Nice local Mexican bakery. Everything is tasty. They have hot food as well. Actually a lot of options in one spot. They also have different types of juices made to order. Absolutely worth checking out. Sorry wish I had taken photos of the baked goods

Best kept secret. Just as good if not better than Porto's pastries, and better than Panera. The deli foods are like home made. So good! The chef knows what he/she is doing.

Everyone raves about the pan/bread and pastries here. They also serve beans rice and meat plates. I didn't try the plates, but it looks like the regular Mexican food plate. The beans looked pretty watered down.
The pastries were okay. Nothing was outstanding to me. The service was excellent. They pull your order so that not everyone is touching utensils and doors. Nice personel. We were able to start inside, but we have been there when the line is out the door 10 to 12 people long. (We skipped that day). May return if in the area and are able to start inside.

"This place is alright, but I don't understand what the hype is all about. It's inconvenient to wait in line for the staff to get your bread as requested. It would be more convenient for the customers to pick up their bread. This would also save time and increase efficiency."

Best pan dulce in the area! They have a wide assortment and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommend their champurrado!

We wanted tamales for breakfast… so we went to Spikes as recommended, let me tell you! We ordered a dozen 10 red pork(very meaty and moist) 2 cheese and chile. Neither lacked flavor or filling,very delicious.
There was a bit of a line which was to be expected as we waited we saw the wall of fresh Pan Dulce in cased in very clean and so ever tempting glass covered cabinet.
You can’t actually pick your bread they have an attendant that grabs what ever you heart desires even has recommendations. As you wait to get to the register you get a glimpse of their warm prepared deli counter foods, they had plenty of selections not to sure of what they were since I had like a millions pieces of sweet bread and still waiting to order the tamales. They also offer fresh juices. Both the Pan Dulce and Tamales were very worthy of a 5 star rating in my book.

I was new to California and a new friend I met while there, decided to take me to this location because it's where she's been going since she was a little girl. I've never had true authentic Mexican food or dessert and this was a real treat! Unfortunately I didn't speak Spanish so I couldn't understand what anyone was saying, but everyone seems so kind to me otherwise and I hope to come back in the future. ❤

I used to live in Pomona and this was my go to spot for Pan dulce. Now that we moved when we are in the area we stop here. Still so good custard fill empanada are my favorite. All the bread is good and so is the food here

Best bakery in Pomona. Bread is always fresh and moist. They make the best tres leches cake and flan that I've ever had. Tamales are huge, meaty, and the masa is moist and full of flavor. The line iut the door proves how great this place is, but dont let the line discourage you. The line goes quick.

Ever since I been introduced to this bakery I LOVE it! I don't speak fluent Spanish but I'm able to communicate what I would like to buy. They have cakes, pastries, tamales, breads and some bottled beverages. They accept cash or cards (with a small fee). Try the pastries, they never disappoint!

Best being coming here for over 20 years and it's the best... have a couple guys when they cashier talking more then working slow the line up a Lil but not enough to keep me away if those guys work as fast as the girls do it be perfect .....keep an eye on your food order they have tendency of making mistake adding or forgeting to add any extra item you ask for. but food still very good

For our Wedding I ordered 50 carrot cup cakes and all I can say is I wish I would have ordered more and our wedding cake was carrot cake also the best! Our special day was awesome!!!

The Mexican sweet bread (pan dulce) is delicious. They serve a variety of Mexican dishes, champurado, desserts and fresh juice. The people who work there are always very friendly.

A million thanks to the Baker , Miguel! That first one of the workers said they did not make rainbow cakes, which I wish they would take the time to ask before they give wrong information. The baker here is very creative and has made three tickets for me and they are always so moist and so good but this time he made a beautiful rainbow cake that I just had to post. Miguel is always courteous but the rest of the stuff could be more welcoming especially for how popular this place is. I know they get busy but a smile wouldn't kill them.

Spike's is our to go bakery for Mexican sweet bread. It's a bit of a drive for us and a sometimes somewhat of a wait in line, but it's always worth it. The conchas and cuernos are always a must for us.

This is hidden gem I found by accident, easy to miss. Great Mexican sweet bread, deli (burritos, tacos, etc) and some of the best Homemade Tamales, like mom used to make. Friendly people, always busy. Don't be deterred by the location, worth it

Spikes is the best place to go for pan mexicano / pan dulce in the Pomona area. When you go in you will go to the right to get in line. The workers will pick whatever breads you choose and put them on a try for you and once you are done you will get in line to pay. The bread is always fresh and delicious. I have never been unhappy with the product. My favorites are the concha’s and bolillo.
