I was experiencing a problem with my car and had asked my neighborhood 411 group who they would recommend. Several people recommended McCabe's so I called to see what I was looking at for a repair. I spoke to Miles who was extremely helpful and patient. I explained that I thought I needed a new alternator and given the year make them all of my car, it's buried and takes a lot of labor hours to correct. The quote was for roughly $1,800 I think but he said but why don't you come by first and let me just look at it. So I brought the car by and Miles took one look under the hood and suggested that I first go to Les Schwab where I bought my battery and have them examine that as it was still under warranty. At the end of the day, Les Schwab cleaned up my battery and tested my alternator and for the grand total of $0 got me back on the road. All because Miles, at McCabe's, had the integrity and the decency to take time out of his morning to look at my car and refer me to the right place to fix it. A lot of less reputable places may have realized it was a simple fix and still charged me to replace a part I didn't need. I will take my car to McCabe's for everything from wiper replacements to an engine replacement. You just can't buy honor and integrity!!! ❤❤❤❤❤

I found McCabes automotive repair to be professional and reasonably priced. The loaner car came in handy, but the work on our car met all our expectations. We heard of them from former customers who recommended them. Being new in the area, we’re pleased with their professionalism. Five Stars.

Pre Purchase Inspections
I found a vehicle that I was interested in buying and decide to have a pre purchase inspection done. I googled automotive shops near the car lot that do a pre purchase inspection. I came across McCabe's, gave them a call and spoke with CJ. She gave me all the info I needed quoted me the price set up my appointment. She called me after the inspection and gave me the report and emailed it to me. This was hands down the best interaction I have ever had with and auto repair shop.

Easy to make an appointment, service completed in a timely manner, staff friendly and knowledgeable. When I was younger, I worked in two different service departments, so I know what to expect. McCabes is wonderful.

Came in to get my brakes serviced. The staff is super friendly and amazing. My service advisor, Miles, was super patient and kind when he explained the issue and the solution. They were able to get a full inspection and replace my brake pads and rotors in one day. I was concerned about how I would get to work if they couldn't complete the brakes in one day, and the front desk receptionist, Kita, did not hesitate to offer a loaner car. I've found my neighborhood home for auto repair! <3

I needed my pending truck (H2 Hummer) inspected before I wired the money. I asked for their service department to make sure that I was getting what I was going to be paying for. McCabe's Automotive went above and beyond. They sent me photos of the truck (of which the seller did omitted on ebay). McCabe's Automotive inspection was in detail which showed the truck had MANY technical issues. They charged a fair price too.
Myles, the technician, and I came to the conclusion that it was like Forrest Gump.... Run Forrest RUN was my reaction. I canceled the deal and did not wire the money. Thank you Myles and McCabe's Automotive service. I wish they had similar companies here in Florida with your quality to service. I highly recommend them.

Hands down, all my worries have been placed to the side when it comes to Mcabes. I know I won't be overcharged, and it's honest work. Precision had charged me for work that was never done and did half a** work. My vehicle has been running great since I've chosen this place!! Love the lady in the office and the mechanics. My loyalty is 100%.

This was my 4th time to McCabe's Auto for scheduled services on our 2 SUVs. This was a major service, 60k miles.

The team at McCabe's quoted the exact services that the full price OEM dealer prescribes, used genuine Porsche parts and did a fantastic job! Much less expensive than the dealer, completed the work on-time and the PEOPLE at McCabe's make such a difference. Polite, friendly, a family atmosphere.

The shop has ASE certified mechanics.

This was my first car break in. I’ve never had to find an automotive specialist before, so I was nervous on my search to find a shop that was best suited for my situation (my car was broken into and they damaged the steering wheel console amongst other things). I chose McCabe’s because I read good reviews and liked what they offered on their site. I’m so happy I chose them. When I called I immediately felt comfortable talking to the receptionist(?) Jeanette and the whole team took very good care of me and handled everything perfectly and as fast as they could. I was informed of what was going to happen/when it was going to happen through the whole process, right from the gate. They made me feel welcome and that I was their top priority! I will always go back to them.

I honestly would recommend McCabe's to anyone and everyone. I was super frustrated after having my car wrecked and I didn't even know where to start but both Ashley and Jeanette extensively explained the procedures and gave me updates on progress of my car's diagnostics and potential repairs. Up until the last minute, I was assisted. Thank you for an amazing experience McCabe's.

While I don’t typically spend a lot of time in the Tacoma area, I had been in town recently working for a few days and needed an oil change before I drove home. I was very fortunate to find McCabe’s and thrilled they were able to get my 2014 Volt in before I had to return home. It is a rather large shop, to include a dedicated bay and lube technician available to perform the oil change. They were able to get my car in and out in less time than promised, and the price was very reasonable as I felt I received excellent value for the services received. In addition to the oil change, they checked all fluids and topped up the air in the tires, making for a safe trip home. The shop has been a successful family owed and operated business since 1972. Rick and his daughter Ashley run a tight ship, very clean and very well organized. If you are looking for an oil change (or other work), choose McCabe’s over any of the budget shops such as Jiffy Lube or Valvoline. You will get great service from experienced technicians rather than the ‘fast food’ type service received from the budget shops.

I don’t always take the time to review businesses, but I had such a great experience I have to share! To preface this, I have had many negative experiences in the past with auto shops - this is the FIRST time I have been met with kindness and complete honestly. I brought my car in for an oil change as well as general diagnostic (not the best at keeping up with maintenance) I knew there were things that needed to be taken care of but wasn’t in a position to do it all at the time. I had an emergency while my car was being worked on and the owner offered to drive me to take care of it - I couldn’t even believe the customer service and heart of the owner and employees. When my oil change was done I was provided with a thorough breakdown of what needed to be repaired at some point. No pressure to commit, no judgement, just honest information. I can’t express enough how much I recommend this shop. Thank you for being kind and understanding, you have gained a lifetime customer.
