Aero Theatre

I see most of my movies here, and they always feel like a special occasion. Surprise guests, filmmaker-focused, people who appreciate movies and creating conversations. I've seen some fantastic filmmakers giving talks here. A lot of classics and retrospectives. Usually an MC introduces the movie and pitches membership. The cool movie snobs! Not conceited, the theater is minimal, old-school, and just uncomfortable enough to inspire nostalgia. Definitely go see a movie here!

Cute little single screen theatre. Run by the American Cinematheque, the picture and sound are always first rate. Concessions are pretty good with hit popcorn and cold drinks, and they're reasonably priced. Programming selection is also great with popular movies with actor and directors on hand, to 70mm festivals every now and then.

This place is our church. Make sure to get a membership at the American Cinematheque!

this is my favorite movie theater! i would die if this place closed. i have seen so many great films and q&as here it’s basically my second home. if you have not been here yet you need to be sat immediately. absolutely love it!😸❤

Classic theater restored with great sound and a nice pic. The theaters seats are the old school style, but they really clean the theater and its spotless. Mostly shows classic cinema, retrospectives, and indie films.

Attended one of first reopening screenings. Just recently joined as a member and can’t beat walking to the theaters. Excellent theatrical experience and awesome staff. Feels great to have a quality local theater that showcases great films recent and classic. Will be coming back often. The crowd here is knowledgeable and you can tell they are huge fans of cinema. feels like a film festival crowd.

Lovely Friday Night at the Aero you can always find parking get coffee across the street at Pete's and see a great film with a fun movie loving crowd.

Love the Q&As with the actors and directors after the films.

Wonderful, accommodating staff, fantastic screenings with so many (often free) Q&As, and insane value for a yearly membership. One of our favorite places in the city!

Pleasant indy film theater experience - not crowded - in an historical neighborhood of aged ficus and trendy yet familiar restaurants, shops and cafes inviting one to wander.

I go here with my father to watch old movies from time to time. The staff is always helpful and positive, the theater has a nostalgic charm, and watching classics like It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World on It's original 70mm is beyond anything I have words to describe. Can't wait to come back.

Love to support small theaters! Its well air conditioned and the seats are very comfortable. Concessions are not crazy expensive and the service is fun and friendly. Its weird to go somewhere with a bathroom line for mens is longer than women's. Love this place, with parking was better.

Great theater with amazing sound and picture. Saw 2001: A Space Oddysey in 70mm and it was incredible. Just note the bathrooms get packed during the intermission.

Seen some fun films here. Great lil theater.

Gem of life: Annual Horrorthon

Nothing beats the Aero. While The New Beverly Cinema is the ultimate destination for fans of revival cinema due to it's daily schedule and incredible selection of movies, the Aero is actually my favorite theater for presentation. The seats are nice. The popcorn is good. But when the lights go down the place is magical. The screen is huge and they can show digital, digital 3D, 35mm film, but most impressively, 70mm film in full six-track magnetic stereo surround sound. This place is a movie lover's dream come true. Don't skip an opportunity to see a movie you love here or to just try something new.
