Chambers Creek Canyon Trailhead

This is my top favorite trail in Tacoma for many reasons. It’s usually quiet, peaceful, and gives you just the right amount of exercise with plenty of hills and elevation gains. There are so many areas and side trails worth exploring. The creek is perfect to wade in with lots of neat spots to hang out. My only concern is that I have seen homeless people camped out on one section of the creek but they seem to mind their own buisness. This is definitely a hidden gem I’m grateful to have found.

One of my usual hiking locations. There is also decent fishing in the creek down below. Make sure you abide by the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife guidelines because there are special rules for fishing this area.

Great short trip emerged in the forest with nice spacious trails. A great walk/hike for all ages groups. Great for dogs (on leash, please).

They wanted to develop all this land in the 1980s. My brother was part of the program that saved it. This place is part of my life! I grew up skimboarding 🏄‍♂ here. They called me "The Legend" I didn't necessarily like that but I accepted it. I used to bring my rowboat and a box of garbage bags then get a group of people together and pick up all the garbage. In Spring and Summer I ride my mountain bike there a lot and I've always enjoyed walking the trails. Keep it clean and keep it real people! 😎👍

Now that theres a nice trail made, it's very nice to job or have a nice small hike.

I hike here a couple times a week! Beautiful landscape, and a pretty great hike close to home! If you want a hardcore hike, or just a quiet stroll, well it has both!

Wonderful wooded trail. There is also an amazing shallow creek that is a perfect place for kids to play. Beautiful sandy bottom, and small beach areas!

A wonderful, accessible, and under appreciated trail for Oakbrook, Steilacoom, University Place, and Lakewood residents to maintain Fitness, wellness, and peace. Within the next several years, it will be extended substantially by University Place and the City of Lakewood. Kudos to politicians who focus on the meaningful and not upon the politically divisive. This political environment is probably enabled by the values of the military, Veteran, and retired military community that resides within these areas.

Beautiful day with very few people. A bit slippery to get in but some steps have been added lately at the top of the put in. No wheelchair or elderly (that are not sure footed) access.

Great scenic view. Felt peaceful. It was a nice to and back from beach.

Fun lil hike depends on what side you want to go one has a nice slow river the other is a small lake or the end of the river awesome place for young ones that are new to swimming or just learning

This is a great spot. Beautiful view of Puget Sound, a great play to walk and play with children or dogs

It has a beautiful view the trees are tall and everything is very green it's perfect for walk there's even other trails that you can hike on and you can go down to the water My favorite thing to do here is watch the sunset because it's beautiful setting over the water.

One of my favorite places to walk. Good place to jog, walk, bike, take your dog, fly a kite.

An unexpectedly beautiful trail that leads along the fast moving waters of Chambers creek. Well tended and not too crowded.
