I had the best vet experience here. I was able to schedule my cat for a sick appointment in <24 hours from calling even though we were new to the clinic.

The entire team was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Dr. O’Donnell was patient and thorough. At the end of our appointment, we were provided with transparent pricing and a menu of care options. The team followed up on the date promised with the results of some testing and helped us plan next steps.

To go above and beyond, the team even cleaned my pet’s carrier when he got sick in it during the appointment.

Incredible experience and the treatment plan worked well - he is on the mend!

I have brought 3 generations of dogs here, and we primarily see Dr. Hernandez. She is great, and I trust her expertise. All the staff are kind and caring. Dr. Hernandez recently stepped up to help my foster puppy with a medical emergency, and used their donation fund to defray some of the expenses to help the rescue group. Thank you for your heroic teamwork!

I was horrified when my dog had blood in his urine on a Saturday morning. They took me that afternoon. They took all the needed tests and sent me home with the needed medication. Still waiting on test results but their action was Swift and kind. My dog is not an easy dog to handle when he's getting poked and prodded and they took that burden off my hands too. Those vet techs deserve a medal.

Excellent pet care. Dr. Hillebrand is our vet there. The office personnel and vet techs are among the best we have experienced. Professional and kind. They are consistently gentle with our cats. We feel that they are in good hands at SMPMC.

I am more than pleased with Santa Monica Pet Center. I have been taking my furbaby there for the past 5 months since I adopted her and they have been nothing but kind and compassionate with excellent care. I love Dr Hernandez. I met another female vet when Dr. Hernandez wasn't available and she was also extremely thorough. The staff is kind. Phone calls are returned promptly. I am a very nervous mommy and they make me feel at ease. Yes they are on the expensive side, but isn't everything these days?? Peace of mind is important .. and so far that's what they give me. I found this place through online references and feel I got quite lucky.

I have been bringing my animals to Dr. Annie Hernandez at Santa Monica Pet Medical Center for 30 years now. Dr. Hernandez continues to be truly amazing. She is always friendly, down to earth, very professional, very willing to go the extra mile to offer help. She is consistenly on top of each pet's unique situation. I feel very lucky to have found her. The clinic staff are also friendly and very helpful. When I've had an emergency they always find a way to help me.

After returning with two geriatric cats to Santa Monica from Germany, I had terrible experiences with vets (VCA in particular--avoid at all costs), until SaMo Pet Med Center was recommended to me through a friend. This is an amazing place, Dr. George has been the best vet I've had, even after years of excellent care in Germany. Last year, he shepherded me through the end of life for my 18 year old siamese, which was such a blessing. He is honest, conservative about treatment, realistic, gives great advice, and never tried to sell me any unnecessary services.
I've taken our new 'bridge cat' (the helper for the surviving geriatric siamese of our bonded pair) to him today, and his recommendations were consistent. If you are looking for a not just good, but AMAZING vet, this is the place.

Dr. Annie Hernandez is total package. As a health care provider myself, I know how important, and yet rare it is, to be knowledgeable, kind, re-assuring and practical. Dr. Hernandez is all parts. We have taken our animals here for many years and the doctors and staff are always so friendly and caring. We have never felt like we were being "upsold" into treatment/lab work/etc as we have at other vets in the past. The doctors speak to you in terms you can understand. Being given all the information puts you in control, as a pet owner, you want to feel that you are making the best and most sound decisions for your pets.

This vet has changed my whole outlook on vets in LA. after having a shocking experience for many months at two other vets, this one was recommended to me and has not disappointed.
From the reception (either on the phone or at the surgery), to email responsiveness, and then finally to the care, service, professionalism and friendliness of the team Santa Monica Pet Medical has been outstanding.

I had such a wonderful experience here last evening with Dr. Hernandez and the front office staff and vet tech. I have come here for many years and have always received excellent service, especially when my kitty passed away peacefully at home in my arms in 2019 and they sent me such a beautiful card with heartfelt, handwritten condolences from the vet who had cared for him and the staff and a little seed packet in the shape of a heart to plant flowers in his honor (which grow to this day). Last evening, I took my new little kitty who was abandoned and adopted us in for a check-up and a diagnosis on a skin allergy that was bothering her (darn fleas!!!). I was treated with friendliness and professionalism from the start by the staff and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Hernandez! She is absolutely lovely, friendly, knowledgeable and patient and was so kind to me in answering all of my questions, giving me different options for treatment and calming my fears. My kitty feels 1,000 % better this morning and I am so grateful to Dr. Hernandez!!! Devon in the front office is so amazingly warm, friendly and kind, it was like talking and laughing with an old friend, and I apologize for not getting the other lovely employees names because they absolutely deserve a shout out too! I will never go anywhere else for the treatment of any pets that I have. My pets are family and they deserve the best! Thank you again everyone at Santa Monica Pet Medical!

I'm actually hesitant to leave a great review because I selfishly don't want to wait behind everyone when they find out how fantastic Santa Monica Pet Medical Center is. The front office/reception employees are helpful, courteous, informed, and passionate about animals. I've seen nearly all the vets and each is incredible in their own way. Whenever they meet with me and my dog, they are patient and explain everything I need to know, answering all of my questions without ever talking down to me.
I wish my own doctor's office worked as well as this one does.

My family has been taking our pets here for years. Dr. George is beloved in our home! I’ve never felt pressured into unnecessary treatment, everyone is very kind and thorough, and the care our animals have received has been consistently great.

SMPMC is amazing! I am a first time pet owner and needed a lot of help and questions answered. The entire staff was so friendly and kind and you can tell they really love animals. They understand how emotional pet owners are and are very sympathetic to that. Dr Miller and Mary Rose in particular were phenomenal. They were so patient and so kind. I very much appreciate the team there!!! And so did my kitten- he even fell asleep because he felt so comfortable!

This was our first vist. Dr. Yuan gave Coco (11 years old) a comprehensive examination and was extremely helpful and thorough. This is our new vet.

We switched to Santa Monica Pet Medical Center four years ago after several very unhappy experiences with previous vet. What a difference! The waiting room is bright, clean, and spacious. Every staff member is kind, helpful, and extremely competent. I've had experience with each of the vets. They are skilled, efficient, yet always take time to get to know you and your pet. When I had to put my thirteen year old dog to sleep due to cancer Dr. Annie Hernandez was gentle and exceptionally compassionate to the point of sending me a sympathy card. When I brought in my new puppy for her series of shots and to be spayed I knew she was receiving the best of care from all those involved. Santa Monica Pet Medical Center is a top-notch facility!
