My wife and I stayed at Colton Inn for 4 nights last week. We were in town for a work convention and wanted to be close to the convention center without paying $250+ a night. When we travel we are almost never in our room anyway. Colton Inn was perfect for us. The front desk staff was amazing. Karisma checked us in and gave us great recommendations on where to eat in town. Kristina was very helpful each morning. The room was clean and comfortable. If we end up back in Monterey we will definitely stay there again.

Very nice inn within walking distance of Fisherman's Wharf. Bed was comfortable. Everything was clean and the location was quiet.

A super nice hotel I have ever lived. 👍
The service was great and the room is clean and comfortable. There is microwave and bath tank inside the room. Free coffee and breakfast was provided and it’s good.
It’s convenient for me that i can safely park my car at the yard. 😄😄

Most important, I forgot my water bottles at room, and they notify me when they find that.

Overall looks great, I will definitely come backs again. ❤

If you finds my comment useful, please give me a like. 👍

Lots of reviews mention the myriad of "rules" which we were fine with. The inn is quiet and is in walking distance to the waterfront; a little far to the aquarium but doable if you want to save the 20 bucks parking fee. Breakfast was a bit sparser than we were used to at larger hotels, but is not bad and we carbed up for our day (no breakfast meats).

While the rooms are little outdated, the location is fantastic. Staff was extremely helpful and being able tp park here is a plus. Nice deck overlooking some scenery is a plus. Will definitely stay again.

Free breakfast was below expectations, but its free. Nothing against them.

We stayed in a King Bed/Fireplace Room and found the room was clean and simply decorated. The Inn provides a Duraflame Log that provides some ambiance in the room for one night of our five night stay. Staff was friendly, but EVERYTHING must go through the Front Desk. We asked housekeeping for a change of towels and they could not do it without permission from Front Desk.

There was a minimalist breakfast available almost every morning. When a bus tour arrived, the free coffee, tea and water set up was taken down and the breakfast area was closed. The lobby coffee is made with a percolator, and although there is a Keurig in the room, if you want more than the two K-cups beyond what is in your room upon arrival they are $1 a piece.

This was a comfortable room, and was quiet. It is close to downtown Alvarado St and just another 5 minute walk, you are at the Wharf.

For a few dollars more a night, we could have stayed at a property closer to the water with a bit more atomosphere.

Clean and cute inn. The location is perfect to walk to near by restaurants and bars. The staff is very friendly. It is nice to see a place that takes pride in details. The coziness makes up for a few dated decor items. Room did have a futon. There is a $20 fee for sheets. The breakfast was a great amenity and staff refreshed often.

We enjoyed staying here with two small kids. Rooms are good sized and clean - ours had two Queens, a futon, a desk and chair and a small table with two chairs, and a balcony. I loved the fact that there is a place for the kids to sit and eat their snacks or breakfast in the room. Continental breakfast was perfect for us - waffles, toast, biscuits and gravy, cereal, oatmeal, etc. No air conditioning but it was the cool season; the space heater worked well to keep us warm. Two minute walk to Friendly Plaza or the Library for kids to blow off steam. Will be back!

I had a very good experience with all the staff members. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We were put in a room with a little balcony and stream down below. I liked how there was a fridge and microwave in the room. The room was very clean and welcoming. They had a tiny breakfast in the morning from 7 to 10. We enjoyed the free wifi.

Also enjoyed how close we were to the wharf and downtown area. Walking is very do able for the surrounding area.

Great central location, reasonable price, friendly staff, clean rooms. Exterior is quaint and well suited to the neighborhood, almost drove past it twice because it blends so well. Interior is probably due for an update but very well kept. Bring your own charging cube as they do not have USB ports. We went out to breakfast, but swung by to check out the continental. It looked like a good assortment, and the breakfast room/patio were very nice. Not the highest end hotel, however very good for its rating and perfect for couples who want a peaceful place to rest after a day in Monterey. I highly recommend it.

Good very clean hotel. It came recommended by someone who works in town and they did not steer us wrong. Would stay here again without question but would ask for a room with windows that open vs a room with patio door. This way the window can be left open during the day when out to let air in. Came with a breakfast and it switched up on the weekend. Close to the fisherman's wharf and the Tuesday night Street market. Many good eating establishment's within a quick walk. Free parking as well!

The breakfast was decent and they provided a variety of choices. The room was nice and homey. Clean and quiet location. The towels and bedding were good quality. It's a 2.5 star hotel, but it wasn't as nice as expected. I would definitely stay here again.

Firstly, book directly through the website for more options - we got a suite with a fireplace for a better price than anything a travel site was offering! The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Can't speak for cleaning service because, due to COVID, it was not performed during our stay. But the room was very clean and well-stocked ahead of our 3 night stay and we didn't have any issues. Location is great, away from the busy businesses of Monterey but well within walking distance. The continental breakfast was nice, there's a patio to enjoy it on, and the whole vibe of the hotel is very cute and homey.

My wife and I have been coming here for yrs. We won't stay anywhere else. If you're looking for quiet this is the spot. Very comfortable feels like home. The staff is great. I always go to the office for sumthin and end up talking to the girls for awhile. They automatically send a fan to my room which is great I don't have to ask for it. They remember what I want. The manager Ellen is great. The sweetest person I've met. She's the one who remembers everything I want. I highly recommend Colton inn. Felicia & Sirena

Great location. Very nice room, clean and spacious. My room faced the main street; however, it was quiet. I rested well. Check out was noon and the desk assistant allowed me to leave my car in the lot for an extra hour while I attended a nearby event.

I almost don't want to leave a review. This place was great! Super clean very reasonably priced. They have a small breakfast of toast, waffles, yogurt, banana, oatmeal, cereal, and a few muffins. Coffee, milk, and juice with a little sitting area and a deck. This place is quit with no ac in the rooms but we didn't need it. We just left the windows open and used the fans they provided. You could walk to almost everything. There was a few bakery's with a 5 min walk. The fisherman's wharf was 10 min and the aquarium and Cannery row was only a 30 min walk. We hardly used our vehicle and saved on parking. I will stay here everytime I visit Monterey!!!! Thanks for the heat stay guys!

Also I booked through a third party booking site. You should book straight through them. They were cheaper than the third party booking site.

The place was very clean and close to a lot of restaurants, breakfast in the morning was nice before we headed out. The front desk help were very polite and helpful . I Would definitely choose this spot again when we come back to visit again.
