Great little spot! $7 matinee and totally reasonable snack bar prices and plenty of street parking.

Nice new seats in this historic theatre, with $6 Tuesdays and Thursdays for first run movies. Alternate rows and nearby seats blocked for Covid. The big 1925 auditorium was draped and split into three theaters long ago, one larger than the others. Friendly management, and staff keeps things clean in one of the last old neighborhood movie houses in SoCal.

Old fashion multi-plex. It's been around for decades. Helpful young staff keeps the place clean so no sticky floors, clean bathrooms, fresh popcorn and you can't beat the price. $7 to see The Flash before it's out of the theaters. I had such a pleasant experience, I'll be sure to come back. This theater is a great service to the community by keeping the price of admission so low. I think new releases are a little higher but still a great deal. No reserved seating so show up early to get the best seat. Check their website for Showtimes. $2.50 for all-day parking nearby, Baskin Robbins up the street a block or so and other great places to take a break and grab a drink. Great afternoon.

Had a blast here taking my 2 year old to his first movie. The staff were super nice. The popcorn and drinks were tasty. Can't ask for much more than that!

My absolute favorite movie theater in Los Angeles. It is a classic, historic movie, theater with relatively cheap tickets, and a retro feel. I come back here time, and time again!

Along with lower snack bar prices than most theaters this place has a retro charm. Staff is great and very helpful. Thursday sneak peaks on anticipated blockbusters are regularly available. Even film festivals are commonly provided. All of this plus you butter your own popcorn, refills on lrg drinks and popcorn makes this place an easy 5 Star.. Highly recommend

My kids had so much fun watching the Mario Movie. This was their first experience at a movie theater. It was affordable for the whole family. We spent $100 on entry and snacks for all eight of us.

My forever favorite movie theater. I love everything about it. They always have the newest movies playing and the best prices around. On top of that, the theater is very clean and I love the old fashion seats and it's antique looks. Last but definitely not least, the popcorn is very affordable and delicious. I highly recommend stopping by to experience a good old fashion movie night.

A true Gem. This historical theater will be 100 years old in a couple of years I think. I remember watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles there back in the early 90s, and just recently hit up a Matinee to watch Marvels DR. Strange. It really feels like you took a step back in time here. If you like modern accommodations... this place might seem a bit over ripe... But it's perfect for the folks who like authentic venues and the price for the Matinee and movie snacks was great. Very cool time here. I will be back!

It’s actually quite a clean, stylish venue— that old school LA cool. Can’t beat the price of $6 tickets on Tues and Wed, of course.
Seats are comfortable, although a bit squeaky.

It features the latest movies and one only pays $7.00 per person and it sales the best Nachos with cheese and jalapeƱos.

Classic no frills theater. LA needs more theaters like this. Lots of great discounts so plan ahead. They don’t always show what you want to see but they always got deals.

The Highland Theater is the closest thing to a time machine we'll get in LA. No other theater quite captures the sights and smells of a night spent at the movies as a kid in the 90s like this place. What makes this even better as an adult is having that nostalgic feeling and then being able to hit up one of the many bars in the area before or after the movie.

Treat yourself to a sketchy hotdog or nachos loaded with questionable "cheese." Order popcorn and add all the liquid butter and "flavors" your heart desires. Want cheese popcorn? There's a shaker for that. Want caramel flavor? There's a shaker for that. Is it good for you, probably not but it tastes good and that's all that matters.

Like everyone else said, if you want a fancy theater, this isn't the place for you. However, the prices are unbeatable and the staff is friendly. Give it a shot with an open mind and I think it will quickly become a staple that holds a special place in your heart.
