The Swan Hotel

We spent a couple nights in one of the cottages and it was cozy and comfortable. We picked this room for the seating options it provided as we tend to spend a bit of time in our room crafting, so it’s important to have seating other than the bed-so this was a big check. The room feels a bit outdated, but when you look at the privacy of the cottage, location, and just being in Port Townsend it was easy to overlook this. Plus, the gentleman working the front desk was very nice and welcoming!

Great location with super friendly hosts and staff. We stayed in one of the cabins which was cozy but well equipped. Sitting in the chairs and enjoying the view out back with a drink was great! Easy walk to restaurants and shops as well all the beautiful historic buildings downtown. Highly recommended!

Spent Christmas in one of the cottages and had an amazing cozy time! Bed was very comfy and we loved the jetted tub! Looking forward to coming back one day!

Lovely little accommodation right on the water in PT. The room is very comfortable and clean and the staff were super friendly. Also that it's run by the nonprofit next door is always a bonus. If we ever stay in PT again, the Swan will most definitely be our accommodation!

A wonderful stay at the beautiful penthouse level—2 private balconies with great mountain and ocean views. Excellent welcoming, friendly, and efficient staff—thanks Mike, Katie, and Kim!

We always look to the Swan when we stay in PT. As with this last time, their service is top, their rooms are comfortable. They're right across from the Maritime Center by the Point Hudson Marina. Very picturesque and walking distance to any restaurant in town (even the ones up the hill) or any of the maritime attractions. Close enough to anything you'd want to drive to on the (Quimper) peninsula.

Price is fair, and much better than the old barracks on Fort Worden, which used to be our bargain destination. Plus better located and more comfortable to boot.

We always get a room on the 2nd floor of their main building. Stayed in a cabin once long ago, and it was just fine. Just a personal preference. Parking on site, with very personable and helpful employees. Once they conspired with me to secret an ice bucket and a chilled champagne, that I bought down the street, up to the room. Sure, a hotel worth their salt will personalize, but somehow their enthusiastic engagement felt special.

Not a 5-star hotel in the sense of the Four Seasons - this is bargain territory. But their product and service merit 5 stars.

Had a lovely stay at The Swan for a weekend wedding. Great location! Just park the car and walk. Room was clean, housekeeping and front desk staff were friendly, responsive, helpful, professional. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Swan Hotel!

We spent three nights in Jan 2023, with our dog and it was great! Plenty of availability, super clean, and easy walking distance to all things downtown. So many nice touches, including dog treats with our own dogs name on them! Plus, The Swan supports the non-profit Maritime Center! We will be back!

Clean, great location, attention to detail, and friendly!
We stayed in one of the cottages and it was the perfect size for two people and a dog. They provided a dog bed, dog bowls, towels, poop bags, and treats for our dog! The space was really clean abs cute. All of the staff was really friendly! We also loved the location!! It’s walking distance to town and the water. No need to drive once you’re parked.

I stayed in a cottage, which was roomy and clean. Great location in downtown and walking distance to restaurants, shops. Off-street parking provided. Fireplace! Although I stayed in June, it was lovely after I got caught in the rain. Comfortable bed and soft sheets and fluffy towels. And, the morning of my arrival I received an email that my room was ready if I wanted to check in early. So thoughtful and very much appreciated. Check in easy. First trip to Port Townsend, which I loved so I will be back and will stay here again.

The hospitality was wonderful! I love this town! I also love that I could bring my furbaby to stay with us at this beautiful hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here! There were other guests with dogs and we didn't hear any noise or barking at all. The room was very clean. When we arrived there were treats for our girl which she loved! There was a Keurig machine which I loved! The room was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who has pets!

An outstanding little hotel right in town.

Most importantly in the pandemic, the rooms are immaculate and it's clear they take cleanliness and guest health seriously.

The building is older, but impressively maintained. All the lights, fixtures, and amenities work perfectly. None of the shakiness or looseness you sometimes find in older hotels. Clearly excellent attention to detail and upkeep.

Dog friendly. There is a pet fee, but they waived part of it for us because we provided our own bed and bowls.

Check in is run through The Bishop, around the corner.

Friendly folks, extremely clean room. Coffee setup included actual little coffeemate creamers, keurig french dark roast, and natural sugar. Bathroom v clean, room comfy and perfect for our short weekend stay pit-stop in between all the great things to see and do in PT! Thanks for such a nice memory, Swan. Oh yeah, we saw otters in the marina, bonus :)

3/2022 update - still 5 stars. The hotel is now owned by the Northwest Maritime Center, just across the street. You still get free access to the health club...

Have been visiting Port Townsend for many years (decades?) but this was our first stay at The Swan - everything good - room as pictured, good bed, actual half-n-half for the in-room coffee in the morning(!), and lovely and friendly staff at the Hotel. Bonus was the free admission to the Port Townsend Health Club, 50 yards away. Highly recommended.

Definitely staying again! The room was cozy and clean. Everything looked great. We stayed in a cottage and from the outside it looks small, but it's so spacious inside! Great service too. I forgot a jacket on the wall hook after we left and we got a phone call about it within 30 minutes!

Wonderful staff! The kind lady running the front desk took the time to point out interesting locations to visit, and worth while restaurants to try during our stay. Me and my girlfriend stayed in one if the small cottages while visiting Port Townsend for her birthday in January. The room was clean, we loved the fireplace, and my girlfriend loved the bathtub. We are both in our early 20s and the quiet pace of the hotel and the port town was the perfect escape from crazy everyday life. We can’t wait to go back!

My wife and I spent two nights here on our honeymoon. The room while small is well kept, comfortable, and clean. The location of the inn is spectacular. You are on the outskirts of the main town so you don't feel crowded, yet you are still in walking distance to much of the great stuff in the area. You are right next to the marina and as such have a great sight to wake to in the mornings. The people there are pleseant, and the rooms are very nice. We would have stayed longer except we had plans already made. We do want to go back to Port Townsend very soon and plan on this hotel being the place we stay the entire time. Also, if you are here, there is a diner across the marina that serves great breakfast, and a 50's style diner down the street that has awesome lunch.

We stay in one of cottages annually for an event weekend. Convenient location, off street parking, clean room. I also really enjoy their signature toiletries, including their special blend of bath salts. We look forward to coming every time, a nice little home away from home.

Quaint, picturesque seaside accommodation. Within walking distance to just about everything PT has to offer. We loved our little private cottage and separate patio looking out to the marina club and sea beyond. Enjoyed the room's extras like the fireplace, fixins for coffee AND tea, mini fridge and especially the jetted tub to ease the aches from hours of walking the shoreline and shops. Price is right, staff very friendly and happy. DVDs are available for a cozy night in, and would suggest they get a copy of An Officer and a Gentlemen as it was filmed in Ft. Worden and around town. (We watched it when we got home!) Great, quiet hotel and we'll definitely be back.
