This is an old theater but it was clean and the seats were comfortable. We went to see To Kill A Tiger. Overall the theater was nice. I would return to see another movie.

I absolutely love coming here! Parking is easy to find and it’s right in the middle of everything should you want to make a day of it. I love the variety of films shown as well. Lots of foreign and indie films to pick from. The coffee is good as well. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

One of the nicest, cleanest, coziest most comfortable theaters I've been to. The decor is instantly memorable. The staff were above and beyond accomodating and friendly like a small town place not snobby or boujee (never know which to expect with a theater playing obscure films!) 11/10 would recommend. Also, the popcorn is EXCELLENT.

The third Laemmle I’ve been to and this one is small and squished into a larger building it shares with other businesses but it’s no less great of an indie theater specializing in foreign and indie films for reasonable priced tickets. Support them!

Very nice place. The ticket is very cheap and the movie selection is great. After discovering this little gem I started to come here every week.

WOW! This was a awesome experience for me to enjoy a great independent film on the wonderful coast of Santa Monica. Plush lazy boy seats, good refreshments without the big movie crowds at the major theaters. The Laemmle is truly a film house for relaxation and Cinema charm. DOLEMITE was dynamite!

Great theater… excellent variety and choice of art films… convenient parking right across the street … clean theaters and bathrooms! Nice concessions stand too!

Saw decision to leave here and the experience was great. There was a cheap parking lot across the street, 5 bucks for being gone around 2 and a half hours. The screens are small but it's not an issue, it's comfy and the quality is great. Definitely recommend!

The seats in this theater are plush. Definitely some of the most comfortable theater seats I’ve sat in for a normal price—like $12 for a ticket.

When I ordered popcorn I saw that it was old. Asked if I could get fresh. They brought me the fresh popcorn to my seat! Excellent customer service.

They also have a great selection of movies. Will definitely be going back.

Edit: now that I am on crutches their customer service has really shined even brighter. I really can only go here because it’s easily accessible and their staff is so helpful with everything that it makes me worry free about the whole process. Can’t say enough how great they are.

A really cozy, but modern and comfortable movie theater. 1000 times better than the AMC's on third street. The leather seats are comfortable (no electric recline though) and the AC is kept at a decent non-freezing temperature. Park at the public parking lots along 2nd street, it will probably cost you $7-11 to stay there 3-4 hours on a weekend. Restrooms are super clean!

Great little theatre right near the Santa Monica Pier with reasonably priced tickets and snacks. We saw Emily the Criminal - fantastic film and the leather armchair style seats were super comfortable!

Wow loved this theater. The seats are so comfy and the screen size isn't bad at all! Great selection of thought provoking and meaningful content.
We have a big tv at home so I prefer to go to the theater and support independent films and documentaries at the theater and watch blockbusters at home. And now we are just going to come here all the time because the seats were so comfortable (like arm chairs), it's clean and they often have showings with special guests.

Great experience at the complex. The staff was courteous and the theaters are well maintained. There is interesting art scattered across the space both downstairs and upstairs so take some time to look around if you have a chance. It’s nothing earth-shattering, but the subtle eccentricities make the Monica a cool indie movie space. Please support your local art cinemas. Typicallly they carry the best indie films the market has to offer.

I love this place. They host interesting events related to the movies, boast a friendly staff and have a diverse selection of world films.

If you haven't seen it yet, you must see Loving Vincent! Go while it is in special, local theatres like this one.

Pro Tips:
- Ask for a popcorn refill...it's free with a large! Real butter topping instead of the fake stuff.

What a hidden gem in Santa Monica!! We didn't realize this theater has been refurbished. Walked in for the 1st time and we were genuinely impressed with what they did. The place was clean, not crowded, city parking right across the street. Tix price was so reasonable. $6 for seniors. There is a great salad/sandwich restaurant right next door, south of the theater ... the salads were to die for. Enjoy!!

Had a great time seeing a New Zealand film the other week! Lots of interesting art on the walls and it was great to bring our drinks inside the theater. I read some really bad reviews on Yelp about the seats being terribly uncomfortable, which made me almost decide not to go, but then we went anyway and loved the seats. Not sure why others thought they were bad. Definitely get there early to score good seats, though, as the theaters are small.

Love this theatre! Especially after their recent renovations a few years ago.... Small and cozy... this theatre has 6 screens... some of them are very small and intimate... holding maybe only 40 or 50 seats.. And their seats are very comfortable... like huge comfy leather chairs... its like a production screening room at a studio... that's how cool these screening rooms are... and of course GREAT independent films, foreign films and documentaries. You won't find Jurassic World screening here. When I'm in Santa Monica... I always make time to go to this legendary theatre.

Love this neighborhood theater. First time back after Covid, what a joy. Love the $6 senior ticket and the senior popcorn and drink combo pack. Such a better feel than AMC a few blocks away. This feels family and neighborhood not huge chain feel.

Intimate family-run movie theater located in downtown Santa Monica. Parking across the street. Comfortable oversized seating but not reclining. Clean. Not busy perhaps because they cater to independent and foreign films. I consider this a plus.
