Very nice park

Cute little park!

The kids playground is in very good shape actually, and we see kids and families playing there at least once a week. I also see at least three dog walkers per week. This is another case of the shameful redlining of Oakland because this West Oakland Park has literally been chained shut by the city, so the local projects across the street don't even have access to the main part.

There's a peaceful community of EX homeless people creating a model village on the other side of the fence that's completely covered by privacy screen.

I see great potential for this park. It should have a live music stage, and a maker shop, and an outdoor kitchen, a gigantic tree net climbing structure, all kinds of food trucks, and basically make it like a year-round summer camp for the local kids and families of the neighborhood.

The picture must have been when it was just built because it doesn't look like that now. There are 2 sections to the park. The first, (like the picture shows), is a kids playground. If looks a lot different now, the sponge-like material the covers the ground is broken up in spots with pot holes and I have never seen a single child 1 time. The 2nd part to the park is approximately 1 acre of grass, "Inclosed" with a chain link fence. Unfortunately, the chain fence is cut in a couple spots so beware and careful your dog doesn't decide to pull a Michael Scofield and try a prison break. It's a big park so I wouldn't worry about it to much. I've been going the for 5 months now and only seen 1 other person with their dog so if you want solitude thats your park. It's honestly just a shame the City of Oakland doesn't put a small fraction of money into repairing the fence and mabey installing some dog obstacles or something. Also there are no bathrooms or water fountain so if you do come bring your own water.

Not really much of a park. It used to be a school. Now it looks abandoned.

Small park ravaged by vandals. Not so fun for the kids when half the structure has been melted with fire. Sad.
