There are numerous Indian restaurants in San Diego County, but this particular restaurant is kind of a hidden gem. The food is delicious and flavorful. The staff members are great and are always friendly. They answered all my questions about certain dishes. Typically, we order takeout, but we decided to dine in this time to see what the service was like and also try new Indian dishes we have never tried before.

The restaurant itself is a nice size and decorated nicely. There is plenty of seating. You will need to order at the counter first.

The food has always been great, and this was the same. This time, we ordered the following.

Appetizers

- Vegetable Samosas
Vegetarian Turnovers Stuffed With Potatoes, Peas, Mild Spices.

Main Course

- Chicken Tikka Masala
Chicken Cooked In Creamy Onion And Tomato Sauce

- Paneer Tikka Masala
Paneer Cooked In Creamy Tomato And Onion Gravy

- Bengan Bharta
A puree of tandoor baked eggplant cooked with peas and herbs

Dessert
- Gulab Jamun
Milk Dough Balls Dipped In Sugar, Nuts, And Raisins

- Ras Malai
Milk Cheesecake Indian Style Laced With Pistachios And Thickened Sweet Milk

We had a fantastic experience with delicious food and excellent service. They even gave us a complimentary rice pudding to bring home with us, which was delicious.

Delicious.

The Marsala is amazing. All their sauces are tasty.

Naan is delightedly delicate and tender. Scrumptious.

The saag is full of flavor.

Spice is just right for the American palate. You may add more if needed.

Atmosphere is clean, but somewhat sterile. A few decorations and Indian cable is on the television.

A great place for Indian food.

A great small business located conveniently in the center of a tech area, I’ve come here for several years on business trips to the city and always find myself satisfied.

The business is small but comfortably arranged with quick service, an easy menu, and great pricing.

The food is flavorful, served at a good temperature and not spicy. You’ll get a great portion for the price especially at lunch with their special.

The staff has always been polite and informative.

Everytime I've been here, it has been a party for the taste buds! The staff are great, even though it's counter service they still bring the food to your table and do check-ins on how everything is or if anything else is needed, as well as clean up of used dishes.
We got the Vindaloo Chicken and the Lamb Seehk sausages and both were very well spiced/season and perfectly cooked. The Vindaloo just fell apart in your mouth. We also ordered the garlic Naan, made fresh to order, very fluffy, great taste, and light!

Although this store is small, it has a comfortable atmosphere, quick service, and a simple and affordable menu. The food tastes delicious, the temperature is moderate, and it is not spicy, which is especially suitable for those who like light taste. Especially during lunch time, their specials are great value for money. I chose the store's lunch special series and was pleasantly surprised to find that the dishes were very generous. A portion of rice was paired with two main dishes, and the price was very cost-effective. The waiter Navdeep gave me extremely friendly and polite treatment. He knew the menu information well and patiently explained the different series of Indian dishes to me, giving me a preliminary understanding of this unfamiliar cuisine. This was my first time trying Indian food, and Navdeep's patient explanation made me interested in this unique cuisine. I look forward to visiting again and trying their other delicious dishes. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.

Place makes some AMAZING food! Lunch Special for $13?! I make two meals out of it so it only ends up costing me $6.50 per meal. The staff are polite. Clean restaurant. Quick service. Will DEFINITELY be coming back soon and will update with pics before I eat it 😅

I loved all of it! We are vegan and came during lunch so we got the alu gobi and chana masala with roti. Absolutely delicious. The flavor profile is nice and balanced and we opted for little spice.

Navdeep is so polite and we appreciated his service.

Such amazing service! The lamb samosa is so good too especially. Nicely sized portions. Always hot. Really nice service, the host gives us a complimentary dessert several times. Best Indian food I've ever had in SoCal!

I’ve been coming to Village Indian for a few years and I am finally writing a well deserved review.

The lunch special which is $14 for two entrees, a salad, naan and rice is delicious and absolutely filling. I can’t get it enough times.

This was my first time here and I came
With my partner for lunch, we both had the lunch special.

I had the butter chicken & lamb curry
He had the butter chicken & chicken marsala. Both meals came with Naan bread & cucumber salad.

First thing I noticed about this place was how clean it was, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, a small cafe but nicely put together with more than enough seating options.

The person who took our order Gaiy was so polite and courteous, he provided great customer service and I observed he was this way with every interaction, just respectful and kind.

Our food came out fast and steamy! And let me tell you, IT WAS GREAT!! I eat Indian food often and I'm privy to the diversity of flavors yet simplicity of the pallet and this food hit that spot, like it was made from the love of an Indian mom/grandma/Antie. 🥹

Hands down this is my new favorite Indian restaurant, they can count on me being a regular, especially during lunch time. All with it 10/10

The food is awesome! Jass has amazing people skills and helped us get exactly the most delicious and perfect meals! I can't say enough good about our experience here. I wanted to run outside and tell passer-bys to come and try it. Please try the samosas and chicken korma. You won't be sad you did!

Honestly, kinda glad I started off trying out Indian food here. The food is just so colorful and full of flavor. I’d love to come back and try more Indian cuisine. A big fan of the garlic nan, butter chicken, and of course the mango lassi~ Also as always, start off low when they ask how spicy, they do not play around when it comes to delicious spicy food. Even a level 2 spice will build up.

Even with a small mixup, the staff was very nice and accommodating that personally made me felt like they truly care about their customers and even so far to go above and beyond. They’re all just good hardworking folk who make tasty and hearty meals.

Overall, just a really good establishment that serves amazing food made by people who love food and love to share it with others. Thank you so much and I’ll be coming back again.

Man, I hope these guys never go anywhere. We’ve tried other Indian places but they just don’t have the flavor we come here for. Been coming for a good ten years, and it’s always a treat. Butter chicken with warm garlic naan dipped in it, the chicken 65, the lamb vindaloo. Thank you for always being amazing. Now if we could just get some cozier ambience and some beer…..

Lunch deal for two curries, rice, naan, and tomato salad is fantastic for $13. Chana masala and saag paneer were great.

Great food and service. Food was really nice and tasty, we had ordered chicken biryani. Staff was also very helpful and nice. Price was the best. Great value, food, and service led me to give this one a 5 star rating.

This has been our favorite place to get Indian food in San Diego! It’s super close to our home and the staff are always super pleasant when we go there. We can recommend them enough! Their breaded cauliflower appetizer is one of our favorites! Definitely should try!

Had an incredible dining experience at Indian Village in San Diego! The food was not only reasonably priced but also incredibly delicious. The flavors were authentic, and the overall atmosphere added to the enjoyment. Highly recommend for anyone craving flavorful Indian cuisine. 5 stars!

Excellent food, great service. I'm gonna be going back. Love the Goat Curry but when we order, we all share. The rest of their dishes are great too.

I got the chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, and garlic naan. I could not finish and am so glad to have taken home the leftovers.

The chicken tikka masala was creamy and delicious. The chicken was very tender and absorbed the flavors of the sauce well.
The saag paneer boasted a lot of flavor as well. I suggest to eat at the restaurant as when the garlic naan came out, it was hot, crispy, and amazing with the tikka masala and saag paneer.
Will 100% recommend and would come here again!

Went with my family to dine in. I ordered the chicken korma, and it tasted incredible! I tried the chicken tikka masala too, which was delicious. The service provided by Navdeep was excellent despite the large volume of takeout orders. He was kind and helpful even though we sat at our table long after we finished eating. The restaurant is small and clean, but it has a good amount of tables for its size. I will absolutely dine here again.
