The Fat Lady is a wonderful restaurant. Our service was INCREDIBLE Shane was GREAT, FUN, amazing great person!! It was very busy but the hostess Emma 😊found us a table very quickly. The food was delicious 😋 WE WILL BE BACK AGAIN!! Best advice make a reservation

The beet risotto at The Fat Lady in Oakland is a game changer! It’s creamy, with that earthy beet kick, and the Parmesan on top? Chef's kiss! It’s like they put all the good stuff in one dish. Seriously, if you’re in Oakland, you gotta try it. Even for take out it's still Five stars for making something so good. Oh location is good too, right around the corner from Jack London Square.

Well this is round two of reviewing since Google is not cooperating..but I feel this place is worth it. My husband found this when I was on a travel nurse assignment in Northern California. It was superb. We will definitely come back. It is a must visit place if you are in the area!

Neat place to eat. Food was delicious, and service was great. Staff was very friendly. Wasn't very busy at the time, so the atmosphere was very laid back. Will definitely go back when in the area.

You will never go wrong with the fat lady! I've lived in Jack London for 5 years and just discovered this place 6 months ago! The food is amazing! The Manila clams are **chefs kiss** phenomenal. My family and I typically come Friday/ Saturday night's for the prime rib and let me tell you!!!!!! Best prime rib in town! The portion is so huge my husband and I typically just split it! We love the staff here, super nice and accommodating.

A beautiful and unique restaurant/bar. The atmosphere is fun, everyone is friendly, and there is lots of laughter and banter. I had the best Espresso Martini I’ve had in years! It was truly amazing! Made with fresh espresso. I also had my usual Gin & Tonic and Blood Mary. Both were well made. Five stars for the Bartender.

I loved the vibe, it transports you to (i actually don’t know where I’m assuming some place in germany) but so well done! got the steak, it was so tender and the temperature was perfect. didn’t expect a place that doesn’t have “steak” in the name to have such good steaks! very impressed. also, good mocktails/non alcoholic beverages.

we went to be amused by the place, and didn’t think we’d go again. so wrong. the place is definitely neat, but the food was fantastic. the pork chop is daringly thick and perfectly cooked (sort of has to be if you’re going to cut them that thick!) and every bite of the salmon was moist, flavorful and delicious! we’ll be back.

The fat lady’s been around for 53 years and still serving up some great food. With it all is just the best table service. A great selection for cocktails from the bar. I had a spicy, bloody Mary, and my friend had an espresso martini , that was super. And they have family recipes for their cheesecake and the Pate. I was served up a delicious Warm Spinach Salad that was topped off with a poached egg that was great. My friends had their specially prepared lamb chops that are hard to beat. We had a couple servings of their delicious French onion soup. Another friend had a special this week of a pasta dish with spiral pasta, corn, cherry tomatoes, and olives, and garlic. Also ordered was a great Fat Lady Burger as well as an order of corn chowder that was delish. It’s definitely worth checking out.

This place was great. The ratio of food portions to price point was extremely fair. Our waitress was very attentive. I will definitely be returning.

You know the saying, it’s not over till the fat lady sings; well baby The Fat Lady Bar & Restaurant sang like Aretha Franklin!? It was the perfect place for my 37th birthday dinner and I shared the night with three amazing people. One of which was my bestie. The drinks were strong and flowing constantly, just how I like it. The appetizers were delicious. The fried calamari was mouthwatering and the sauces paired with it were amaze balls. I had the prime rib and the waitress made sure to get the cut and temp just how I like it. It was a nice size as well. They came and sang me happy birthday and I was over the moon. I really enjoyed myself and it was the best birthday dinner ever.

12:30pm on a gorgeous Sunday - we were able to be seated outside with the pups within less than 5mins. Ordered Beets & Watercress salad (solid and fresh), French onion soup (delicious!), fried Zucchinis (crispy, not super oily, and kept the texture of the vegetable to its integrity), risotto with prawns (the rice itself was a bit bland but the prawn had a lovely char taste, which got brownie points for), "shoestring" fries (not thin at all so not sure how it's shoestring but it was alright), bread for my pups (a couple of crispy ones with olives), and all of the cocktails we tried were solid. Would def come back to try other dishes!

My partner and I are in town for a funeral and we had to kill a little time between our vrbo check out time and our flight home, so my partner found a place for us to get some food and a drink or six. 😉

Luckily for us, they found The Fat Lady and it was SUCH a wonderful experience!

Our server, Elizabeth, was so incredibly delightful and helpful. She made great recommendations and didn’t hesitate to tell us that she wouldn’t mind if we had to camp out for a couple hours, or more, despite our profuse apologies. And that’s not to mention that she was incredibly fun/funny, and dare I say she was a bit cheeky (😉) but in a safe and super respectful way. Not only that, she made our dining experience even better than it otherwise would have been - coming and going with the flow you just instantly know is a true mark of high intelligence and skill in the profession.

Now, the food. Gawd. The food was so tasty.

I very much enjoyed the oysters, that came with lemons, real horseradish, and garlic butter. And I had the Atlantic salmon fillet as my main. My partner had the French onion soup and a baked potato that they found to be delicious on a cloudy/drizzly Bay Area day. As for the drinks… We very much enjoyed the Bees Knees and Cupid’s Arrow cocktail, as we did a spicy mezcal cocktail that Elizabeth suggested for us.

By the way, the ambience and atmosphere is absolutely fantastic. It’s almost like being in your kooky rich aunt’s mansion, it’s incredibly ornate and beautiful inside, with art and curtains and lamps. I was in a seat where I could see a stained glass window featuring a rose pattern, making it that much more special.

Needless to say, after our time at The Fat Lady, we’re both adequately prepared and smiling before our flight home after a handful of difficult days. Thanks for your hospitality and patience with us, Elizabeth & Staff. Hope to see you again, someday soon. 🩵🤍🩷

An absolute treat! Has the ambiance of a “House of Prime Rib” without needing a reservation 3 months in advance. This is a place where the wait staff treats you like you are a special guest, and the food is delectable. Apologies some of the pictures were taken mid-meal, it was just that delicious! Definitely will be visiting again, and bringing more folks next time. Also don’t forget to catch the board walk in Jack London to walk off some of the calories afterwards!

Very good service and staff are really sweet. For a drink I got French Lace and it's delicious 😋 . Oysters and fried zucchini for appetizers. My boyfriend had prime rib and flat iron steak for me. I will definitely coming back.

After much research, we had made this our top pick for dinner on our night in Oakland. Apparently we didn't do enough research to figure out that a reservation would be needed. So the great impression of this place started when the hostess figured out how to seat us despite our poor planning. If you like whiskey-based drinks, try the cocktail that has a fancy name starting with B. I had the rack of lamb and it was deliciously and uniquely flavorful. And perfectly cooked. The potatoes and Brussels were also great. For dessert, we both got cheesecake and enjoyed every light and fluffy bite. Our waiter was always attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere is this oddly beautiful overly-done step-back-in-time while embracing all the weirdness. We loved our evening with The Fat Lady.

An oasis on the Oakland waterfront. When I walked in the door I felt like I had stepped back in time. A familiar place from my past. Could have been San Francisco or maybe New Orleans? Being alone, I sat at the bar. The bartender made me a perfect Vesper to start. I chose a seafood linguine dish and a nice glass of red. All good and then made better by the atmosphere. Felt right at home.

The exterior is super cute, and the inside is so cozy and warm. The place was full, lots of conversation, super small but once you’re at your table you feel like you’re in your own world. The staff was super super sweet. Our server had a lot of personality and gauged just how much we wanted to interact/be checked up on. He was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and gave us good recommendations. The food was tasty as well. I enjoyed every bite.

Really great 16 oz steaks, atmosphere, and service!!! Cooked to perfection and full of savory flavor! Our servers Olivia and Enrique were on their game and made our experience special. Will be glad to come back for more!

This place was delicious! The service was professional and efficient. The food was delectable. The vibe feels intimate and vintage on the inside. The outside feels modern and contemporary. There's semi dim lighting on the inside that definitely sets the mood.
