Elanus Canyon Trailhead

Street parking by the trailhead. Weekdays have more strict access due to construction but weekends are OK. Good for mornings or late afternoons as you don't want to be exposed to hot sun for long. Make sure to bring water. Plenty of flowers, shrubs, and greens especially during Spring. Some good photo opportunities, and also good view on high points. After we exit we saw a homeowner trying to get rid of a snake, so there is always that.

Coming down the trail, can see Pt Loma in the distance and a bit of the ocean. I've always like this Trail, especially in winter.

Very hard to get traction after a rain but otherwise a great trail.

The views all around are amazing you can do one mile or 50 depending on your skill.

Great and demanding mountain biking trails

Nothing like some open space to hike in.

Easy to park.

It's short (about 10-15 minutes) not hard, but if you go from Calle De Vida to Tierrasanta blvd here is cool downhill. Road is sandy. Comfortable shoes preferred.

Beautiful canyon

Der Elanus Trail läuft sich bis auf einen sehr steilen Abschnitt recht gut, bietet aber landschaftlich nicht sehr viel.
