We recently entrusted this home with the care of our loved one. Mark and Dennis were accommodating and arranged to meet our needs and requests throughout the period. They recognized the significance of our family moments, respecting each interaction and ceremony.

During our cemetery service, their professionalism and sensitivity were truly remarkable. They gracefully and respectfully guided us through the process, allowing us to focus on honoring our loved one without any additional stress or concern.

We sincerely appreciate the service provided by this funeral home and their support during this difficult time with grace and empathy. While we hope they will consider extending their visiting hours beyond closing at 5 pm in the future, we are satisfied with the service we received.

Chapel of The Chimes Oakland took extremely GREAT care of my beloved deceased sister. Ed, was exceptionally great with his communication, flexible with his time, and very attentive to the needs of my mother and family. The day of the visitation and the day of the funeral service, the staff was VERY attentive to myself and my family! There were no questions or challenges about any decisions that I made. If I wanted something a certain way they made sure to accommodate me and my family as best to their ability as they possibly could. I would recommend Chapel of The Chimes 1,000 times over and over! Chapel of the Chimes (COC) has assisted my family recently in the last 10 years. My Grandmother and Mother are here as their final resting place. Staff was professional and extremely helpful during this emotional time. I would recommend using COC and per-arranging services if possible.

Cynthia Aguirre of Chapel of the Chimes helped my sister and I move from intense pain to solace and peace. My father died suddenly during the course of a medical emergency, and was badly injured in the process. He did not have a faith of preference, but respected spirituality. Cynthia held our hands during each and every step, guiding us to build a program that reflected a man she had not met, but was committed to knowing through us. The way that she communicated, set expectations, followed up was as if she were planning this for her own family member. The burden of the details were taken care of so that my sister and I could focus on the honor of celebrating our father's life. It's hard to put into words what is needed to do this job well, but it was done with care, collaboration, compassion, precision and high regard. I couldn't recommend Cynthia more, and highly recommend Chapel of the Chimes as I place to consider to honor your loved ones.

About 8 yrs. or so ago, a wonderful woman by the name of Sohie Anneta took me under her wing to help me and my needs/wishes to be cremated. That was almost ten yrs. ago! And These people are still wonderful! A man by the name of Mark Fratti helped me with some business. I highly recommend Chapel of the Chimes. They are so caring, helpful and professional!

During a very difficult time for my family the staff here was incredible in making sure we were taken care of. Ed who was my contact answered every question patiently with incredible care and understanding. I had so many questions and he would answer every one and also gave incredible advice. Not just on the services they provided but also how to handle the difficult situation.

Nicole was wonderful! She helped plan our ceremony with the military! She did an amazing job and so did the military!

My mother's service was at the Chapel of the Chimes on April 5th, 2024 and everything done beautifully with care, detail and professional at all the times.

My brother passed away earlier this year and we decided to work with Chapel of the Chimes. Cynthia was the woman who took care of us from the beginning and it was a wonderful experience. She guided our family through this difficult time and she had such a calming spirit about her. It was extremely helpful that she is bilingual and could speak both English and Spanish for our family. Unfortunately I have had to go through losing a few other loved ones over the last years and by far Chapel of the chimes was the best. I was doing my genealogy and found my Great Grandmother, my Grandfather and my Uncle in a niche at Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland, CA. I live about an hour away but it took 2 years to make the trip. I was blown away! I have never been anywhere or seen anything like this. It is structurally the most breath taking place, not creepy or weird. Total peace, beauty with more of a sense of life than death. Then there are the people that work there, they take it over the top. How beautiful and kind they are. They went out of their way to make sure I had what I needed, answered any and every question I asked and made my first visit exceptional in every way. I always have heard that my Great Grandmother was cool but this is a connection to her and my Grandfather brings new significance. To have this place and the exceptional staff, my journey with finding my roots has become absolutely mesmerizing. I can not thank these people enough for what they have done for me and I can tell you with complete confidence that your journey at Chapel of the Chimes will be life changing.

I unfortunately lost my mother and I was looking for a funeral home last minute. I performed a Google search and I found Chapel of the Chimes. I worked with the funeral Director Cynthia and she explained the process and helped me make those final decisions. Cynthia was great and was always available to answer any of my questions. We had a beautiful service for my mom and I highly recommend Chapel of the Chimes.

Unfortunately, my grandma recently had a stroke and wasn’t doing well. We were told by the hospice to make necessary arrangements. Long story short, after speaking with a few different funeral homes, I chose Chapel of the Chimes. They have many different plans and options, their staff quickly responded and were very accommodating and respectful. The team helped me through each step. They were also able to provide services extremely quickly, to the extent that visitation was one day after my grandma passed away and the funeral was the following day as requested by my family. My family wanted to do specific cultural ceremonies and the staff were able to assist as well. The staff have also continued to reach out since the funeral and are holding my grandma’s ashes until I am ready to pick it up.

There was one small hiccup in which staff threw away a food item left after visitation that we intended to keep for the funeral.I would suggest staff ask the family prior to throwing anything away in the future. However, the staff offered and did provide a replacement.

In summary, I would highly recommend them if you are ever in the position of having to choose a funeral home.

I came to Chapel Of The Chimes for my husband's final resting place due to my husband's sudden passing due to him taking his life last October 14th 2022
Also, I wanted my husband to be close to his brother who is also at Chapel of the Chimes.
Cynthia who I met first was very kind, warm, concerned and comforting helping me through the first process (I was and absolutely heartbroken)
Joyce was also very kind to me who helped me find the perfect place for beloved husband and there were others like Vanessa who was just as sweet
However, I had a issue with Nicole
I submitted a check for Creamation for my husband and was informed several days later that the check bounced which was impossible because there was money in the account and when I checked in with my bank I was informed that there was no information in regards to a bounced check
Nicole entered my account number incorrectly which caused me much added stress and anxiety on top everything else I was dealing with
My bank supervisor had to talk to Cynthia to provide the correct account information and confirmed that I had more than enough money in my account
When I had my next visit with Chapel of the Chimes I ran into Nicole
I informed Nicole the stress, anxiety and how upset I was about the situation she had caused.
Nicole was very dismissive and told me she had already been spoken to about this issue by Cynthia
I told her she owed me apology
Only after I asked her for the apology , Nicole provided me one
I am still very upset about her attitude towards to stress she had caused

Chapel of the Chimes of Oakland is the most loving and caring place. My grandma and grandpa along with my mother where attended to by staff in the most honorable way. Knowing they were left with the staff gave me comfort. Many thanks to all of you. Thanks would never be enough to show my appreciation.

I cannot say enough in only words how much I appreciate the team at the Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland. I feel strong emotions as I write this thinking of the care and professionalism that I experienced. From the start of our inquiry of services Funeral Director Ed Brail took the best care of our family around the death of my young son only 22. My son was a Marine and there first was the dignified transfer. Ed and team were perfectly organized to handle the process with the military and our family. The visitation room was nicely decorated with personal touches making it comfortable. Ed met with me whenever needed to be sure we were set up for the ceremony and made sure our slide show and live stream were ready to go. Upon the visitation ceremony at the main chapel, the team of Milton Lockhart, Shanice Rogers, Nataly Torres and Neeka Bilberry made this perfect. The Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland is a special place with gorgeous architechture. It is worthwhile to take the time to walk the entire property. Ed and Milton also were amazing at the church service the next day and made sure that everything was timely and perfect through the ceremony at the cemetary. The team as a whole made a difficult time more bearable with the love, respect and care you could feel. On a side note they will put your event on their website and create a tribute wall for your loved one. It was easy then to share this link that had service information with others. Our whole family was happy with our recent service and can highly recommend the Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland. I am forever thankful, Kathy

My dad died recently, my suspect is that COVID vaccine, read video comments and comments from people. Nickname CLOT SHOT and UNKNOWN CAUSE OF DEATH. Anyhow, back on topic, I was not expecting his passing and didn't have plans. However, I recall a friend that used the service so I gave it a shot. They came relatively fast especially for a weekend. Their office and area looks VERY clean, nice and appropriate. We were treated with respect and patience and they were very professional. It felt warm and comfortable, which eased the transition during our darkest hours, which is very much appreciated. The pricing was decent, I can't exactly compare as it's my first time 'shopping' around, but it felt like it was within our costs and they didn't desperately try to sell us other stuff which I like as well. Pretty good experience. Thank you.

We had a Hindu ceremony for my father at this beautiful place located so close to us. We had considered one of the other locations which do more Indian services however Cynthia, Ed and staff did a great job accommodating us. The beauty of the space, the accessibility and the Staff made it the right choice for us.
