Fremont Fire Station 6

I met all the firemen at FS#6 on Friday, July 14, 2017 at the ground breaking for the new 30 homes Habitat for Humanity will be building next door to their station. They are turned out in their dress blues, and are very proud to be part of the building of home for their new next door neighbors. They showed an uncommon and admirable commitment to community involvement by attending the ceremony. I understand when they are not helping build, they will be BBQ'ing their famous chili for the construction men, women and families. I drove all the way from Sacramento's Housing and Community Development's office to show support for the project built partly with a grant from the Cap and Trade money that the State established a few years ago, and that Governor Brown is trying to get extended through 2030. Fremont is lucky to be home of a new affordable housing development and to have an impressive group of Firemen working for its residents in Centerville. It was great to meet and talk with them.
