Oh.
My.
God.

What an amazing surprise this place was. I googled “seafood restaurants” from my hotel in Tacoma and it brought me to a beautiful little place on the water called Dukes seafood Tacoma.
They started off with some of the best sourdough bread I’ve ever had. Follow that up with “award winning” clam chowder and I was already starting to get full. Then, the waitress brought out my crab stuffed Alaskan halibut fillet. It was beautiful and delicious.
Finally, entirely full, my server asked me if I had any room for dessert. When she told me what they had, I absolutely was unable to resist the Marion berry pie à la mode.
What I did not know was that it is not a “piece” of pie. It’s about half of a pie topped with two giant scoops of ice cream.
It was also absolutely decadent.
My only regret was that I could not get through all of it due to being stuffed to the gills from all the other fantastic food.
If you were in the Tacoma area, or, as I came to learn after speaking with the staff there, anyone of other seven locations in the Seattle area, be sure to check them out.

Dukes is great, especially the Tacoma waterfront location. It is a large, bustling, busy restaurant. The menu offers many options. The grass-fed beef burgers are very good, it's so tempting to order one instead of seafood.

Prices are extremely inflated and while the portions are good, the food isn't exactly a good value. But, here, you should expect to pay for the experience and atmosphere as well as the overpriced food.

Each time, the food has been prepared correct to what was ordered and correctly to the food itself, with professionalism and pleasant teamwork.

Sometimes the specials on the seasonal menu are a gamble as the seasonings and preparations seem to be experimental and in need of refinement. It's great to try the specials if you're feeling adventurous and won't be disappointed your $40-$60 may not provide you something you like.

We sat outside and the view was amazing! Such a great atmosphere. The food was excellent. The clam chowder in the sour dough bowl is a must. The sour dough bread is soft and flavorful. You really can’t go wrong with anything. The service was fast and friendly.

Great food! Husband and I dined here in October. The food was fresh and cooked to perfection. Dessert was sweet without being too heavy. Restaurant overlooks the bay.

Our waiter was also top notch, husband and I went onto the deck to take a picture, and she ran out and offered to take one for us. Total sweetheart, not to mention carrying the cutest belly bump.

10/10 would recommend.

I have now been to Dukes three times and each time a different location. Each and every trip the food and service have been excellent. In addition to the food they have some amazing cocktails and bar staff. Dukes is well worth it for a romantic night out or just a quick bite in the bar.

Everything here was delicious. We came on December 23rd before heading to Zoo Lights. My husband got one of the burgers and said that it was really good, but he wished it had more cheese. He also wasn't a fan of the diet soda option they had. Aside from that, the crab deviled eggs, maple bacon prawn and scallop, and the seafood gnocchi were all divine! Massive portions. I couldn't finish my dish!

Excellent view of the ocean with fresh salmon that was so delicious. Exceptional customer service. The carrot cake was very moist and delicious. This place is busy, so do make reservations ahead.

This is a terrific find on the Tacoma waterfront. Not at all what we were expecting but quite happy that we found it. We were in for an early dinner and it wasn’t too busy but by the time we left, it was really getting packed! The restaurant is nicely segmented so there was a cozy feel but they have spaces that were capable of holding a larger group. We got an excellent table by a window with a lovely view of the waterfront. Our server was quite attentive and extremely knowledgeable about the menu, walking through our myriad questions with patience. Appetizer was the maple bacon seafood bites. One scallop and one shrimp wrapped in bacon with a bacon glaze. Yum. I opted for the three course meal, soup, salad, and entree. Soup was the Lobster Mobster chowder and it was unlike anything I’ve ever had. Warm, smooth, rich, creamy. The salad was the Sweet Caper Spinach Salad, a wonderful combination of bacon, almonds, chopped eggs, and tomatoes over baby spinach leaves with a slightly sweet, slightly tart vinaigrette. My entree was the two piece Oh My Cod & chips. Pretty hefty slabs of fish very lightly breaded and fried to perfection. Super moist fish, plenty tender, and the dill tarter was the perfect compliment. If I had a beef with this, I could have used about 50% more ‘chips’. They were just average French fries and the only way to improve is to offer a few more of them. My wife’s meal was the Prawn, Scallop & Crab “Un”Cake Mixed Grill. The only thing I sampled here was the “un” cake (crab cake). This is hands down the best I have ever had. No doubt, 100% exceptional. This is so good they have crabs lining up to give their life for this cake!! Two amazing flavorful sauces with this, too. Be aware, this is not cheap eats but it’s a fine value for the dining dollar when combining all the elements of food, atmosphere, service, location, etc

2/2023Loved the quid of Chowder! Excellent! Lovely place. 1/2024 update! Dukes did not disappoint this Texas girl. I could not wait to have the award winning clam chowder, and it was as flavorful as I remembered it the first time. I also switched it up with their fish and chip dinner, and it was fantastic as well. Our waiter Matt was so nice after a long traveling day we got to the restaurant at 915 and he was so attentive and pleasant throughout the whole meal. Highly recommend this restaurant if you're in Tacoma, Washington!!! Oh, the Mia Tia was awesome, too!!!

Wade was our server and he was absolutely incredible. You could tell he loved his job and was so kind to us. We were celebrating Veterans day with my husband and got the gnocchi special. He offered a free bowl of chowder for his service and the food was incredible. Everything came out in a timely manner. We made a reservation beforehand and requested a seat by the window and it was a very beautiful view of the water. :) will definitely come back

Best service ever! Food is amazing! Thank you to all the staff that made our 2023 work Christmas party a success. The manager Kyle is wonderful, the mother / daughter waitress team pulled it off seamless. Great service. Highly recommend.

It was my friends' first Duke's experience and they really loved the atmosphere and the food was great! We ordered the chef's special scallop ravioli, stuffed halibut, and patty melt... 'appeteasers' were the cabo wabo prawns and crab dip! The service was excellent.

Was visiting Tacoma for the first time and enjoyed a great lunch at Duke’s on a fall Saturday. I couldn’t decide on what clam chowder to get so went with the trio sampler of clam, lobster and seafood. All were excellent. A hearty, warm bread bowl was brought to the table. We were greeted at the front and seated by the window to enjoy an expansive and impressive view. Our server was polite and friendly. I look forward to returning.

Awesome view. Extraordinary seafood. Lobster Mobster is the best chowder I've ever had. Feel like you're dining at a yacht club.

Duke's on Point Ruston is nothing short of a culinary and scenic masterpiece! I recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic restaurant, and I am still savoring the incredible experience.

Let's talk about the Rockin Fish Tacos - they are an absolute game-changer! Bursting with flavor and perfectly crafted, these tacos are a must-try for anyone visiting Duke's. The combination of fresh ingredients and the chef's expertise make them a culinary delight that will leave your taste buds dancing with joy.

The wait staff at Duke's deserves a special shout-out. Not only are they friendly and attentive, but they also have this incredible knack for keeping your water glass perpetually full. It's those little touches of exceptional service that elevate the overall dining experience.

Everything was perfect....food, vibe, waiter and the view. We were visiting from Austin TX, and this was our last night in town. Celebrating a few things and hoped for a special night out. Duke's nailed it.

Delicious, even when busy. Man the food was good. So beautiful to sit by the water, and the dishes looked very good too; drinks in pretty glasses, dishes shaped nicely. Maybe felt a touch rushed, again because they were busy but very polite

We love Dukes. My wife and I were just there on Friday with our 4 kiddos and we had an amazing meal and service as always. Sitting on the desk looking out to the water is always a bonus. Staff and food hit the spot and the wallet at the same time but well worth it
