They did me a favor by taking my truck off the hands off my preferred mechanic who, due to unforeseen circumstances, didn’t have the time to repair it. Kudos to them.

However, after doing several repairs and adjusting the timing, they returned my truck with the timing retarded by 17° (7° ATDC vs the stock 10° BTDC). At first, I didn’t know what was causing poor performance, poor idle, strange ticking noise under acceleration. Then when I went to get the truck smogged, the mechanic there fixed my timing and informed me of the change—the truck has been driving much better since.

I called up E&J afterwards to understand why this happened, and I was told that this can occur when several repairs are done at the same time and that it’s okay for the timing to be slightly off spec. The first statement is unprofessional and the second is a distortion of the truth—17° is outside the tolerance.

Juan, I don’t need a discount for the repairs. Like you said, setting the timing is a 5 minutes job that doesn’t cost anything. But speaking to potential customers, this could be your experience.

Not trustworthy. Before I go there I ran a scanner in my car and the error showing was air/fuel ratio problem, then I replaced one of the oxygen sensor and error was still there. I decided to bring the car to them and I told them that I ran the scanner and replaced one of the oxygen sensors, they said they were going to diagnose and also check the catalytic converter to make sure it was in good condition. Turned out that all they did was to run the scanner and presented me with the error that I already knew existed and on the top of that gave me an estimate to replace the catalytic converter (over $1000). I decided to not proceed with the service, went home did some more research and found out that my car had two oxygen sensors. So I replaced the other oxygen sensor and the error disappeared.

I paid them $100 to be told about the error that already existed plus he didn’t check the catalytic converter but gave me an estimate to replace it. Do yourself a favor and look for another mechanic, don’t waste your money with a checking fee because they’re not honest.

Went in for a quote to have alternator replace was quoted one price then was called back and quoted double the price in less than 20 minutes. Save your self the highway robbery. Plus service advisor & staff not friendly at all. I truly felt I was being gouched due to being a woman 👎👎👎👎👎👎

The worst mechanic I have been to, they will take your money and not do their job. Very rude service especially from the dude name Juan. DO NOT GO THERE EVER

This place is completely unprofessional. The mechanic Juan will take advantage of children and leave your car worse than it already is.

He will take advantage and charge you more DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this guy. DO NOT he will take advantage and take your money and not do the job
