Courtyard by Marriott Oakland Downtown

It’s next to Chinatown & 5-10 walk to Oaklands waterfront. Location is great. Parking is additional money, but it’s the Bay Area. Your paying for the location. It was nice to take the Bart to meet up with family in the east bay.

My only suggestion is not to to get coffee at the hotel breakfast bistro. Decent offerings, but thinly staffed. Tough for bistro person to make coffee & serve food. As a former restaurant person, I’m assuming maybe… someone called out? But 10 minute wait for coffee isn’t a hard problem to solve. Please note, I drink drip coffee and put milk in it. Not complicated.

The grab & go options are a nice touch. Plus rooms and staff were great. I loved the gym. Had plenty of basics for a solid workout.

However, as a huge coffee person. Who’s generally tight on time. Were grumps, solid grumps. I don’t want water, I want fresh coffee in the lobby in the morning .Is it too much to ask?

Small hospitality gestures. Make huge differences.

The staff was extremely nice! The room was more than we expected on such short notice too. Great place to stay!

I went for a study Research on their installation. Food was provided and it is great!
The front desk and valet Parking service has been very friendly
Restrooms are clean
I could see they have a great pool and a nice gym.

It's located in Downtown Oakland. Sketchy at night so be careful. Not the hotel fault though

Right on the BART train line, big comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Friendly staff.

My one issue is none of the staff were knowledgeable about the surrounding area so they couldn't direct you to any of the great places around.

Friendly staff. Laundry room, only one washer. Complimentary laundry soap. Gym, pool, Starbucks, communal microwave. Room had a refrigerator but no safe. I like to put my passport in the safe. Lots of coffee shops and restaurants to walk to as well as the train system. Valet parking.

All I wanted to say is AMIKA who is the jolliest person alive gave us the tips on where we can have a quick bite and showed us to the local bars and made our 2 night stay very memorable ...

Absolutely one of the best Marriott Courtyards I've been in, and I stay in Marriotts almost every week. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly, the establishment was impeccable, clean, with amazing amenities. AAA place.

The only superficial negative I can think of is the $30 price tag for a double Makers Mark whiskey pour, which is $3 over the average price of the whole bottle...but it's a convention center location so that is to be expected.

Everything about this stay was great! Serhat went over and beyond with great customer services and awesome recommendations. He was amazing! Breakfast was really good. Justin served me each day with a big smile and more great service. I would definitely stay here again.

3rd time since I found this place was closest a venue we frequent and its close to all major freeways and some food as well...The parking sucks and the charge is ridiculous and the staff need assistance remembering hours of their on site dining...but overall a good place to stay. Beds are comfy and no extra noise.

This review is long overdue! I had a 4 month stay in romm 538 from July thru Nov 2022 while on an emergency detail w/the Postal Service. I can’t say enough about this amazing staff! I have so many to thank for making my stay so special! Front desk clerks….PK, Serhat, Amika & Archie…these awesome people went above & beyond to make sure I was comfortable & well taken care off….I’m not great w/names so didn’t list the others but they were great as well! Thank you Justin in the Bistro for your amazing smile & always knowing what I wanted! My valets Isaiah & Serge…..thank you for watching out for me! I gained new friends & it was hard saying goodbye. Hope for the opportunity to return someday!

I've never had a bad experience at the Marriot in Oakland. Great rooms, great service, conveniently located. Just park in the garage, car windows are expensive.

Great location. Staff was helpful and courteous. Down the street from the Bart station. I had no issues with a late check in, went pretty smooth actually. I had a comfortable King sized bed, room was very clean. I recommend this location for any stay especially the convenience of public transit.

We had so many last-minute changes and requirements for special accommodations, that we feel heartfelt shoutouts to Michale, Dikscha, and Adham are in order! They were very professional, but also very friendly and helpful. They went over and above to accommodate all our requests and we are extremely grateful for their kind hospitality!!!

We will definitely be back. Location convenient. Cool farmers market on Fridays. Parking cost pretty steep at $30/day, but after hearing stories of street parking gone wrong, turned out to be worth it for security reasons and peace of mind. Pull-out sofa and bed comfy. Enough room to accommodate wheelchair. We are lucky we stayed and were treated like VIPs at the Courtyard in heart of Oakland Chinatown.

The location is very good. The staff are genuinely excited to assist, and almost always do it with a smile. The rooms are comfortable, with many overlooking Broadway. The beds are standard fare Courtyard - not uncomfortable, but not the best sleep you'll ever get. Overall, would recommend.

Hotel staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about things to do in the area. The assistant manager Vladimir and PK were so sweet and made the experience worthwhile. Location is spot on two blocks away from BART.

Located in interesting neighborhood. 4 minute walk to the subway. Rooms were spacious and clean and the front reception attendants were extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. Should stay again without a doubt. Loved the blackout curtains. I was able to get a good night's rest.

Right in downtown Oakland on Broadway between 9th and 10th, less than a 5 min walk from the 12th street Oakland BART station. The hotel entrance on Broadway is usually locked so you need your key card to get in, and the 9th street door has a doorman until late. The rooms are nice and clean with housekeeping on every other day. There is no complimentary breakfast but they do have a nice breakfast Cafe you can purchase from in the lobby.

This is a good location if you're going to Yoshis or riding Amtrak- that's what I primarily use this location for. Staff is always consistent and nice. Rooms are very clean but dated. This isn't the staff's fault though.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I get a senior citizen discount rate. My room had a king sized bed and a sofa as well as a fridge and a microwave. I felt very safe there. The fitness center is just off the lobby and requires a roomkey for entrance. I feel safe exercising there at any time. The Bistro has individual items such as yogurt and breakfast breads, which I prefer to a set menu, which they also have. Again the Bistro staff is very friendly. I've never eaten any meal except breakfast there.

Despite the somewhat harrowing reputation that Oakland has...this Hotel seemed safe and secure. Great water pressure, great nearby restaurants.
