Tacos Viva La Estrella

I come here at least once a week, the tacos are always on point and never anything different. The truck arrives after 6 pm, and if you follow their instagram page, they have updates all the time on if they are not going to be there. Sometimes I’ve waited a few minutes to get some food to me as well but it’s not a big deal. I know they are putting the food together and it ain’t slopped together like fast food. If you can’t wait 15 minutes to get some authentic real Mexican food, Taco Bell’s next door, I’m sure they would be glad to serve you their tacos in under 15 minutes for you. I think they play music in there too. I’ll wait in line to get real tacos just like the last day when they were at the stand where they were gentrified out of, I bet all those reviews are from that other taco place worried about the competition. I’ll never go to that taco stand that took over the La Estrella stand ever. Thank your for all the bomb food and the good service you guys always provide. Me and my lady will be there tonight after I’m done cutting hair. We love you guys and glad you are back.

I've been going here for more than 22 years although not frequently I admit. Maybe I'd add stop by here after I went to smart & final for a couple past or couple carnitas tacos, or late at night in my nocturnal days (TM). I've never had their fish taco or shrimp taco, and BECAUSE I'VE BEEN ON A SHRIMP TACO TEAR FOR THE LAST MONTH I ordered two of the shrimp and one of the fish. At first I thought I made a mistake because They were enormous, about twice the size that I was expecting and I thought it was never going to finish them. Then I started eating them and had no trouble finishing them because they were absolutely delicious. A prophet is ignored in their own hometown, and I was really impressed with the tacos here I'd say they were between 8 or 9, and the salsa Rojo was perfect.

The Mexican food I grew up with! I’ve moved to San Diego and still have to make the trip up every now and then just for the carne asada burrito. So delicious, so authentic, and the perfect level of spicy.

I love this place. I've been eating here for over 20 years. The food is consistently amazing. I haven't had anything bad from there and I've tried almost everything.

Me and some friends came here to eat tacos around 1 a.m. the service was really fast and the prices were reasonable. I must say I have no complaints because we all loved our food. Oh and not to mention it's outdoor eating, but the Arts surrounding is very beautiful.

Friendly, tasty & great prices. Nostalgic flaovors hasn't changed in 16 yrs. Carne asada & Al pastor with works sals Rojo & Sidral Mundae soda bam! If they were in my neighbourhood I would be there alot.

It's in the food it tastes great but there not alot of salt. And the moral across the street is worth taking a picture in front. Have to park up the street because it on the corner and very small.

It really sucks that this place closed up shop. Been going there for years and now nothing. Gonna miss it BIG TIME!!!!!

The chorizo breakfast burrito here is one of the best around. Ooey gooey cheesy fries and delicious spicy red sauce.
Get an horchata too!

I got a cheese quesadilla, 1 shrimp taco, 2 chicken tacos. Everything was amazing besides the shrimp taco. They put some kind of white sauce that I didn't prefer. The red and green salsa is delish! Although I wasn't full from the food. I still needed more :\

Grew up eating this. Still get it whenever I come back to town. Never disappointed. People giving low ratings must have had unfortunate experiences. This is better than the truck they have down on York and 54 - and that is better than all the other York spots. If you head down to Eagle Rock blvd there is Leos and Rambos trucks... also good - similar quality. Other than this you need to hit King Taco, which is better than la estrella imo. Few spots better - hit me up if you want to know the best Mexican food in LA.

The chicken here is always so tender and delicious! And they have the best salsa verde in California, soo I would highly recommend!!

24 hours and delicious. I love this place, this is the best of all the La Estrella's I've been to. I always drive straight past the two in Pasadena to come here.

Have been eating at multiple La Estrella for ages, but I'll talk about last time, my first visit in about 7 years.

It was 02:30 AM . We were toasted, but not burnt. There was a lively scene of locals standing around talking and eating. Ordered three tacos, two al pastor and one cabeza.

The Al pastor was OK, but not up to par with my memories, but the Cabeza was insanity, mouth melting Mephistopheles-deal good.

Might be my favorite taco place on the planet. The SHRIMP taco is the move. Cheap and authentic. If you're looking for elevated "bougie" tacos and cool vegan alternatives, this won't be your #1.

Fail Safe. This is my Go To Spot for Mexican food. Everything they make is guaranteed delicious. Funny thing is, there's a Taco Bell across the street from this place.. I bet they lose business daily to La Estrella!

The best fish tacos in town. Shrimp burritos and carne asada fries are hella good too. No vegan options because they do things traditionally. Get over it 😂

So good. A locals favorite spot. Open late. Excellent red sauce. Everything on the menu is really good if not great and the prices are perfect.
