Camellia Tea Room

Took my family to an afternoon tea to celebrate my mom's birthday on a Friday. We called 30 mins ahead in case but the place was nice and calm as they welcomed us in quickly. We had three traditional teas ($29 per person for their own teapot, finger sandwiches, scones, and other delicious desserts), and a couple a la carte orders. Everything was sooo delicious. My mom forgot to share her asparagus quiche, my brother devoured his spinach quiche. The tomato bisque was light and creamy, the cream of mushroom soup was divine. We all loved the raspberry cake! The cookies were a perfect crisp edge and chewy inside. The mini lemon tarts were adorable! I had the creme brulee tea with cream and sugar which was just as heavenly as I imagined. They were friendly and accommodating as it was a lent Friday, we asked for meatless options and they graciously made us a few tomato avocado finger sandwiches instead of their usual third option that had a meat in it, but the egg salad and cucumber finger sandwiches were super good too. We even enjoyed their piano soundtracks which featured classics and even pop tunes.

A great place for tea and for lunch. I had the stuffed potato with the mini salad which was very good also the lemon cheese cake was very good also.

This is perfect for a girls day out! Excellent service and great menu options. Will be back here. I wish I had my bridal shower here.

This is my happy place. I love coming here with my daughters. We always get the traditional tea and love trying all of the different sandwiches and desserts. It's always a treat to come here and the service is excellent. They have a huge variety of different teas here and it's fun to try different ones every time. Although I like the citrus blend tea the most.

A friend and I took our girls here for lunch yesterday and we were pleasantly surprised. The tea room offers a wide range of salads, sandwiches, and hot and cold teas on their menu. I LOVED the vegetarian sandwich. The tomato bisque soup was creamy and perfectly blended, and the girls loved their finger sandwiches and fruit. We topped the meal off by sharing dessert (Strawberry Shortcake and Lemon Cream Cheese pie - both are to die for). The atmosphere was very pleasant and while there, two baby showers were either ending or beginning.

Unique, classy, and satisfying experience in lovely Benicia! They accommodated our walk-in party of two for lunch on a Saturday. Food and service were outstanding. Had the perfect sized lunch and an amazing chocolate croissant bread pudding. A couple large parties inside made it unbearably loud, but it was peaceful and pleasant eating outside. Will return soon. Highly recommend!

We were running late, so I called Camelia Tea Room and asked if we could still stop in. They close at 4 pm. Heidi answered the phone and very politely said, "yes, we'll be glad to wait for you." We arrived at 4 pm and Beth, one of the owners, greeted us with a very warm smile. That, certainly eased our anxiety due to our late arrival. We asked Beth about different teas and their medicinal effect (s.) She very patiently explained them to us. In fact, she recommended this one particular tea and offered to make us cup of it. Wow! What wonderful customer service. The tea was amazing. We happily purchased two large bags of tea. Each one addressing different symptoms. We will definitely be back to enjoy some more tea there, some food and their warm hospitality.

Always a delightful couple of hours enjoying tea and catching up/spending time with a cousin. Service was awesome today. Waitress was originally from Australia, but don't recall her name. The traditional tea is what we usually get with sandwiches, scones, and pastries. And, they are always accommodating with switching out sandwiches for me as I am vegetarian. Highly recommend.

My wife and I have been coming to the tea room many, many times over the past five to six years. We have brought business and work associates plus some friends from England. Without fail ourselves and everyone we've brought enjoyed it tremendously. Any type of tea you might want and if your not sure they'll ask some questions and, based on your answers, make suggestions. The food is always good. In addition to sandwiches and salads traditional tea is also served with mini-sandwiches and scones. Delicious!
Be sure and order the tomato bisque. It's made from a secret recipe which they won't give out. I like that.

The tea room itself is lovely. The waitress gave me pointers on making my own scones (at home) better, and took her time answering questions.
I got creme brûlée tea and it was yummy and the scones and jam were delicious. Actually going back tomorrow, (hubby took all scones to work with him)

Took my 5 year old granddaughter out to have a tea party, just the two of us. We dressed up and were treated so well. The atmosphere was very friendly and cozy and the decor was perfect for our tea party. Lots of choices of teas and treats. We ordered the 3 tier tray and my granddaughter's eyes were full of excitement. She especially appreciated that she had her own teapot of hot chocolate and got to pour it into a beautiful dainty tea cup. Drinking and teaching me how to lift your pinky as you sip. Lol. We absolutely want to visit them again. My granddaughter selected the pb&j sandwich with hot chocolate. Wonderful selection of teas, I had the oolong tea with a hint of ginger. The pesto finger sandwich was my favorite. The fresh creme was very good also. Reasonably priced.

A lovely little tea room in downtown Benicia! The corn chowder and Blue Lady tea were delicious. We visited at opening time on Sunday, and were able to get an outddor table for two without reservations, though it was quite crowded and therefore would probably be wise to make reservations.

My friends. Have you not been to the Camellia Tea Room? It's really very lovely. My dear sister and I went and had tea, both pots were divine.
Caramel apple and Genmeicha, the Genmeicha was a warm cup of comfort. Caramel was so yummy too but my favorite was the Genmeicha green tea. We had the four salad sampler and the quiche was perfect, you can taste the care in their food! Buttery crust and so savory.

Lovely spot for tea or lunch! You can choose a full tea or order a la carte, which is really nice. Scones served warm, nice salads, chocolate croissant bread pudding is wonderfully wicked for dessert.

A wonderful way to celebrate a birthday!!

This is the place to meet girl friends or take your little girls. The classic tea is awesome and is served on a raised stand. Tea and a sandwich is usually my choice. Yesterday I had the Italian Tuna on rustic foccacia and the always wonderful creamy tomato bisque. Tea selection is huge. There's also wine if you want. Near to artists studios, shops and waterfront for a walk afterwards.

What a wonderful experience!!!! The Camellia Team Room was more than we expected. A small group of us celebrated a 75th birthday of a dear friend. Her wish was to have high tea!!! We couldn't have asked for better food, service, surroundings and the lovely people!!!! We will for sure return!!!

Delicious food in lovely Benicia. I always stop here when I am in the area...my favorite is the afternoon tea, but the salads are equally wonderful. If you are a loose tea fan, they also have a beautiful selection to choose from, along with the pretty tea accessories.

Very friendly atmosphere and Associates were very friendly and our food was excellent!! The only thing is that they had ran out of scones!! Which my granddaughter wanted to have with her tea!!
