This Hampton Inn is at a very convenient location, close to China Town, and the BART station. The rooms are very clean and renovated. The staff are friendly and courteous. The gym is very well equipped, and maintained. Valet parking service is provided by a third party, but very safe. I will definitely stay here again.

I always stay here when coming to the city as it's convenient, clean and better prices than the other side of the bay while actually being easier to get to the business districts. Rooms are fine though I've found faucets or showers broken every trip. Still better than dealing with a comparable priced hotel in SF

Loved this hotel. It was nice and quiet. Very clean too I will add. The receptionists were great and very friendly. The BART was 2 minutes down the street so highly accessible for travel. Easy to go to San Francisco using the BART. Everything else was walking distance and close by. Highly recommend!

Love the room, comfortable bed, great location. A+, would stay again, absolutely recommend.

The breakfast is B, though. Could use more fresh fruit, and the breakfast potatoes are just ok.

We enjoyed our stay here! Unlike the other reviewers, we had no issues with our check in crew. Everyone was nice and accommodating. We had city view rooms and the garbage trucks were loud in the morning but hey, it's the city! Otherwise for a Weds night stay it was really quiet. We had to valet which was pricey but at least the valet service was super quick and easy. Rooms were super clean and breakfast with a waffle maker was fun!

I am a frequent booker at this location. Despite living in the area, I come to this hotel whenever I want some time away or just comfortable amenities. Looked pretty rough at check in I think, and the staff at the front desk gave me a couple bottles of water I didn’t expect, for free. Small gesture but was kind and I appreciated that. Always enjoy coming here and will continue to do so.

Very clean and comfortable! Centrally located in downtown Oakland, this hotel offers nice, clean rooms, and a friendly staff. A free breakfast offered downstairs in the morning complements the stay. Definitely a good spot for the business traveler.

There is zero parking around the hotel. They have valet parking, only $40. Per day, pay up front. The hotel will charge $75. Amenities per day, not a flat fee of a 100. Like most hotels do, so don't be shocked when you see on your statement it's much higher than it should be. Other than that, it's a very nice hotel. Pride was going on a few blocks away. They are very open-minded hotel, which is wonderful to see.

My first time staying at this hotel but it won't be my last. The hotel felt new and inviting. The breakfast was okay not the best I've had or anything and certainly not the worse. The customer service was awesome at the front counter. I enjoyed my room but it did have a little noise from the street but it wasn't too bad once the heater kicked on.

Had an excellent four night stay here while on a business trip. Changed room after one night because I needed a bathroom with a bathtub. Check-in and check-out were both smooth. Staff was also friendly. Both of the rooms I was in had good views and most things folks would need for this stay - even a microwave, which is rare. I can easily recommend this place. The location was also excellent to walk to any central Oakland spots.

Booked a room with points due to power outages from resent bomb cyclone. Power got restored 24 hours early and needed to cancel. Honors 800 could not do it a refund my points however April at the Oakland hotel was able to do it quickly and professionally. Great service. Tks. Would have hurt to lose those 50k points which I plan to use for a vacation.

Great, clean, quiet hotel with a business professional atmosphere and all the modern amenities. Rooms are comfortable and offer plenty of privacy. Staff is polite, professional, respectful, and very helpful. Well stocked snack shop and complimentary toiletries if you forgot a toothbrush or razor or what have (or rather what don’t have you 😜). Perfectly located between Chinatown and downtown and just a few blocks from the highway in what felt like a very safe location. The hotel is surrounded by a seemingly endless and diverse selection of restaurants, shops, and night life within just a few blocks radius and you can hop on the highway in two minutes to get to anywhere else in the Bay Area. Valet parking is available but no self-parking. Single bed rooms are a little on the small side but not cramped by any means. The only thing you sacrifice at this hotel is a view. Only a few rooms on the 7th and 8th floors have any sort of view of the city that could be considered interesting facing north. Views of the bay are obstructed by neighboring buildings, but it’s a very small sacrifice and there are plenty of places where you can go in the city to get a view of the bay. Rooms are very modestly priced around $170 before tax making it easily one of the best choices of hotels when staying in downtown Oakland.

Really nice stay! I enjoyed the room and the breakfast options given everyday!
Most of the staff was super nice and helpful.
Just the lady in the very morning at the front desk was very rude when I tried to tell her that the hairdryer in my room is broken. She looked at me as if I broke it!
The location of the hotel is very close to a BART station and was easily reachable!

We had a GREAT stay here!! They were very accommodating when we arrived early and needed a place to keep luggage. The breakfast was perfect. Room very clean. Big TV with Netflix. Walking distance to good food and to the lake walking path. I would 100% stay here again!! Looking forward to it actually

We stayed here to come to see Smokey Robinson at the Paramount Theatre. The hotel is all modernized and very clean. The staff is very nice and friendly. I also like the fact that the Valet service takes your vehicle to a Private Locked parking lot. The tv was bit hard to figure out since the settings did not state the channels and delayed on every change made. But overall was great quality. The only thing we did not like was the time it took for the water to warm up when you need a shower. We will definitely return here next time we come to the Paramount Theatre as it is only down the street.

Great location and great service!
As a gold member, I’ve stayed at many Hilton properties. This Hotel is located at the center of Chinatown and in the “safer” area of downtown Oakland with many great restaurants close to BART.

Special thanks to Susanne during the check in process for accommodating my needs for high floor quiet room overlooking Tribune Tower.
Very comfy bed and updated bathroom although building seemed to be historical with some ages behind it.

Free breakfast and other perks of being a Hilton Honor member made my stay even better. I would definitely come back!
