Alice Street Bakery Café

I purchased a 6" fresh fruit cake from Alice Street Bakery, and it was an absolute delight! As a first-time customer, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and efficiency of their service.

Here's what stood out to me:
1. Efficiency: I was in a rush to find a cake for Mother's Day, and Alice Street Bakery didn't disappoint. Despite my last-minute request, they assured me that my cake would be ready by 5 pm.

2. Moist and Flavorful Cake: The cake itself was a masterpiece. Moist, flavorful, and not overly sweet—the perfect balance. The sponge was light and airy.

3. Convenient Payment Options: They accept cards, which is always a plus for me.

4. Reward Program: Alice Street Bakery has its own reward program. As a new customer, I received a 10% discount on my first purchase. It's a great incentive to keep coming back!

Freshly made sweet roll, with a crunchy toasted outer shell. The eggs are made to order, with a perfectly sized ham. When you're done, your tastebuds want to be reunited with this perfect breakfast sandwich.

A popular sit-down bakery next to Lincoln Park and at the edge of Chinatown that has a wonderfully large sandwich menu. The shop has some comfortable seating but most patrons probably order take out. The boba tea is pretty good as well.

What a hidden gem.
Their Asian style bread with different filling are wonderful. I especially like their bread with corn and ham.
They also recently added sandwiches which reminds me the sandwiches I had in Asia.
Their shrimp sandwich was fry with Japanese Tempura batter (if you like Tempura shrimp).You can choose different sauces to go with it. I highly recommend the fish or shrimp sandwich with lime sauce. Sooooo good!!

If you ever find yourself with a fancy coffee in hand, farmers market goods in your bag, waiting patiently in line at Bake Sum (they're great, love the vision but respect is due where it's due...) , well, you first need to pay homage to Alice Street Bakery Cafe.

Alice Street Bakery is the OG!!! This is where it all starts. This is the quintessential Cantonese bakery satisfying all your sweet and savory bun, custom cakes, and drink needs. Everything is exactly as it should be: perfectly set up with a couple tables for your Cantonese uncles and grandpas to mull over tea and cakes during their morning chats, while the young kids ogle over pretty slices of cake in the front, and regulars hustle in and out with their favorite buns. This is not precious, butter-laden, French-inspired pastry culture. This is Cantonese baking at its best, its most original, and yet perfectly situated for our modern times. AND the staff is surprisingly, ridiculously, helpful and sweet. We need to keep places like Alice Street Bakery alive and, trust me, we will be back many many times again. And tip them well!!!

Very cozy place to get a snack. I’ve ordered doordash and physically gone there, and both times the food was excellent! The mysterious volcano, the classic milk tea, and the strawberry smoothie are all delicious and the breakfast sandwiches (both bagel and pineapple bun ones) are amazing and so filling. I would definitely recommend this place for food and boba as they have something for everyone.

Excellent bakery!!! I needed a small, last-minute cake for a friend's birthday. These guys were able to decorate one of their American-style cheesecakes with extra strawberries and a personalized chocolate heart--all in less than 30 minutes! They even gave me a plastic cutter and birthday candle.
My friend loved the cake. Its texture was perfect, and the mixture of fresh fruits and cheese flavor were perfectly balanced and not overly sweet.
I will definitely return, especially to try out their different teas.

While on my vacation in East Oakland for almost two weeks now, I have spoiled myself with Uber Eats everyday. They have the best iced coffe, Vietnamese iced coffee and hot lavender latte. The crab Rangoon is the best I’ve ever had. Their bubble / boba tea was out of this world!! Presentation was GREAT. The food was still just as delicious from delivery. I will probably order again before I leave. From the options I had in this area from Uber. This was my FAVORITE place to order from 10/10 everything

You have to try their Shrimp Burger with Spicy Mayo! It’s big enough to share for two people and the best in the Bay Area!

Great place to take kids for a quick after school snack. I love their sponge Swiss cake slices.

Grabbed a bag full of goodies from here, and everything was yummy, fresh, and filling. Excellent option for a delicious snack or refreshing tea.

I ordered a last min cake. They told me that they can put a Happy Birthday message on it without me even asking for it. I like that they offered that. This picture isn't great. But this was their last minute cake decoration. I love it!

Had a ham pineapple bun sandwich, delicious. Had a breakfast bagel sandwich and it was one of the best I've ever had.d the bagel was soft and warm with a lil crunch instead of the usual dried out chew fest. Great prices, and chill non pretentious atmosphere. Will be going back

The best bakery in Chinatown. Uncommonly clean for the area, no flies, and they accept credit cards. You can also order through UberEats.

The japanese cheese cake is the best in the city i come all the way from sacramento 2x a week!

Ordered a birthday cake and they were super nice to wrap it with ice after I mentioned were going to a picnic.

One of my favorite bakeries. The fresh egg tarts are perfection with a flaky crust. Their cream rolls are also the best in town. Not too sweet and the right amount of fluff. Reasonably priced and nice staff.

I picked up a few items from 2good2go and was actually pretty impressed!
Their boba tea was fantastic! Boba was done just right 👍

The bakery makes both sweet and savory treats - custard tarts, small sandwiches and buns stuffed with cheeses and meats. All items are $1-3 each. It's a great place to stop for a quick bite and relax, or load up on treats while you're in Chinatown.

UPDATE - This place is newly renovated & very clean. It has plenty of indoor seating. They recently added boba teas to the menu.
