Markus Supply Ace Hardware

I went to this Ace Hardware store in search of an attachment for my kitchen faucet for a portable washing machine. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the inventory and what I needed.

Friendly customer service. Found the items I wanted to purchase always good.

Marcus Supply Ace Hardware is a family business that has been in the Bay Area for 100 years! Don't go to Home Depot. If you need it it's probably here.

Wonderful local hardware store. They don't have the huge selection that Home Depot does, but it's great for personalized help, especially if you need something not standard. Each time I go in, it's clear they want to help get me what I need, not just sell me more stuff. They've actually helped me figure out how to solve a home project in a different way, costing me less than I anticipated. They're also very fast with making key copies.

This is the hardware store from those who seldom go to hardware. You don’t have to know a hammer from a light fixture. They have folks custom designed to come to your immediate aid.
They will find whatever you need and bring it to you. And, if it involves your vehicle, they’ll install it in their parking area. I love this family-owned hardware store.

Larger than expected. Great Ace Hardware! Had everything I needed.

I placed an online order (with in-store pickup) for a floor cleaner that I had difficulty finding. I had ordered several bottles of the product, but had forgotten exactly how many. When I went to pick up my order I was handed a case with 6 bottles (which seemed sufficient). I signed the delivery receipt and was headed towards the door when a manager came rushing from the back hoping to catch me. Well, apparently I had ordered 10 bottles and he was coming to bring me the rest of my order. I was extremely grateful!!

If you are from Oakland you know this place as Marcus Hardware, no matter what they say. The staff here is very knowledgeable and willing to help. Particularly if you are living in or have recently purchased an Edwardian or Victorian home. You are about to find out how much stuff you cannot get at Home Dep... or that type of joint. Nope sorry. Some of the employees are actually tradesmen which is a bonus toward getting the job done.

I love this store! Absolutely the best customer service of any hardware store in existence! Brian the manager is THE BEST!
He regularly goes above and beyond to make sure I leave happy and taken care of including giving me 10-20% discounts sometimes! Nevermind Home Depot is you have hardware and home improvement needs this is the place you need to be.

Always a helpful and friendly experience

Excellent service. I had a backpack on upon entering, and there was a posted and conspicuous sign reading no backpacks allowed in store. I walked to the left, the kind cashier held it for me upon request. Had my keys cut and paid for with no issue, and made it back home with time to spare (just in time for a delivery I had scheduled). Excellent.

Family owned and operated. Can't find something? Ask and they'll order it for you!

The guy that makes the keys that is a little hard to understand is awesome. He helped me not only with copying my keys buy more than a couple random times throughout the store during my visit. Everyone else is generally friendly enough although I do get a bit of a "they're just waiting for me to steal something, eyes following me" kinda vibe however I can't say that there's anything really wrong with that, they have to protect their business and I did come in with a large jacket fullmof pockets & walked around everywhere looking around. The cashier was the least friendly, but the key guy makes up for any negative stars she might have earned. Love this place.

I loved this place. Reminds me of the old hardware stores I used to visit when I was growing up. It's chalk full of everything you need.

Patricia was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. And the prices are incredible. Will definitely be my go-to hardware store going forward!
