went, so we sat at the back bar and still got taken care promptly. The cocktails on HH were really good, with the mule being super gingery (which I like). We ordered the mussels, which were fantastic. The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable, and told us about their from-scratch kitchen. The food, drinks, atmosphere, and service were all superb, and if I'm ever close to the area I will be back.
