This was my second time getting a haircut at CBB, by Mr. Charles Blades himself, and I’m so glad I discovered them. It was super easy to book an appointment and I arrived to a very clean, pleasant atmosphere, with amazing jazz playing...where Charles was ready and waiting for me. Charles started by asking me questions and listening to my needs. That was huge. He didn’t rush either and I appreciated that. The result was the best haircut I’ve had in a very long time. I will definitely be returning to CBB regularly to get my haircut from Mr. Blades. Take my advice, choose CBB!

Asked for a simple 2 taper on the sides and cropped volume on top for some texture and shape — you’ll be surprised how many barbers get a simple cut wrong. Michael gave me the only haircut I’ve been happy with right after the barber for the past year. Such a hospitable and fun guy, in fact everyone there was so nice and charming. Left the barber with a skip in my step; skipping back to the salon as soon as the hair looks muggy again. This place won’t dissappoint!

Charles is the man, incredibly welcoming, easy conversation and very efficient. My cut looks great, he knew exactly what to do and how to style my hair. He used rose water to wet my hair, so I smell great, gave me a hot towel wipe down and got me in and out quick. The shop was buzzing when I walked in but the vibe was mellow. You can tell every person there is in rhythm and knows what they're doing because everything is maintained to the tiniest detail. Will definitely be going back.

My 10 year old son has very curly hair that he grew down to his shoulders. He was ready to cut it short but we needed to find a barber we could trust and stick with for years to come. We were fortunate enough to find Michael. He was amazing with my son. Gave him the full barber experience complete with a wash and style.
The shop is extremely inviting and relaxed. All the barbers were welcoming and made us feel right at home.
My son can’t wait to go back to Michael to get cleaned up again.

I've been going to CBB for over 3 years now with no complaints. My barber of choice is Alex. He always gives a great cut. All the barbers from the head honcho Charles to Bella to Mike contribute to the vibe and atmosphere. I like the music they play too. I've shazamed a bunch of songs there.

Awesome experience. Mike did such a good job cleaning up my hair. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. I left my dog in the front but when he started crying, Mike let my dog sit in my lap haha. this was my first professional haircut in years. i stopped going to salons because i always wanted to cry after they made me look like some old lady karen. i left here feeling fresh as hell haha. i will be coming back!

Love these barbers. Friendly, great beverage selection, sharp cuts, on time, Bella is my favorite though Charles and others I’ve used give great cuts too. Small enough to be a mellow experience. My favorite shop.

CBB is the best barbershop in Oakland, and it’s one of the biggest things I miss now that I don’t live in the area. Alejandro cut my hair for 3 years and did a great job every time!

Alex does an amazing job. Great with scissors and a trimmer, I always leave with the perfect fade and my beard on point!

Always a great experience. First-rate hair cutting, terrific vibes. All of the barbers are excellent and I have enjoyed chopping it up with Charles while getting a great haircut for years. These types of shops are a dying breed and need to be supported, especially in Oakland, where some business owners are high tailing it out of here for good reason. Charles and company are the best!

“So fresh and so clean”. That is the best way to describe my experience at Charles barbershop. In between the eucalyptus hot towel and the precision with the razor blade on it. This place has such an ambience and leaves you with such a great impression that it makes one wonder where have they been all my life. I just happened to be in the area and I was able to call them for a walk-in. They were friendly from the start and they way they treated their other customers show they care about service for people of all ages. I’m blessed to have met Charles and Alejandro and I hope they keep up with their amazing work.
