Dracena Quarry Park

An amazing experience! Beautiful. A walk that will tire you out, but you'll see beautiful flowers and foilage before you pass out! Seriously, take the nature walk. You won't regret it.

A nice park nestled in the hills of Piedmont with giant trees, tall bridges, plenty of green grass, a tree stump picnic table and a unique playground.
The play area has swings, a structure, plenty of sand, a climbing wall and a wide cement slide in the center. (A perfect alternative to the long windy cement slide at Codornices). The structure has steps, a climbing surface, a ladder, monkey bars, a steering wheel and a noise maker. The other side of the slide is mostly sand with a few small knee high rocks for climbing. The play area has two swing sets (standard on one side of the big slide and bucket on the other). Between the sandy play area and the open grass field is a great climbing wall with many options for the aspiring rock climbers. The grass area is surrounded by a sidewalk look making a perfect place for scooting or biking. There’s no exit beyond the climbing wall so it’s a nice worry free space to let a kid play.

This park is, just like it’s name says, on an old an old quarry and young geologists can climb the hills and see evidence of the parks history.
There are many entrances into this park. From the lower entrance Ricardo Ave, it’s a short walk up a sidewalk to the playground. From El Cerrito Ave it’s even less of a distance. There is resident only parking on Artuna Ave so be mindful of that. There are a few entrances on Park Way that start out in the trees and a couple on Dracena Way.
There is off leash dog areas so be aware if you have littles who might get frightened.

This is a park, lots of trails and quiet. Also has some grass areas. Very well maintained.

Surrounded by high cliffs so a lot of shades on sunny days and if you want a lot of sun area also. Children staff also cool, climbing wall for kids and scooter area. Drinking fresh water also available side of climbing area.

Reallu nice place to come here with your dog or kids (warning is nor gated park for dogs) this park is really neutibul amd nice

Lovely park. Quiet and cute. Plenty of open space to picnic or play sports. The park has 2 toddler swings, a slide, sand pit, play structure and rock wall.

Beautiful park, with a bathroom and high quality playground equipment and climbing wall. Long redwood ravine that also acts as an off-leash dog run.

So peaceful! I spent two hours here with my 3-year-old goddaughter and it was a delight to explore. There are many different trees - oaks, redwoods, eucalyptuses, Buckeyes, etc. The playground has a sweet climbing wall. Dog walkers were friendly and kind to the small child I was with. It is truly a hidden gem in an architecturally beautiful neighborhood.

Really nice pocket park. Tall trees, well kept paths, nice and green.

Big playground area. Plenty of sand to play in. Also a climbing wall for kids. Plenty of room to run around and picnic. Good for a flat walk or dog walking. Several steep stairways if you want the exercise.

Love love love this park. The dog walk through the redwoods is just blissful. And the walk / bike around the quarry for kids is great. Big grassy area in the middle perfect to toss a blanket and hang out all day

Good park for kids, there's a rock wall, swings, and other playground toys. Very relaxing and typically quiet if you don't go during peak hours

Nice little park. Doggies love the little trails that circle around. Clean mostly. Lots of children playing. Nice grassy fields to take an afternoon nap to escape from the town.

Nice steep trails for walking, biking, dogs can run free in sections, peaceful park for relaxing, place for kids. Something for everyone, and everything is packed compactly into a small area, forested old quarry

Excellent variety of activities available at this former rock quarry.

Multiple play areas for kids, including a short cement slide, bouldering wall, sand pit, and bouncy areas. With a fairly well maintained bathroom right next to the play areas.

Also includes tree lined walking pathways, as well as open grass spaces for playing or just laying around in the sun.
