Golden Gate Donuts

The exterior of this establishment is rather nondescript but once inside I only need to look through the display case at the wide assortment of baked goodies to find inner delight just to be near all this sugary goodness. Roughly translated, I come back again and again for the doughnuts which are fresh and light. I have never been disappointed. An extra bonus — the people behind the counter have been kind and cheerful.

I love this donut shop. I've been going there for awhile now. I try to go every morning to get coffee or tea and a donut. The donuts are fresh and delicious. The owner is very nice. He also sells lots of lottery tickets and his shop is know as a "lucky retailer". It's never too busy and the personal attention to each customer makes the trip worthwhile. I highly recommend this donut shop :)

Really cute donut shop! We went about an hour before closing and the lady serving us gave us extra pastries with our order. Pretty standard donuts, which is nothing to complain about.

I bought two donuts , the chocolate bar with custard didn’t look beautiful but it was delicious! In the bag was two donut holes not sure if on purpose or happy accident BUT those are delicious!

You can have real doughnuts here! they do have yeast taste, not like other shops, taste oil and fat.
Most important, the boss is really nice and friendly!!

Very nice people work here. Lots of options and the donuts were really fresh plus I played some lotto numbers while I was there and bought a few scratchers. My favorite is the blueberry one, yummy!

Best donut place in Oakland! The donuts taste amazing& great value for the price. Their croissant sandwiches are also really tasty, perfect for breakfast. The staffs here are really nice and friendly. The place is always populated with nice community of customers that makes this place feel very homey.

This is an excellent example of a classic American donut. Nothing super fancy here, though maybe a bacon maple bar on the weekends. Every donut is good and always tastes fresh. The staff is friendly especially considering the things they have to deal with. It's cash only so come prepared, but you usually don't need more than a $20.

Best donut shop around! I’m not a huge fan of the fancy/trendy new donut shops with unique flavors- honestly always just looking for a place that does the basics well (and I don’t know why this is so hard to find) I’ve tried a bunch of different donut places in east bay and nothing compares to golden gate donuts. If you’re looking for an exceptional donut shop, go here!! I moved to San Francisco and still come back here to get my donuts

I came here to get a donut once, but I kept coming for the great warmth and neighborhood feel inside this place. Everyone working here makes you feel at home.
Also, lots of very friendly regular customers. Just love this place.
Also, in the span of a few minutes I heard Ryan speak 3 different languages with different customers. Annie is super kind and friendly too.

My family loves these donuts! My hubby picks some up for us every once in awhile (half a dozen for about $6.60). They offer a nice variety of flavors. My favorites are the delicious blueberry cake donut, and a chocolate one with chopped nuts on top. I prefer this style over others. The are inexpensive, but taste like a pricey treat. I highly recommend you give them a try.

The best old-fashioned donuts in Oakland. The owner is the baker and he is super focused on making donuts that have crisp donut exterior and soft moist inner. With all the flavors to choose from including my favorite Blueberry. The donuts are made fresh daily and are often still warm before 8.
