Sushi Ran

San Francisco. Sushi Ran was on top of the list for restaurants to visit as I saw it in a few different reviews. We loved the food so much that we came back again the next day to try other items on the menu. First the service was excellent and everyone was so kind and friendly. We even had the owner surprise us during our meal on the first night. Two of our favorites was the Miyazaki A5 beef which had incredible texture and a clean finish on the palate. The ikura chawanmushi was a beautiful dish to eat and to feed your eyes with. The texture was pleasant and had wonderful flavors of the sea. The next time we are in Sausalito we will definitely be visiting Sushi Ran again.

Mackerel, tuna, crab roll, Dumplings (so good we ordered 2), seaweed salad, shrimp tempura, gin & bourbon cocktails. They stayed late for our celebratory occasion, and even a scoop of ice cream with a candle. Highly recommend.

Some of the best nigri sushi and sashimi that we've ever had and over the years, we've been to many, many Japanese restaurants. Typically restaurants only have one type of Toro, where they offered several types of Toro. They also have a great selection of Sake.
We also had the pleasure to meet Yoshi san as he stopped by our table.

The sushi here is phenomenal. Hands down my favorite sushi joint in the bay. Everything is amazingly fresh and good size portions. Things of particular note are the zuke salmon and zuke tuna. Very unique flavors on those. Also the wagyu sushi is amazing if you feel like splurging. I love this place and will drive an hour up to Sausalito every other month to eat here. It's definitely worth it. It also happens to be a Michelin rated place and is on numerous lists for best Japanese restaurants in America. It's good size portions and great quality. You won't be disappointed here!

When you walk in you will notice many awards from magazines and food reviwers all saying the same thing. In short, it's awesome. And I agree!

Coming from Australia and living in Korea where Japan is on the door step I am no stranger to great sushi. What I loved about this place was the fish from the America's I ordered dishes with fish from Canada anfmd the states. I don't think they are on the same level from my corner of the globe, but they are still awesome and must be tried.

Lovely time at Sushi Ran - delightful service and exceptional food and wine selection. One of our favs. It’s a must try! You won’t be disappointed.

Authentic omakase and Japanese food!

This is one of my favorite spots so far in Sausalito. They are mostly indoor but they do have an outdoor area if you want to bring your dog.

Their food was fresh and tasty, and although and I haven’t tried their omakase I have only heard good things about it.

We started with their mushroom salad and dumplings, which I I liked they dumplings better. We followed by soca noodles and sushi rolls (not pictured here )

Another Stellar performance by Sushi Ran! Casey was our server and he was most accommodating and kind. Took the time to explain the dishes that we had ordered and explained that there is a hot kitchen and a cold kitchen. We ordered the dishes from both kitchens🦋 we had green tea with toasted rice flavoring. To-die-for! I can't wait to search for it at the store so I can have it conveniently at home. Ordered hot sake and Yoshi the owner complimented us with a cold sake.

Good service but be prepared for over $100 per person with no drinks for a few pieces. Nice environment with nice plates and table ware, seems to the a tech workers go to dinner spot. The sushi quality was about the same with $39 all you can eat sushi in Sparks (so very fresh; but not the best rolling technique), but the sashimi was admittedly more beautiful , but I would say this place is only worth it if you’re pulling in more than 200k a year and I do not. If you make a lot of money, the bill here won’t matter, and you will enjoy the quality and fresh food served. 5 stars as doing business is California is very expensive and difficult.

Wonderful dining experience in Sausalito - easily worth a trip up from the city. Haven't had a single bad dish. Must have items are the seaweed salad and anything with their salmon which is some of the best I've had.

The freshest, most perfectly served sushi I've had in a REALLY long time. From the perfect presentation, as you can see, to the impeccable service, I had such a lovely and memorable dinner, by myself.

The staff was beyond welcoming and accommodating, I didn't have to wait long. The environment was so inviting! And the sushi is immaculate, out of this world. It's clear why they're recognized nationally as a top sushi destination.

I have been to a lot of sushi restaurants, but the experience here at sushi run has been just delightful 😊 the atmosphere was perfect for enjoying the food and goes just right for any occasion. The service was amazing, with everybody being very kind and friendly. They had very good and innovative rolls and the quality of the ingredients is excellent.

It doesn’t really matter what you order, everything will be delicious, including desserts, which is something that some other places do not excel.

It’s truly, truly rare to find a sushi restaurant that goes above and beyond to make special sushi. Beyond that, Sushi Ran just gets all the little details right.

We started off with the Seaweed salad (I know, what were we thinking, right?), but it was special. It contained 3-4 types of seaweed and was refreshingly light. If you’re expecting the vinegary seaweed salad you get in a tub at Japanese markets, prepare to be pleasantly surprised with this dish.

We committed yet another sushi sin - ordering spicy tuna rolls. I know, I know, you can get that at your local !safeways! even, nowadays. But man, this spicy tuna roll was amazing. Besides just being fresh and flavorful, it’s sprinkled with an awesome chili and sesame powder which provides a flavor punch.

The softshell crab roll, I mean, do I need to say more? That stuff is fire. Sushi Ran’s roll comes with asparagus and fish roe, for a nicely complimented and highlighted the fried softshell crab.

If you read any of the reviews here, you’ll hear about the Miso-glazed cod, and you better believe it lives up to the hype. It’s something that should be served aboard the Titanic, as like, everyone’s last meal. Woops, that turned morbid.

My go to place for sushi caviar and japanese whiskey. Excellent selection from $20 to $150 a pour 🫗. Cuisine is consistent and service is excellent. Been going for several years now and served often by same waiter or waitress. Highly recommend for person or business.

Sushi Ran is one of my favorite restaurants for sushi in the Bay Area. They have unique flavor combinations. Make sure to inquire about this off menu roll, the Creamy Scallop (pictured on the left).

Their service is also fast and friendly. However, the prices are higher end.

That said, dogs are allowed when sitting outside and their heat lamps are strong! Street parking has not been a problem.

I definitely recommend you try out Sushi Ran!

Amazing sushi. Usually do take out but dine in is awesome. We love the spicy tuna, salmon, and crab rolls. Order the white crab if available. Always great customer service. Shout out to Michelle!

Nice sushi spot in Sausalito with a wide selection of appetizers, nigiri sushi and rolls. Friendly staff and plenty of outdoor seating. Worth a visit if you’re a sushi lover in Sausalito!

Very good sushi rolls, the black cod is excellent, they could put a bit more miso sauce and caramelize the fish a bit more. The cauliflower is ok, would not recommend.
