I really enjoyed the food. My friend and I ordered a variety of different things. My favorite is their pork fried rice and their orange chicken. Yum.
I was pleasantly surprised because they also had a dj playing music while we were eating. He was awesome. The music was a smidge too loud but I loved it. Because the restaurant got so packed, out waitress was taking longer and longer to tend to us. That's about the only downfall and their cocktails weren't the greatest but that's not a big deal to me at least.

Keep in mind that people will get up and start dancing, so be prepared for that... I definitely recommend to go and experience it.

Happy hour times are incredible, delicious food at affordable price. Open fire pit areas and Lounge great ambience as well as heated seating even the owners and staff are very friendly.

Modern China Cafe is a lively, high energy lounge with a great atmosphere, spectacular fire-pit seating, authentic Chinese cuisine, and a fantastic mixology bar.
Serving up small plates and dim sum, as well as family style portions, Modern China, is simply the best place I love the atmosphere the staff is awesome they have a great attitude you're fun to hang out with and they can talk to you about anything I mean this place is like a family place, I mean do you ever just feel like you just belong somewhere this is it really this place is fun.

I'm a picky eater, but this place did it. Lived their Kung Pao Chicken and Walnut Shrimp. I think we had about 16 different dishes and all were great.

I get their takeout all the time! A little pricey in my opinion but so worth it. I’ve been looking for a new Chinese food place since I moved from the city, and this is the best Chinese food place I have ever tasted and their Mongolian beef, spring rolls, and cucumber salad are absolutely divine! I recommend this to all my family and friends. I also go to eat their with coworkers after work on occasion. Love this place sm!

Best deal in Walnut Creek. Be careful with reasonable prices encouraging you to order more than you need. Outside seating is perfect for friends hanging out.

I stumbled upon this place on my way back from dinner. The energy and music made it impossible to walk past without making a stop. The drinks and sushi were amazing.

This spot has a great vibe to it, especially if you want a night out with friends, love the ambience, the cocktails are great, the ability to eat dimsum late at night, the fire pits....

Everything honestly was good, I just had some small dimsum appetizers and some cocktails, as we came here after a big dinner at Torsap Thai.

I'll be back to enjoy the dj another night, and I wanna try more of their menu !!! I love that the kitchen is open late !!!

Great atmosphere ambience outside. Had a nice set up with the fireplace. Staff was very nice and friendly. Also helpful. Food was good. I enjoyed it. My daughter didn’t enjoy some of hers but mines was great. I will definitely go again.

Staff got a little confused on orders but overall not bad. They were fast, Friendly and willing to fix mistakes. Food was very good.

If you are ever in Walnut Creek, this restaurant is a MUST visit!! From the ambiance to the servers to the food, everything was a hit. It even has an outdoor patio, and great music playing inside and out.
I personally didn't know what to order since everything on the menu looked delicious so we ended up just ordering what the owner suggested. I loved every single dish and even order few desserts after, we took the leftovers home and I demolished it later that night... lol
5/5 for cleanliness, speed, service, food and the vibes. Hope to be back again soon!!

Food was amazing! Fresh and flavorful. Atmosphere is wonderful! Staff was so amazing. Our drinks were PROMPTLY refilled, waiter checked on us as needed and was very kind! Food is very reasonably priced. 10/10 would recommend! This was my first time here and I will be coming back! The dim sum options are plentiful and again FOOD WAS AMAZING AND STAFF WAS THE BEST! Definitely make plans to come by. This restaurant is completely worth every penny!

HENRY!!! You ROCK my Friend. I had a last minute urgent order for 10 that he totally made possible. Literally ran the hot trays of food to my car. It Was National Doctor's Day and I needed to say thank you with a good lunch and they said the food was GREAT!

Modern China Cafe has been a long time favorite for all the reasons! I love the dim sum and just about all the small plates, but most of all every hour is happy hour! Great spot for night life and meeting new people

Had dinner here last week. We are not eating indoors yet so we appreciated the outdoor seating. The food was excellent. We had Mongolian beef which was outstanding. Lemon chicken was very good. Service was excellent. A little more expensive than we usually pay but a great place to go when we want to splurge a little.

The potstickers were a little doughy, but the rest of the food was fantastic

GO EAT HERE!! They're open late(midnight) and they serve alcohol! It has outside seating by fire pits and the inside atmosphere is great as well! Fast, polite service!!

This place is awesome. They have a really nice front patio, and they are in a great location. It is a popular spot, and almost always full of happy social people. The food is good, and they do most pf their menu on a happy hour menu. Happy hour runs all day and night until they close around midnight. Happy hour menu is Dim Sum portions, and they have a lot of Dim Sum items on the menu. I deliver for Uber Eats, and get a lot of delivery calls for this place.
